- The RR390 is Beta’s biggest-selling four-stroke in Oz. But why is that? Because of its head-turning price tag? Or the fact it remains the only 390cc enduro bike on the market? Or the incredible traction created by its torquey long-stroke powerplant? Or because it offers the ideal combo of agile handling and broad power? Having put the refined 2021-model RR390 through its paces for a few days with enduro legend, Geoff Ballard, we reckon it’s a combination of all those elements.

Reaching out to the Beta community, can someone comment on the seat height compared to the last generation of the bike? My bro has an 18 300RR and that bike handles well, I believe, due to a lower seat height. Does the newer design have a taller seat height? Got my eye on the 390. Thank you! 👍. PS. Why can’t the MC rags do a KTM/Husky 350 v Beta 350 - 390 comparison? That is the shootout most midsized 4-stroke buyers want to see.
Yeah, looked good so I bought a 2021 390 RR Race. Wasnt easy ... not one dealer could get me one. The distributor got it for me. Apparently it was the last one off the line for that year. Arrived from the factory in Italy without a muffler/exhaust. Dealer put a used, noisy crappy FMF one on it that I absolutely hated and it was not the one that came with the stock bike. Within a couple of months, it was in for a top end gasket replacement. A month later it need a fuel sending unit. Also, the speedo unit did not work when I got it. When I finally received the exhaust/muffler two months into my season, the tire hit the insideof the muffler and made big black marks. Beta said this was normal in the email they sent me. The LED aftermarket lights the dealer put on also didn't work and they weren't able to figure out where the problem was. Also lost a head pipe bolt within a few hundred kms. PDI was abysmal. Distributor provided absolutely no help whatsoever though they were aware that the bike shipped with parts missing.
Seems like the fuel sending unit stopped working again. Haven't troubleshooter it yet to see what it could be.
I absolutely loved the 390 I demo'd. I still don't trust them enough to purchase one unfortunately.

Nice to see a review of the 2021 390rr as there isn't much out there. Geoff doesn't seem to actually say much about the bike though - did he like it? Or did he not think too much of it and is just being diplomatic?
(I have this exact bike and I think it's great, btw - I just don't have as much to compare it to as he does!)

I didn´t understand the point of this review, it lacks a deeper analysis of performance, reliability, and a little more passion, kind of grayish and without clear direction, come on guys you could have done much better than this, sorry!!!
Dudes boots are tight 😳 every time he moves those things are creaken and cracken !
I’m thinking between the 350 and 390. I’m looking for the more mellow, puppy dog ride. I had a couple 300’s and an fe350. I like the feel of the Betas.

Do you think the 2022-2023 race with the KYB would set this bike apart from the competition making it far better?
I think if you are a faster guy I would go Race Edition with the KYBs

I just hope that Beta doesn't sell out to KTM like Husqvarna did; that way they can keep innovating at their own pace.
