Interesting...I raced a Greeves Griffin back in 1967 through 1969, in Oregon and Washington. 250 two stroke Villiers engine. Wheelie monster that excelled at Hare and Hounds and scrambles. When the new foam sock type air filters came out, I put one on the bike. Raced a scrambles and at the end...the foam sock was gone...ingested and spat out. The Griffin never even hiccupped! They started putting a spring in those type filters soon after. Hi Ho Greeves Griffin!
worked as a mech and test rider at DPG for H-D and Buell at DPG in Mesa AZ at this time. we had about 8 Griffin fuel tanks outside on a rack for UV testing. we never had anything else, obviously no bikes. our lead mech went to wisconsin to ride dirt bikes with Buell. he had no comments on his return, was sworn to secrecy. plus he was a fat harley mechanic who couldn't ride haha.
Worked in moto industry in Northern IL, mybe 2 hours from Buell at the time of this. It was too close to the fallout of the Cannondale nd like you said the impending economic crash. Also Dave O rules
Buell is taking orders for a model called the Baja 1190 Dune Racer. Their headquarters is about 45 minutes from my house, and the promotional photos were taken at Silver Lake state park, also about the same distance away, in the other direction. The early 2000' was manufacturer madness. Cool vid.
@@nicmainville9954 buell isint buell withought buell. he's the guy and is still doing work. what this is the company that was contracted to handle the auction of ebrs assets just took over. now they are taco belling the same 1190 platform from 15 years ago and crunching out the same parts into as many different shapes as possible. and along the way bought the buell brand name from harley. buell the guy is off doing other stuff like some moto2 frame development and more recently the fuel fllow.
you are approaching fortnine quality levels on your vids.... invest in some highend microphones and youll be nearly on par. I wish my other hobbys had as good creators as motorcycling .
Didn't Buell just win the Ama hill climb a few years ago? And launched there dune racer dirt bike this year. Ever seen the air cleaner on a Harley Pan Am? Eric Buell had a racing addiction. What about Fuell electric motorcycles?
Great video's but somehow with very little views? I have boring dull straight forward video's on my channel that get more than this... I would very much like to hear/see your view on the Stark Varg, hell you could even use mine if you weren't half Europe away.
I had to do a small change and re upload the video, the original had almost 50k views, that’s why the views are so low. Who knows, maybe we’ll do something about the Stark one day ...
Having owned and restored several Cannondale -ATK's..... I'm glad they didn't follow their designs. You had to pull the entire engine down from the frame to access the valve train! The bikes were so unreliable.
There is NOTHING wrong with blank slates. It sounds like ego and disconnect from the real world that were the problems. Dont look to copying designs to keep egos in check
Another we'll researched & presented Video. You & Fort9 are the benchmarks for moto-journalism.
Appreciate it!
I gotta throw the boy born a goon in there too. They are the three pillars of moto journalism
@@dannyboy1688 fully agree!

Harley Davidson will throw millions behind something they want. HD spent $116 Million to shut down the New Buell Factory in around Jan. 2009 .
Harley Davidson is crap company and bikes too. Especially today. Heavy, low quality and dangerous bikes.
Karma is real, cuz their Livewire brand can't even sell:))
They were always propped up and bailed out, even by Warren Buffett. Look at them now... Bud Lite on wheels. Their Italian bikes were nice 👍
Great content. Very informative and entertaining, even with the lack of data available. Hope this channel takes off!
Thank you sir!
6:03 That's a large capacity tool changer. Probably for a horizontal mill that's connected to a large pallet pool. Just FYI.
It was a cool bike to see in person at Barber! Well done video sir!!!!

That's buell in name only, Eric buell has nothing to do with it.
@@justinbevier8231so what? Buell is taking orders for new bikes.

2008 sorted out a lot of bad ideas, some good ones too.
Love the content!
Nice video. Do you have any information about the BIMOTA/JOTAGAS BBX 508?

The street bikes are Monsters in amateur racing, they are so god damn composed.
00:51 that was sad my man couldn’t clear a table top lmao
My god your channel should be doing so so much better, it's outstanding content! Love every video going back through all the videos
Any chane of a Cannodale video?
They put a go cart engine in a dirt bike?

Can you do a cover story on the rising fall of Maico motorcycles
Ugh... It's sad. No.
Bad idea.
split seat like a Yamaha, sort of
Yeah, I came here to say that

Buell is weird goofy over engineered motorcycles. None of them are excellent. Just different
They all handled amazing though, I’ve ridden quite a few of them and all of them will carve a canyon road, they are like SAAB to me.
@@CoreyGolphenee is it true that it has 3 gear driven counterbalancers in engine
Sounds like egos slowed progress
