- Hi Guys! In this video I scratch build my favourite 40k Tank. I know the scale is a little off but all in all I'm really happy with it. I cover a range of modelling techniques and if you have any questions or would like to know more about materials etc give me a shout. Enjoy!

I don’t play any of these type games, but I just absolutely love watching Worlds being created by very talented creative people, and my god your work has something really very special.
Glad you enjoy it. Just trying to make the kind of videos I like to watch while I paint.
"I found a little fan piece in my bits box...I thought this could be quite cool"
I see what you done did.
Hahaha shhh don't tell anyone. Bonus point to you for having Eagle eyes👍
I enjoy your videos. They are calm, and your voice is soothing. I listen to many audio books, and you have the type of voice that I enjoy listening to.
Thank you that is very kind of you to say.
"somehow muddle my way through" sums up most of my scratch building. good work here
Thanks! You gotta start somewhere and hope the journey leads somewhere haha
Can also sum up my life.
Love this! I look at this and go, "hey a sicarian battle tank" before squinting a moment and saying, "hang on, this is a scratch bash... THAT'S EVEN COOLER!"
Incredibly kind of you to say. Without blowing my own horn too much, it does look pretty cool haha 👍👍👍
For an unprepossessing start; you've turned out a really cool model. You've nailed the look of Imperial Armour.
Thanks dude very kind of you to say
I love how the tank just fits in with the rest of the miniatures
I love this so much dude. Some people just think it's about saving a buck. But that's ignoring all the sheer work, time, effort its takes to make something like this. To say nothing about the dedication, drive and imaginative/problem-solving mindset required. It's such a great challenge to the creativity, and your final result really reflects this!
Really thank you. Such a wonderful comment. I do it because its fun, all that constant problem solving, sure it can be frustrating at times but ultimately what keeps me coming back for more. Happy you enjoyed it!
Great Job !! Unusual style of spray painting , and gardening .😍😍
Thanks! I had the idea to do a few chaos marines with this paint scheme and that grew into a whole army. Lots of extra steps and a definitely a labour of love but when all lined up they look pretty cool 😎
Amazing job! There are few things cooler than scratch building entire 40K vehicles.
Thanks dude. It was a lot of fun to build.
That fits right in, great work!
Thanks really appreciate it 🙏
This video was the thing I needed to watch to convince me to kitbash a couple construction equipment toys into something different and interesting. Subscribed.
Haha u literally just bought 2 plastic toy trucks from a charity store to do that exact thing. It's on the list of videos. Happy building and good luck 👍
This was a very impressive build! The model looks great and your weathering is excellent. Thanks for sharing this.
Cheers dude. Glad you liked it
an amazing piece for the gaming table.
Thanks, really appreciate it 🙏
What an inspiration, I really like your work!
Thank you! If you like this kind of build, there is lots more like it on the channel and I am just painting up a new tank type model - video will follow soon 👍👍
Incredible creativity here. I'm amazed how you can visualize the end result out of seemingly random bits. Fantastic work.
Hahaha It often is as much a surprise for me as it is for you. Most of the time I dont really have a detailed plan and hope that things come together in the end
This was a really nice build, man, bravo 👏 .
Glad you enjoyed it
As I said yesterday. I can’t get enough of your videos. Relaxing. Peaceful creativity I can enjoy and learn from. This build was so much fun. Please do more sci-fi. You inspire me greatly.
Haha I see you have found a few more videos. Very happy to have you and much more to come!
A much more effective [and alive] version of a Sicaran. The genuine model would be too pristine, even weathered etc. Your scratch build has a far more 'real world' lived in [battled in!] quality. I was interested in your use of foam core for internal structure. I'm well aware of its uses in terrain building, but your use in scratch build modelling is an innovation to me. Great work!
Thanks man really kind words and happy you found some inspiration with the foam core. Just build with what I have to hand really
Good gosh, those details! I would never occur to me how a little piece can make such a big difference in a project. I'm always mesmerised by the painting that transforms the whole thing, especially the gold over the black. x
Thanks for your continued support and glad you found it interesting
Abbadon approves for his crusades!
Indeed he does. Thanks for watching!
Bloody hell mate that's epic!
Cheers dude mich appreciated 👍
Great job! I've become very good at terrain building and have been kicking around the idea of attempting some scratch build crafts.
A tip for "filler". You can melt some styrene scraps, even left over spurs, in some asatone and after a couple of days it'll turn into a paste you can then use as filler which will then harden off and it'll be sandable and paint like any other plastic.
