Was fantastic. We did 2000km in 7 days. I used my giant loop coyote bag with rogue drybag, 2 possible pouches and Diablo tank bag. No rack needed. Although nomadic and pro moto billet(very expensive) just realeased racks for 2020+. I also carried 8 extra litres of fuel in my coyote bags using a pair of reda innovations gas cans.
Russ. I just realized that it was your video of mud lakes I watched. We went up the west side of harrison and camped there the first night. It was an awesome spot.
Really great setup and video. Looking forward to doing this with an XR400r with dual sport stuff. Maybe with a small covered hammock for warm weather. I bet if you set up Amazon lists or similar with recommended gear, people would use it to help support the videos.
Great video! Just set up my 500 RR-S with Mosko Moto reckless40 to do this very thing. Difference being that there’s no way in Hell I’d roam around that grass with Brown snakes and shit! I’ll take my chances with our Canadian Grizzly Bears any day!! Do you have to check your sleeping bag to make sure a slithery death isn’t waiting for you when you crawl in? 😂 Cheers
Hi Gary that is really funny taking the Grizzly bear option over the brown snake. LMFAO. We rarely see any snakes 🐍 probably about 1 or 2 a year. Most of the snakes are quite afraid of humans and will disappear when they see you. Never had one in my sleeping bag mate. Was tempted to go the 500 and I still question the final decision. Both great bikes Regards Steve
Now thats the kiss theory in practice, (keep it simple stupid) and the good thing is u can still do multiple days just need more food plenty of little towns over that part of vic.
Hi Mate, the front indicators are just the stock units that come with the bike and the rear are just cheap LED Ebay lights there's tons of them on Ebay Thanks for watching Regards Steve
Hi Riste should be no problem the subframe on my 480 was also plastic and I had no problems with that. Keep your luggage forward right near or on the end of the seat and it will be no problems. I only put a max of 15 kgs of luggage on the back which is my light weight camping set up. If you want all the luxuries maybe go to a bigger bike Thanks for watching Regards Steve
Hi DiBuff the Drz 400 has similar bore and stroke to the 390 so engine characteristics are similar but the Drz is a lot heavier and less agile and is really only a trail bike. The 390 is a full enduro that can be raced. It depends on your weight and size as to what size bike u get. For the average person with a bit of gear start at the 350 CC mid size bikes. Ktm/ Husky 350 or 500. Wr 250/450. Honda Crf300. Drz 400. Beta 390/480. Sherco 300/500. Aaahhh so many choices Thanks for watching Regards Steve
@@dirtbikeadv Thank you! What is the maintenance interval for such bikes? I mean, how often should I change oil and air filter when riding on trails (not racing)
Hi Bis the 390 had the stock gearing still mate which was 15/48 I think but if you were doing a lot of on road riding you might want it a bit taller Thanks for watching Regards Steve
Yeah Hi Paul the 390 would do about 140 before it hit reserve and probably about another 20-30 kms on reserve. The 2015 480 would do about 300 kms on a 15 litre tank. Most 4 strokes will do 5 litres per 100 lms and some a fair bit better. The Beta's are no different. I personally worked on getting 130 km's out of the 390 before I hit reserve just to be conservative and have my bases covered Regards Steve
Hi Geoff it's manners are good on the open roads no problem there but would I ride an enduro bike down a highway..... Not really too far. The lighter weight enduro bikes would get blown around on highways by trucks and the wind a bit but they will do it I just wouldn't go too far. They will sit on a 100kmh if U have the right gearing but you are going to clock up the oil changes pretty quick. Regards Steve
Beta 390 riders unite! The ULTIMATE light ADV. Thumbs up :-)
Yeah there's a world wide following:)
Nice vid. An inspiring little adventure ride for someone considering this future. Cheers
Great vid, good to see you getting out with a light setup.
Mate awesome viewing
Iv got a 430 21 I’m definitely into a few brews on a over nighter
Keep the content coming chief🤘
Cheers from BC Canada. Just about to take my 2020 390 on its first multi-day adventure in a few days.
Let us know how it goes 😁
Nick how fid it go? Whats your set up?
@@dirtbikeadv What year is yours? No rack solutions at all for the 2020 and 21 years.

How about that plastic new subframe? I have XTrainer 2019, but the subframe was metal, and now it is plastic? How exactly this is going to hold?

What are some alternatives of this bike? Would any four-stroke 400cc enduro bike be able to handle both enduro riding and adv/long distance riding?

What sort of fuel range are you getting? Looking at 480 but are seeing reports of 130kms for the tank which seems excessive
