I love Toyota FJ’s. They are amazing. I had an 2007 FJ That I took in some amazingly deep water and mud. I drove it 3 hours with water up to 2” above the drive window bottom seal with a blown out right rear tire. Had no idea the tire was blown out until we got back on dry ground. Also pulled an 2005 Dodge 2500 4x4 buried to the frame in the same mud hole. With my spare on. Just can’t beat the FJ! My opinion!
That can be fixed, not entirely but can look better. Heat from a propane torch or heat gun can restore most of the original look. Then a UV protective coating, like 303, can be applied. It will look almost like new again.
Toyota engines (and Honda at that) are known to last an incredibly long time with basic maintenance using top shelf fluids and filters. As a shade tree mechanic, I've worked on at least 50 Toyotas of varying models and have never done major engine repairs even on 400k mile vehicles. At that point, you'll be doing oil seals and gaskets. Other than that, you can run most Toyotas until they rust away (also not common).
Back in my youth, I had a Mazda B2000 that I inherited from my Dad. By the time we got rid of it, it had over 800,000mi. This was figured out as the truck's odometer only went to 99,999 then would roll over. We had the truck the better part of about 20yrs. We replaced the top end at least 3x that I can recall and at least 5-6 clutch swaps. It was a great truck and my Dad drove it all over the country when we would do roadtrips.

I had a 1993 Nissan 240sx with 289k original miles, original engine and 5spd manual transmission. The previous owner bought it from his neighbor (original owner) who put the first 270k on her. To my knowledge, the head had never been separated from the block, and it had only had one clutch replacement. Truly an insane car. I then drove it just over 1,000 miles from southern Tennessee to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Fantastic little car.

And after all that it has never broken down. 1 alternator change, and an engine check and clean out at 200,000 but despite visiting every state, some extream trails, and basically being under water twice and covered by a sand dune once, it's always run the same. It's dirt, not the nasty dropped food, trash and stuff seen in a lot of the vehicles. Those are the ones that make me wonder how someone lives.

My Toyota FJ has 250,000 and I love it. The sonic cleaner will work as well if you put the bolts in a bag or cup. The basin of the tank should be filled with water. Small amounts of cleaner in a ziplock or a reusable cup place cup or bag in water. Ounces of cleaner and the dirt is in the bag not at the bottom of the tank. Fill the tank with water and the energy will transfer through the cup or bag just as well. Less mess less cost more organized. If you use distilled water the tank will not develop hard water stains. Cheap and easy.
