The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Baltimore is the first Catholic Cathedral built in the United States. Constructed between 1806 and 1863, the stunning neo-Classical cathedral opened for use in 1821 and is considered one of the most important churches in the Catholic history of America. EWTN News' Vice President and Editorial Director Matthew Bunson sat down with Fr. Michael Roach, a Church historian on the faculty of Mount Saint Mary's Seminary to learn more.

EWTN, you have some good content, but a tad bland for RUclips. You need to get some more energetic hosts, with a lot of personality. Also, don't turn off comments. They are a chief reason people watch Catholic videos, the banter in the comments section. Just my $.02. Mother would be very frustrated with the limited view count of your videos. She was all about reaching as many people as possible. Just my 2 cents. Peace.
