Great light review. You spent as much time on the navigation as you did on other things. Most people looking at this truck are looking for the important stuff that you just breezed over. Let’s review the new power train and not acceleration on the freeway, that test is 1 of many you should have been covering. I would suggest going deep into the drive train. While reliability is not known yet, the attention is on the lack of a V-8, now ya got turbo’s. How about that ‘10 speed’ transmissions and the ill gotten transmission logic in the Tacoma automatic. It constantly hunts for gears. Now that Toyota has gone to a V-6 did they screw the Tundra up by introducing their faulty shifting logic into the Tundra? How does it tow? How about passing fully loaded on a moderate hill? A steep hill(6%)?. Mirrors and visibility while towing for example? Trailer braking, etc.. People buy full size to do things. You should be reviewing the things that make people buy a full size. It’s,a given that most of the fancy 4x4 settings are going to work. They are pretty good at that but let’s get into the basics of it being a full sized truck, with towing capacity and how it handles payload, etc.. so many things not covered in this review. How’s that engine handle those loads and hills and how’s tha tranny do? Spitting out specs isn’t a review. I could do that by going to their website. Test those specs! Review those specs. 6.5 secs for 0-60 is like beginner 101 review stuff. Put some effort into this. It seems like you only reviewed what Toyota wanted you too.
At 2:06 in the video you show footage of what appears to be a base model SR from the rear. I'd love to know if you had more footage of that or if that's from Toyota as promo footage where I could find more. That is the first time on ANY video I've seen a color-matched A-pillar and I think I'd personally prefer that.
I've had a 2010 Tundra SR5 for 10+ years. My biggest complaint with it are: 1. Not enough lateral support in the seats which results in sliding around some. 2. 58 beeps to let you know the seatbelt isn't latched. 3. Having to press UNLOCK 2 times on the key fob to unlock all doors. 4. Automatic lock after a certain amount of time not opening the truck. 5. I put a 3" lift on mine and STILL can't get tires as large as you can get under a stock Ford F-150. Toyota needs to make the wheel wells larger (or whatever needs to be done) to allow owners to install larger tires without having to put a 4" lift or higher. I am really digging the 2022 TRD Pro. I am hoping I can get one. Hopefully it won't be priced as high as the GMC AT4, Ford Raptor or RAM TRX. I am really hoping the TRD Pro is around $60K max.
you can change the lock/unlock settings, just need techstream or just take it to a toyota dealer and ask them to change it. only takes about 5 min. also im afraid this trd pro will pass 60k since the current pro is about 58k, just a guess on price though
This truck is a massive improvement over the previous generation. However, I think it needs an auto four wheel drive function. Is it enough to take on the big three? Let's see the price.
This might seem like a bit of a nitpicky thing to ask with this being a truck review but how effective would you say the ventilated seats are on a 1-10 scale in your opinion? Only reason I ask was having them on my 2016 f-150 they were ice cold whereas my 2014 lexus gs its a barely noticeable "breeze". I know on the newer lexus' I've had the chance to drive or be driven in the ventilated seats are much more improved compared to my 14', just curious how you being someone who reviews many vehicles feel the new Tundra's cooled seats stack up.
I want to know this too..I had an s550 mustang and the cooled seats were amazing. Literally the only sports car with those features. Test drove an is350 and they were terrible. Hopefully they’re good here.
Every friend/family member who has had ventilated seats in a Ford product has told me it broke within a couple years. That's 2 2017 F-150s, 2017 explorer, and Expedition (not sure of year). If they don't get as cold but it still works 10 years later I'd prefer that.
Ditch some of that rear legroom (or offer regular, extended, and/or quad cab options) and let's shorten that 9 mile long wheelbase. That's the only thing that annoys my about Tundra. Two words: breakover angle!
I'm not a fan of red interiors in general, but I really like this one on the Tundra Pro, very handsome. Hopefully Toyota includes a similar interior on the 2023/2024 4runner Pro. 👍
I really do think this truck is ugly, though admittedly it is growing on me. Probably one of those vehicles that look way better in person than on screen.
I'm thinking the same. It's actually really making me appreciate the clean looks of the current-generation. I will say though, I like it in white, in the trims with no chrome.
does the battery pack take up the entire length of the back seat? I saw in another video the rear seat flips forward with storage behind. are there storage pockets behind both rear seats?
"While Americans can’t seem to get enough of the mid-size pickups from Japanese automakers, they absolutely shun their full-size trucks. According to data from WardsIntelligence, the highest market share Toyota has seen with Tundra was 9.1% and that was in 2007. It currently hovers in the 5% range. It’s even worse for Nissan. The best the Titan was able to muster was 3.5% of the market in 2005. Today it’s at 1.5%. With the Detroit Three commanding 94% of full-size pickup sales this year, it might almost make more sense for Toyota and Nissan to share a large truck platform." Autoline

Ryan : Sweet!...
Toyota : *I found Deli K Sweets*
I've had a 2010 Tundra SR5 for 10+ years. My biggest complaint with it are:
8:44 the Man in the RAM looks really interested LOL this truck is awesome
I love those
This truck is a massive improvement over the previous generation.
Thanks for trying out the lane centering. Good to see on a truck. Clutch for road trips
Your right about the multi functions on one screen. They need to change that.
Ditch some of that rear legroom (or offer regular, extended, and/or quad cab options) and let's shorten that 9 mile long wheelbase. That's the only thing that annoys my about Tundra. Two words: breakover angle!
Kinda screwed up on the information screen because even my 2020 trd offroad rav4 with the jbl can is multifunctional
I saw them in person at State Fair of Texas and that was my opinion as well.
Getting ready to order mine super excited 😍
I live in San Antonio, can you please tell me where you took this off roading? I’ve looked up “the preserve” but have had a hard time finding it lol
It’s a new, private events facility. The Nav says the address at the beginning.
@@drivingsports thanks for the reply, love the videos
Does the TRD Pro only come with red interior?
Welcome to Texas; gonna be hard trying to find a hill for testing.
Has Toyota said why they are not offering all time all wheel drive as an option while driving?
My god wish these where in Australia