Yeah man embrace the scratch build. There are so many crossovers with terrain or diorama builds and realising that it is possible to pretty much build anything. Good luck and would love to see what you build!
Epic build I really love the chunky menacing stance, and the grim dark paint job really ties it all together , really nice work.
Thanks dude. I was really happy with how this came out. Thanks for watching 👍
DAT IZ A PRETTY GOOD MEK... FOR A STINKIN' HUMIE!
Good blue prints for orkez to steal. And blue is lucky 💙
Thank you for doing this video! I've been thinking on kit-bashing a baneblade and macharius tanks using spare bits, pipe tubes, and 1/35 WW2 German tanks. I feel inspired now 😁
Do it! And good luck! Would love yo see what you come up with
It looks great
Cheers dude! Appreciated
That is absolutely epic good job
Thank you, very kind of you to say
Amazing job
Thanks!
Just fucking awesome!
Really nice job battle brother
Cheers dude, thanks for watching
I really liked what i am seeing :D eventhough it makes 100% sense to have tracks covered in mud, I think it would have looked even better with slightly less mud. But this is really awesome build.
but then again ofcourse it need grit and grimey. you mentioned in the video that you use that color in your entire army. I tried to look up other videos to see your army, but it seems you havent got any up :D would love to see the glimmering glory shots :D
I hear you about the mud. A couple of other pleoe have commented something similar. Personal choice I guess. But really appreciate you watching and getting involved 👍
AWESOME BUILD
👍🖖✌️
It’s awesome you stick to your channel theme of Creative Cuts and not switched to Download, Print & Paint. I agree 3D is nice but anybody can download, print and paint a 3D file.. that miliput.. bet that did take a while. Try tamiya putty but I know you work with what you have. Turned out awesome. I forgot who I was watching for a minute 😂 😆
Thanks man. Its 'build, paint and create". But I completely agree with you and I really enjoyed this build. Got the old brain wheels turning for future projects haha
Nice work. I picked up some good tips from this one. Keep it up.
Cheers Chip! Glad you found it useful and thanks for stopping by 👍
Love it.
Cheers mate
Great job, colleague!)
Respect from Russia!)
Thank you!!!
Well, I like that! Only the dragonheads at the end of the turret guns seem undersized
Thanks. It was a choice that I could live with. I thought too maybe it is a touch small but the bigger version made even less sense. Maybe I will change them in the future but for now it will do haha
Amazing scratch build and the reaction between the paint creating the cracks looks like battle damage it looks amazing keep up the good work very inspirational :) 👍
Cheers Ed! Very kind of you to say and really happy it inspired you in some way. More to come 👍
Amazing man. Suche a cool tank style and your scratch build is superb, I’ve I didn’t know it is a scratch build I would think it’s from FW
Thanks dude. I tried to make a rhino many years ago - it was awful and kind of put off trying anything this ambitious but I'm really pleased with how it turned out so the big question is whats next? haha
I love this STUFF
I love using Gorrillia Hot Glue Sticks
great job, youve given me something to think about making :)
Glad you found some inspiration here. Good luck with whatever you create and thanks for stopping by
amazing and incredibly inspiring... I've been airbrushing streaking grime (from a 1:1 to white spirits to a 1:3 or 1:4) but sometimes only to get a subtle darker grimy feel on the hidden parts, it might be much better to do that with liquitex transparent burnt umber which if I'm not mistaken is water-soluble, thanks a lot for the tip!!! definitely subscribing and watching former videos
I have found the enamel based washes like streaking grime work best when applied with a brush. Really allows you to build those streaks. You can be quite rough with it and then pull the streak down with some thinner. Airbrushing transparent water based paints is something I do in almost every build as it filters colours amazingly and gives a great base for heavy weathering. Best of luck man and if your really worried about ruining your hard work then do a few small testers. Get your technique to a point where you are happy with it an then go forth courageously and confident that you have your process down
Sorry about being off topic - but your voice sounds so much like Jack Davenport's, it's uncanny! :D Anyhow - I love your videos, so inspiring!
Maybe grew up in the same part of town. He is about 10 years older than me. Either way I'll take it as a compliment and thanks for taking the time to watch.
Nice
Thanks. Appreciate you taking the time to watch 🙏
I’m gonna be honest at one point I was convinced it was going to look like crap. I was very very wrong. You did a great job, perhaps a little too much mud on the tracks but that’s a very minor nitpick. 9 out of 10.
I appreciate your honesty and happy to have won you round in the end. The amount is personal choice I guess but each to their own. Thanks for watching
Great content!
