Yeah, i had one of those. Heavy as hell and had 720i resolution too. Still, I wanted one of these boxes for a while to sort of round off the collection.
@@UncleMikeRetro I just remembered what I did with my DTV box after we got an LCD TV. There are some LCD PC monitors that came with a composite input. Particularly some higher end DELL older LCDs. We had a Dell 2007WFP I found at work, so we connected the composite output to the DELL LCD. Somehow the DTV and the LCD worked together to run the widescreen DTV signals, on the widescreen LCD without the black bars on bottom and top. The audio I got an adapter from the two RCA audio outputs to a set of normal PC speakers. Boss never realized we had a TV.
I still have our original digital tuner from the switch, we even did the rebate so it cost us nothing. Most importantly, I have the remote that goes with it.
yeah i had one for comcast, but they charged for it and i didnt really use it so i dropped it. I use mythtv as well so as long as i have a device that can output to the tv then the digital is handled by the cablecard. My sympathy in seeing your possibly a fellow lion victom i mean fan ;-)
@@UncleMikeRetro I kept a Compaq CRT monitor for some time even though LCD screens were available! The only reason is it came with JBL speakers! I occasionally find monitors in dumpsters or curbside stuff!
Hi Mike, how are you? I have a video of a dell optiplex and I would like you to see it and give me your opinion. I trust your wisdom and I think you could help me. You could give me an address to send you the video?
Nice, I'd watch The Flinstones anytime!
Meet the Flintstones!
I like using a DTV converter once in a while. I love using my tubes for stuff like my PlayStation 2, but it's fun to use a TV as well, a TV.
I like dragging this set into the open now and then myself. retro arcade gaming!
I had one of those boxes for a while. But there were a few CRT TVs towards the end of production that came with DTV receivers.

@@Alcochaser Clever guy! I love that!
More fabulous stuff from Uncle Mike!
Only the finest retro crap!
@@UncleMikeRetro CRT = Crappy Retro Tech!
That’s a nice tv! What year is it from and does it have the composite input?
1998 and yes! composite! also audio in!
Ah yes, the digital switchover... it was a huge mess!!
Yes! Also, who finds a working digital TV tuner at Goodwill? This guy! I love static on analog TV.
I still have our original digital tuner from the switch, we even did the rebate so it cost us nothing. Most importantly, I have the remote that goes with it.
oh, now that's nice!
Hi Uncle Mike - does your cool 1994 20” Zenith CRT have A/V RCA ports in the back or is it one of those RF coax only type sets?
composite video and audio in with RCA jacks!

No sympathy needed 😒 I never had to but one of these as I had a digitally tuner set myself back then. Kind of a neat thing for $3.00
It’s possible to actually get ATSC 3.0 tuner to Coax
I have a modulator that can make it work from the HDMI port
That's a good idea to use it😊
done!
I use a 30 inch CRT for all my TV in my living room. I watch old television shows so I don't care if its HD or not.
you are a champ!
in Indonesia, we call the tuner as "Set Top Box" a.k.a STB
looking back, we call it a STB here too. I never had one before!
@@UncleMikeRetro I never knew it too before. I'm watching your video with my 14" Samsung CRT TV
nice!
It's called a converter!
i never watched this video but youtube puted it in the "continue watching" section
how odd! it is the long version of my short about this TV 🥰
When you stare at a CRT after long years of LCD use it just feels so weird.
it feels homey!
It's hard to think that we used them for so long!
@@j.lietka9406 And that we even had them. Distant memories.
