- This B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) hyper coaster opened in March, 1999, making it the first of its kind. The coaster is all about airtime, in other words - floating out of your seat for as long as possible. Did you know that although the coaster is 170 feet (52m) tall, it has a 210 foot (64m) drop thanks to the surrounding terrain?
This Busch Gardens park is located in Williamsburg, Virginia.

This ride at night has been cemented in my Top 5 during a night time ride. It just hits different at night. Such a great coaster overall!
At night or during the rain.
Yep night is usually better. I had a cool experience on this coaster we went on the 4th of July and got to ride this several times during the firework show, when you were near the top of the hill they looked so close and huge
At night or my favorite dusk! 😂
It’s the best night ride of all time IMO
It's great in the day but at night it's magic 😊
But where is the goose flying into your face?? 😂
I can’t think of that guy’s name for anything, but that happened on the inaugural ride.
@@datsnuffydude5460Fabio. He's still not happy about it.
I can't believe this was built before the new millennium!
Oh I definitely can lol. It's got some of that offbeat quirkiness early B&Ms had.
Just goes to show the extent to which B&M revolutionised the rollercoaster world in the 90s. Rides like this and Batman: The Ride were opened back when Bill Clinton was President, but are just as good now nearly 30 years later as on opening day!
This is the first ever B&M hyper.
@@jjh2456 Well duh...
And before Raging Bull at Six Flags Great America also in 1999!
Love this ride! One of my first if not first over 200 foot roller coasters
Did anyone else notice that the climb is slightly faster than it used to be? If you watch an older pov you’ll notice during the climb that it’s clicking slower than it is now
Didn't they replace the lift chain?
Thank you - That's the way ALL coaster videos should be filmed and presented. From launch, of pre-launch through to full stop at the dismount point.
I went on it today it was so much fun!! Wayy less scarier than I thought 😅
Watch out, Fabio!
I remember hitting the top with my friends and the fake out came and I had an audible "oh fuck me". Overall heart pounding and fun.
Where's Fabio and a goose?
FABIO! Thank you, I could not think of his name.
Wow.. out and back really fast! How old is that ride?
According to the description, opened in 1999
from 99 first b&m hyper
i am scared of roller coasters. this was my second ever ride, and i loved every second.
This Busch Gardens seems to be the real Busch Gardens or the original one, because the one in Tampa only has a handful of good rollercoasters.
I remember when this roller coaster debuted in 1999. That was the second and last time I went to Busch Gardens before this past Friday, July 26, 2024. I didn't get to ride it in 99 because the line was too long. But I got to ride it this year and WOW! I LOVE IT! This is number 3 in my top 3 roller coasters at Busch Gardens. Alpengeist is at number one. Griffon is number two.
I have a question on alpengist is the stomach drop rlly bad?
This ride is fantastic, no hoops or going upside-down, just a fun ride with some spectacular drops. Can’t wait to ride it again! 😁
I wish there were more of those style of rides...
@@basedmathh There's already a lot of these lmao
B&M makes so many of these and most of them are in North America
Same with Intamin, Skyrush is one of the best hypers in the world, with strong airtime and laterals, though the restraints are quite painful.
Magnum is much worse, but has very strong airtime as well.
Morgan hypers are... alright. Wild Thing is horrid, but Phantom’s Revenge, Mamba, and Superman: El Ultimo Escape are some of the best hypers in the world as well and Steel Force is great too!
hoops?
@@basedmathhthere’s like 100 of them lol
@@dibble1331I assume they mean inversions
Hey guys, does this ride give u that stomach feeling, btw i can do alpengeist and manage loch ness but im scared of this one. Any advice helps 😊
Alpengeist and loch ness are both scarier than this tbh. This js has a lot of drops
This ride has a lot of drops. The first one is a good steep drop.
@@cringeken5389rode it tday tysm
@@dsm31877i rode it tday thx
Tryna find the confidence to ride this in a couple days 😭
ITS SO MUCH FUN TRUST ME I was scared when I first went on it but when it ends your like it's wasn't so bad
I kinda think of this ride as a "family hyper coaster" - pretty intense but still tame enough for kids
My mom made me ride this with her, i remember being so afraid as it was my first “tall” coaster, the couple behind us were so sweet and encouraging. It’s intimidating your first ride, but it ended up being so fun! ❤
This looks like a sweet ride!