It looks amazing! Thank you for this video and previous videos It has given me great inspiration for the building method of my Squat Iron Eagle Gyro's, Overlord and the Colossus or Leviathan in 40k scale (archaeopters, dunerider and titan proxies).
Building a second Squat force to support my old squat minis and give some Grombrindals a fitting home. My old squat tech-priests and groms will form AbMech. AbhumanMechanicus: Squats, Ogryn tech-priests (kastelans and ironstriders/dragoons) and grot servitors with a load of additional conversions/kitbashes/scratchbuilds to fit the admech codex. The skitarii vanguard will be in the style of 1987s mercenary Irn-Bonce. Praise the Gromnissiah!
Sounds fantastic. Would love to see what you come up with. Good luck and thanks for watching
@@creativecuts7803 Cheers! Will try to make some pics and vids of the assembled and painted armies. Will take a few months as I have to go abroad for 5-7 weeks. I'm not sure it will look as good as yours, I'm an airbrush noob ;)
@@svenv460 I really mean it even if it takes a while - I would love to see. I have been working on a chaos army for over a year now so I know that sometimes things take time. And re airbrushing - practice and understanding when to use it and when a brush is better. I had to start somewhere too haha. Good luck with your travels!
You deserve way more views wow
Thanks. Really means a lot!
I really want to try this, you probably make it look a lot easier than it is, but the barrier to entry is pretty cheap (aside from the spare rhino parts)
Go for it! Yes the editing hides many hours of head scratching and trial and error but it was my first attempt at anything this ambitious and I am still thrilled with the results even after over a year since I built it.
Love it
Thanks for watching!
You're welcome I've been watching a lot of you guys here and as soon as my computer is finished I'll be adding my works. I hope you are able to watch it when it's done
@@silversscratchbuiltproduct6277 yeah dude 👌 can't wait to watch. Good luck with your pc and be sure to give me a shout when you have something to share. I love watching how whilst the technical side stays pretty much the same, everyone approaches things differently.
nice work
Thanks!
You know your going to be a RUclips success when you ask your viewers to watch paint dry 😂
Great build and paint job!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 this really made me smile!!
Good job
Cheers dude
Bro cool build! I actually want to build something and paint… similar to what you are doing but warhammer is not my cup of tea… can you recommend me similar things to build, paint and play? Thanks!🙏🏻👍🏻
Hey, thanks for watching and getting involved. I completely understand that warhammer is not for everyone. Depending on your interests, there are many different types of models/games available. Games based on historical battles, or star wars inspired games if you want something more futuristic. In all truth I focus more on what I like to build and paint and care less about what gaming system it fits into. Hope that helps a little and good luck with your adventures.
Good job ❤
👍👍👍
Looks good. Is using the hand drill better than using a dremel drill?
Firstly, thank you for watching!! And it was purely because I had my cutting bit in my dremel and couldn't be bothered to change it. A hand drill will give you more control but a dremel will be much quicker
woooww it could be it looks like more ,ike batmans new batmobile itll be perfect
Good stuff. The mud is on the wrong side though.
My tank also has a reverse gear so mud can get into all kinds of places.
Damn that tank shoulda taken the road they some deeerrttyy tracks lmao
Yeah maybe went a bit heavy with the mud but still very happy with the overall result.
The use of the iridescent black and gold paint is genius! It looks so good and such a unique take on the Black Legion. Very different, but instantly recognizable. Great build. I love that rust paint you're using! I will definitely need to pick some up. You planning on doing some more 40k builds?
Yeah man lots of 40k coming. That tub of rust is fantastic. Pretty much instant and great effect. The black/gold flip paint does look fabulous but boy is it a big job for an entire army haha. Gluten for punishment
I made a really nice ork kill tank out of this same toy. Vary nice body.
Hahaha tkmaxx ftw👍
Got a tourney coming up this weekend gonna need six of these…oh wait, never mind LOLZ. Great Job Man
Cheers dude 👍
Really cool! I just have the feeling a real sicaran is a bit smaller than this. A sicaran is between a rhino/predator and a landraider. This thing looks like it could dwarf a landraider...
Haha its about the same size as a land raider maybe a fraction bigger. I was kinda fixed in scale by choosing to use the tracks off a toy but for a game amongst friends its fine. Thanks for watching and taking the time to get involved!
@@creativecuts7803 you're welcome, it was a very entertaining video! Keep up the good work!
Awesome build! Scale really shows up the Rhinos tho! 🧐 Perhaps a little heavy handed on the track mud?
