Hey Cam, nice lite adv build. I have a 500/700 miles so far. Your spot on with your assessment. Thanks for the report on the oil pump gears. I will follow suit and replace at a similar interval. I’m still uncertain about the kick starter, as I’ve heard (?) you need dc battery power to pressurize the fuel injectors???? Look forward to your next vid. Enjoy section 3&4!
Cam, the led buld will only make it about as good as the 2022 and up bikes. If you want real usable light, get the baja design pro. For the rad fan, look into getting a manual override switch.
Excellent! Terrific level of detail. Thank you very much! This video is what has put me over the decision hump. I was going to buy a Yamaha T7, but I realized after renting for about 7-8 days of BDR rides that this bike will be a better match for my skills and where I want to go. I could take the T7 down almost anyplace I want to go, but when you drop it, it’s no fun to pick up. Just need to decide between a used 390 and a 500. Any thoughts are welcome. I’m 6’ 2 220lbs. Definitely getting a bigger fuel tank, bike protection and a SC seat.
Nice one! This is one of the key reasons I got my bike, is I can go anywhere and by myself. An Adventure is not an adventure if you don't want to ride something because of your bike. For the longer rides like BDRs, I would go the 500 all day. Hope this helps, cheers
Another tip for you & the rest of the guys & girls. Raise your gearbox breather hose up under your seat. My wife & I sucked water into the gearboxes after a not so deep river crossing last Sunday. 2 friends on a KTM & Husquy had no problems with their breathers being up under der their seats. Good videos mate. Keep it up. 👍
@@advtorque - I bought a 2023 last year and the stock seat was killing me, too high and firm. Scored a near new SC Low from eBay for about $275, well worth it.
Absolutely, having ridden BDRs on a 2020 500 RR-S, it makes an excellent bike. I have loaded up that bike with a mosko 40 setup and a 1 gal rotopax strapped right behind the seat and it did wonderfully. I have wondered if I'm taking my chances with the subframe so might get the Nomadic rack but the bike is a beast.
Hey, I think they say you can do every 30 hours, but I typically do around 12-15 hours. More than I need too, but oil is cheap. One good thing is clutch separate from main engine oil.
Don’t notice anything, I do have wheels balanced. I rode a 2022 KTM 500 and holy crap vibrations coming up through your legs! Was crazy. Don’t get that on the beta.
I have a 2023 500, smooth even before balancing the wheels. I have 10 - 30 miles to some of our trails and it's great on county / state highways, lots of fun in town, too.
While the KTM/FE501 is a great bike, the vibration is just stupid - your fillings will fall out. In that respect, it’s a second rate bike. The vibrations make it feel like the KTM 500 was made in the Soviet Union.
All the emissions crap is a scam to rob performance on something you may need to save your life one day. Bikes are fun but they are very useful and anything useful to the masses is taxes out the ass and riddled with engineered obsolescence. Good thing we have work aroynds. Thanks man.
Or cargo ships that burn hundreds of tons (metric) of Marine heavy fuel oil (basically crude oil) per day, but my little 300cc chainsaw is subject to stringent emission requirements. The whole thing is a sham
@@StephenHerman-zi9cb if you have a accurate torque wrench i.e one that hasn't been ratline around in a tin can. Then your not going to hurt anything by re torquing (use recommended bolt torque pattern of course)
Beta Customer Support sounds like the opposite of KTM.
Excellent info, thank you Sir.

Thanks for the video. Thinking about replacing my KTM with a Beta!

@ Many thanks!
Any idea how this would perform as super moto? Looking to ride around town and take it to the trails when I’m able! Thanks for the input!
They would rip as a supermoto!
Great video
Hey Cam. I put a Concept Seat on my 390 here in Aussie & man, What a difference.
Hey thanks, yeah I am thinking of doing the same! Thanks for the comment.

Would you say it would make a decent multi day BDR bike? Would the subframe handle the weight of luggage?
Hi, I am hoping so, I plan to do some BDRs on the bike with some soft luggage and camp.

I'm considering this bike, so thanks. How many oil, oil filter and air filter changes in these 100 hours? Thanks!

@@advtorque Thanks. So, do you change both clutch and engine oil, as well as oil and air filter every 12-15 hours?
Hows the vibrations on the 480? had a FE501 and it was terrible

Yep, meanwhile every single jet thats flying is burned leaded jet fuel.

Is the Voyager mount "OEM" or aftermarket?
Hi, that came with the bike from factory. Cheers

did you have to re torque the head bolts?
No I haven’t had too. Is it meant to be a thing. Mine have been good.
thanks. im debating if i should do it or not, im only at 2 hrs noe
