Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. Al Pacino has made 2 big movies this year. Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the Irishman. Am I the only one who's happy beyond description that he's back???
He deserves an Oscar for The Irishman.
Same goes with de Niro who's been in the Joker and The Irishman. They've both been in some pretty terrible movies in the past 20 years, so I'm glad they're finally back

From the moment the car radio started blasting at around 3:20 I had a smile/grin on my face for the next almost three hours. One of my favourite films ever, instantly! Just brilliant and SO much fun!
I saw this movie four times in the same month and still enjoyed it more each time
Same I saw it in the cinema I’m 15 I snuck in and as soon as the song played and they were pulling out of the driveway I couldn’t contain my excitement my smile was huge

The best way to watch this movie for the first time is in an empty theatre right after work with 2 friends who love QT as much as you do. I'm lucky to have had that experience
This film is the most 1969 thing to come out in the 21st Century.
Once upon a time in hollywood and also Inherent Vice, which I know is set in 1970 but has that feel of the 60s not immediately crossing over into the seventies.
Both movies are absolutely incredible and are extremely true to the time period they inhibit in this case the late 60s/early 70s

not really. that tv western is straight out of the late 50's early 60's.
It's the best version of 1969, beats even the real one. If they'd added "Aquarius" by the 5th Dimension, that would've been even better.

This movie is truly a masterpiece. I didn't see how Quentin could outdo his previous classics but goodness this movie blew me away! I really hope it cleans house during the awards this year. Cinematic masterpiece.
Tarantino and the staff could wrap up some awards but the big ones,I don't think so.Best Actor has to be Joaquin Phoenix for Joker,Best Supporting Actor,now there you could make a case for Pitt but I think Al Pacino deserves it much more for another iconic performance in The Irishman.Best Picture?Hard one to predict,for me personally it's Joker,don't know if the Academy would go that far though.The Irishman is also a better movie I think.

@@JLMODELTEKKEN No back in the glory days of the 70s I saw films that many times..."The Exorcist"...."Jaws"....to name two. This film just keeps giving...as all the best ones do...lines that you keep hearing in your head days later, etc. It's a masterpiece to me as well. I can't get sick of this film lol

RottenHopper Tarantino already has plans to make an extended cut of the film as a mini-series for Netflix, same situation as Hateful Eight.
Instant chills when Cliff fires up the Coupe and “treat her right” plays. Hands down this movie is my best cinema experience. It’s iconic!!!

DiCaprio isn't getting enough credit for his acting in this film..its incredible! The breakdown inside the trailer, his emotional outburst outside the restaurant, the bad acting scene, the great acting scene...all brilliant..To play another actor with different mannerisms and techniques must be difficult.
I agree. I liked Pitt in this movie but the various nuances that DiCaprio puts in the acting the part(s) puts him in class by himself. Brad A, Leonardo A++.

@@AirCanada1J5 The hateful eight comes close and obviously Pulp Fiction holds a place in my heart, but Hollywood truly shows Quentin's maturity and development in film and the way he directed every screen with careful calculation and precision makes this an easy choice for me. I've seen this movie 3 or 4 times and I just now noticed the shots with Roman and Sharon walking in he airport (going around the corner, feet, from behind) are identical to Rick and Francesca towards the end of the movie.
Yep and in this video when Sharon is getting pictures taken by paparazzi it shows Rick walking through the restaurant kinda looking around like damn no one even notices me that’s what I got from the scene atleast

I just watched the movie on DVD yesterday. I had no idea what it was about. Hadn't seen a trailer or read a synopsis, so I had no expectations or preconceived notions of it. That's probably why I loved it so much. I mean the writing and acting in this flick are masterful.
The very moment I caught the Manson tie-in was when Dicaprios character recognized Roman Polanski as his neighbor. But not nearly to the degree that it actually played out.
The young girl who played the hostage was phenomenal support, especially considering her and Dicaprios first encounter...awsome. Not to mention stalwarts Kurt Russell and Al Pacino.
STILL gotta wait one more week to own this!😌

I saw the movie today, great movie, first 2 hours you gonna see the sixties and the last 40 min classic Quentin Tarantino material. btw, where can I see the extended cut 3hrs?
The deleted scene will be on the Blu-ray. The extended cut won’t be available to watch officially outside of its limited theatrical run.
I saw the 3 hour extended cut with my friend and believe me you didn’t miss out much. Before the actual movie starts it shows a beer ad that’s supposed to be a company in the movie. Next was like a 30 second red apple cigarettes ad and wasn’t all that much, last of the extras of the beginning part was a cameo of this one actor forgot his name but you could probably search it up and find it.
Then it is at the end of the movie where you get a few extra clips. They don’t continue the plot at all of the movie and instead are basically longer and extended clips of the fictional shows that were already presented in the movie like JK Hill and Johnny Madrid. Me and my friend were left kinda disappointed but the movie is really good so we didn’t care seeing it again.
Gabriel Mart the cut I saw on the site Soap2Day was only 154 minutes long overall (with credits). Does this movie have alternate cuts?
I heard it might get a four parter on Netflix.

This is such a great scene. But I've always wondered where the cameras are supposed to be during the interview. They took a lot of steps to make it authentic to the time period, but the there should be 3 cameras, and we don't see any.
Yeah I thought the same thing. There's no way an interview would be done back then with three cameras, far too costly. You have to assume, like many interviews, the presenter is asking questions to the camera, on his own. This happened a lot in the past when camera crews etc were expensive. They edit them together later. Its black and white film, ide say QT kept the interview in BW to make it more authentic.
I love how Pitt's character is sitting slightly behind Leo's.

She dances in 3 scenes, there’s another 5 scenes where she doesn’t dance, plus an entire sequence, which shows how an amazingly talented actess she is, precisely because she doesn’t have one single line in 15 minutes, she able to carry that whole sequence without without saying one word

Just bought the movie On Demand the other day. When we were in West Hollywood we went to Musso's and the El Coyote. Coming out of the ElCoyote there was a giant billboard next to the restaurant with the movie on it. Great movie but then we saw Joker. Loved both of them.