I remember going on this ride. I felt like it was gonna be the end of me!😂
I hit my head on this ride its terrible!😡
Bro you must be talking bout a different coaster 😂
Skill issue, ngl
My favorite coaster. Perfect amount of smoothness and airtime without beating you to shit like Fury 325
Favorite rollercoaster at Busch Gardens
I wish I weren’t so scared of heights- this looks fun!
In relation to the track and your seat, you aren't high up at all :P Give it a try you'll be surprised
My favorite coaster at my favorite amusement park! I rode this six times in one day. The seats make it unique; you’re not sitting low in a car.
1m 52s the most useless object on the earth appears!!! TB go home.
First ‘big’ coaster I’ve ever ridden. Terrifying but very fun
This reminds me of Phantoms Revenge. I would ride it if I ever go to the park.
I hear Fabio has great memories of this ride. 😉😆
Never got to ride this since it was closed on my visit
I went on it once during the fireworks at night
this ride is the best! it is my favorite one ever. totes recomend.
Best at night😂can’t see the track lol
I should ride it soon.
UWU
Sorry.
Boring.
Next!!!
This was my first real roller coaster!
this ride is amazing! me and my two friends went to busch gardens together and had a epic blast. Appolos we rode alot and was definlety amazing.
Needs more trims, it's making it over every one of the last hills.
IT'S TIME FOR A YANKEE
I built a B&M Twister Hyper Coaster in rct2 a Scenario from rct1 named Ivory Towers all land owned located it at San Marcos Texas Hill County!
I built in just like Apollo's Chariot with a Black and Yellow Striped Chainlift and made the turned out end more twisty longer as i named the Hyper Coaster Hornet turned out really great!
💜AWESOME!!!!💜
I rode this when I was barely tall enough to qualify. I had no idea what I got myself into. Haha!
My favorite Coaster of all time! Volcano at Kings Dominion close 2nd!
This was by far the funnest rollar coaster ive been on
Who’s here after seeing Fabio get blasted by a goose
Why are there like 10 people at the park??
Bonita experiencia subirme al Apollo Chariot
Let get build superman ultimate Flight
best ride evaaaaaa 😝
I love this ride!
This looks fun asffffff
This was the most calm ride I went on when I went to bush gardens
Everyone looks for a calm roller coaster experience. 😂
I went to this ride today and I have to say it’s the best gut wrenching, screaming, xia paio, humbling experience I’ve experienced
For someone who hates the feeling in your stomach when you’re going down a drop. What is the best advice to overcome that fear?
Just do it and try to enjoy the other aspects. After your first big coaster it pretty much goes away
Scream. Screaming helps undo/mitigate that feeling.
@@eliocosmos Yup, it really does. I got my 72 year old mother on this ride and she screamed her head off the entire time...when it was over she was ready for round 2.
I lost my first ever cell phone on this ride. The Lg cosmos 2 touch. Simpler times…
Anyone who has ever been hit with bullshit in people's pockets that shouldn't be on the ride, won't find this story so cute.
Shit fucking hurts.
deserved
@@manbearpig900 And where in the course of this ride do you think people could get hit with stuff falling from the ride?
@@svenlakemeier Is that real question?Because the answer is:
At any point the train is at speed.
Imagine if someone is holding a cell phone at the front of the ride. Then for whatever reason, they let go of it.
Someone behind them on the train could EASILY get smacked in the face.

It's a oversized kiddie coaster
Hate to say it but I really feel like B&M is overrated. I can't think of one I rode that was actually memorable. They do make great inverts and I like those but otherwise find their rides kind of boring. That helix really kills the momentum and then it goes into a brake run.... Ehh.. no wonder I haven't come back to this park much since this ride opened. Hershey and Kings Dominion have better Coasters. Even my home park Six Flags America has Superman which I think is better than this one. Not into drop coasters at all. Alpengeist might be one of the best inverts I ever rode though and Lochness monster was my first full circuit looping coaster so those will always have a special place in my heart. I am planning to go back soon and try pantheon Perhaps that one is cool enough to put this park back on my map.
I was looking through my top list and the only none invert I really liked a lot was incredible hulk at Universal. That is one of the best rides of all time so they are certainly capable just haven't been on many of their best maybe. I also forgot they made the floorless coasters which I do like about as much as their inverts.
this was literally the first B&M hyper ever made. The drop after the brake run gives the best airtime on Apollo's. But yes, Pantheon absolutely is worth the trip. The backwards airtime is the best element I've ever experienced.
Lot's of thrills, The Griffin, is even better!
My top 3 rn are Iron Gwazi, Velocicoaster and this. Love this lil’ guy.
