Margaret, you do look awesome here! At 60 and semi-retired, I taught myself to paint, oil, water color and acrylics (RUclips videos, books, painter friends) made a space in the garage and ended up with some art students for 6 years, learned to buy at auction and sell the contents of storage units, also picked up roadside (free) furniture and painted it, began writing essays of life stories (with the intent of writing a book, my kids have asked for this). I'm now 73 and have slowed down and some things have become more difficult but I do garden some, I swim at the YMCA and that has been very beneficial for my aging body, it even healed a knee). At 70 I was feeling a little isolated so I contacted some neighbors who I knew were widowed, divorced or alone and we began taking day trips (I drive and have a mini-van) around New England, sometimes just lunch and a little shopping. We've become fast friends and still routinely get in the car about once a month and go! It has brought new friendships as well. I lost my husband of 50 years this past summer and once I got my equilibrium back I've continued along the same lines. I keep a notebook of ideas, watch inspirational RUclips videos, read books, look forward to the spring garden (I'll need help this year). We are never too old to dream and to do something we have the energy for. I love your channel, Margaret. It's one of the best.

Thank you for the reminder of aging is growing up......When I turned 70 I threw a birthday party. NO gifts period, it was for everyone to celebrate life. So many people came, they made new friends, brought food!! and it was actually calming too. Now active again in environmental issues how ever I can be.

I'm not 70 yet! But I've retired & moved from the Pacific Northwest to the Southwest. Bought a smaller home. Looking forward to many adventures here! 😊

Margaret, I know my own worth; however, tbh, the world's perspective of us cannot be completely ignored. We have no option but to keep a positive attitude, because it's much too easy to fall into depression for many different reasons. No one seems to care about us, or even notice us. Rock concerts? I'd LOVE to go, but have no one to go with, and I'm not certain if I have the stamina. Yes, we are "wise women"..not even my adult children want my "wisdom". Certainly, I don't care for the term, "crone". I feel so young inside, still. The holidays are difficult, evoking many emotions; I long for the 1960's when Christmas was magical, not commercialized. Well, believe it or not from my rant, I am grateful. Thank you for yet another relevant topic; stay safe and well!
    Rosemarie 💖

Great video, sometimes we have to adapt to those issues of aging ourselves and taking care of aging parents. I live in gratitude and value the ability to wake up early and see beautiful sunrises. Read about I have never been, text friends, meditate and lots of magical daydreaming. I study things on zoom, and have so much appreciation for what does work in my life. 🌼🌻🌞🌈

Tanti saluti from Palermo, Margaret! Love your channel. The energizing power of doing new things that I did this year is turn 65 in Palermo (from Connecticut, USA) and posed nude ( a la Michelangelo's David statue that is at the Accademia in Florence) for a painting done by a young Spanish painter and a young Italian artist, compared to me...the painting's title is "La Consapevolezza e l'oblazione del Vecchio Filippino, Kidlat Damang a Palermo". Of all my museum visits around the world, for a lifetime of 60+, I don't ever recall seeing (myself allegorically) an Asian male figure/model as a subject of a life-size painting in a museum...Asian art or art about Asians, especially males...usually focuses on landscapes, or landscapse with people as tiny as ants, definitely not nude, and flowers, waves, etc. or unless it's an illustrative set of drawings about the kamasutra or other erotic drawings and sketches, but never paintings like a Goya, Raphael, Ingres, or even an Amorsolo or Manansala, et al. To the power and energies (with a nap) of 60 plus!!!

Good point, Margaret! We can't get more of what we want, if we don't know what it is and we don't plan how we're going to get it. You've inspired me to start a list of small and large things. I've fallen into settling for the comfortable, enjoyable and oh so familiar. This will take some soul searching. Thanks for the push!

You look really, really really good today and I also adore that lipstick on you. Am totally American and so remember "Queen for a Day"! One room mini-studio here, too. Am considering (due to cost of living mostly) moving to another state, but that would mean leaving grandchildren who are so important to me. I don't know what to do.?????