Scale is a little big but not so big it looks daft. Approximately the same size as a land raider. Either way it was fun to build. Thanks for watching
@@creativecuts7803 don’t get me wrong, think your scale is better! Just the old Rhino looks off for a 10 marine transporter. 🤔
Really cool build man! and i think with the new GW "if you made it yourself" rule it seems all your stuff is suddenly legal lol
Yo cheers man. I just wanted to build it because in my head it would really challenge me. Never attempted to build anything like this before but happy it tried haha
Awesome! One thing tho, won't the dirt rot?
Cheers dude. No the dirt has been sat in my studio for 6 months so has been stabalized and using lots of pva basically plasticises it. Another way is to bake it in the oven to kill off any bacteria etc but finding a good answer for when your other half asks you "why you are baking dirt in the oven?" - that's up to you 👍
Awesome! Completely awesome! Do you do commissions?
Haha no not really but also something I have never thought about. Always up for a challenge though. Really appreciate your kind comment and thanks for watching.
I just got a nice Sicaran Predator cast from GWs Russian division and yours is much nicer. Should have waited and built my own.
🤣🤣🤣 my favourite comment so far!
@@creativecuts7803Glad I could entertain.
You make it look so easy I'm at least going to try to weather and muddy mine up like yours. Might try the home made version later.
@@nicholas3478 thats what I like to hear. Dive in head first and reap the rewards. Good luck and I would love to see the result 👍
Subbed. Badass
Nuff said. Thanks!
Amazing build. I consider myself to be a damn good crafter, but when it comes to putting together something like this you make feel like a novice. I do pressure washing as a side gig and I've used some of the spare little O ring washers in a Nier Automata diorama I built. I used them as the eyes on a Machine Lifeform I scratch bashed. Great minds think alike.
Hey man whatever comes to hand right?! But seriously I really appreciate your kind words and having fun and being proud of what you create is what it is all about. And it came out far better than I expected if I'm honest
Still good for the 3rd time.
I see you Bob
Great build although l think you went over the top with the mud as it killed the detail . Really enjoy your channel . Keep up the good work .
Thanks and your not the first to comment about the mud. It fits in well with the rest of my CSM army so it works for me but super happy with the overall result. Never attempted anything this complex before.
Correct me if I'm wrong, were you the actor in my favourite music video of all time?
Shhhh 😉
@@creativecuts7803 you absolute legend, glad to see those knife wounds healed after all these years!
Hard to believe that there was a time when GW actually encouraged its players to make their own vehicles (deodorant stick hovercraft, anyone?). These days there is no way you could set that down on an official tournament table.
Too bad, really. That tank is really sharp.
Tell me about it. Haha. How times change and yet I do what I do because I enjoy it rather than whether its legal in the latest version of the GW wishes. Thanks for watching!!
@@Slicks21 I did not read it, but I have seen the hovertank videos. I only mentioned it as an example of how GW has shifted its focus from a game company to what amounts to a toy company. They want us to keep buying plastic crack. They don't care as much about the rules and games.
Did you ever study Design
They use Foam Core alot
Niiiiiiccceee!!!! :-D
Thanks John. Appreciate your continued support 🙏
How did you know that Bob was my uncle? ;-)
Well played!
GW is crying and punching the air rn
🤘🤘🤘
Fuckin' Subbed.
Let's go.
🤘🤘🤘
What's next on the list?
The dirt kind of ruined it for me, ngl. It does look like its been running through some mud, but it just looks dirty too.
Could have added a little less?
Fair comment! Each to their own I guess. I like the mud but I appreciate its not for everyone. It fits in well with the rest of my army and I never would have thought I could actually build a tank from scratch. Either way thanks for watching 👍
I made a load of Ork vehicles coz im crap....i wont do imperial coz im crap
I thought the same. The last time I attempted anything like this was 3 years ago trying to scratch build a predator which ended up looking shockingly bad. But if you don't try you will never improve. And toying with starting a custom ork army when I finish my black legion. Purely to build more crazy vehicles.
The mud on the tracks ruined a good thing
Sorry you didn't like the mud. I like it but that's very much a choice. Thanks for watching either way 👍
It's hilarious going through your vids, how often that transfer sheet from the fighter jet you never built comes up. Best wasted money you ever spent.
Haha I have been found out lol. I have to admit it was a great transfer sheet. Full of all kinds of warning signs and numbers etc. I think that kit will just slowly get nibbled at. I got my eye on the missiles for a project already. Nice one 👍
too much mud man, weathering shouldn't look like you dropped your mini in the goop on your way to the LGS. It also hides all your magnificent work.
30k tank*
Teknikout is the word to express that!🫵
🙏👍👍
