Boise, Idaho - On July 26, 2023, after 10:00 p.m., 28-year-old Macey Juker placed a 911 call to dispatch showing signs of mental illness and stating he had an assault rifle. Dispatch could hear shots being fired over the phone. Law enforcement and residents also heard the firearm in the neighborhood of the 600 block of N. 19th street in Boise, a populated residential area. Law enforcement officers arrived at this location to find Juker with an assault rifle. Juker initially put the weapon down and complied with law enforcement orders. He then retrieved the weapon and ran from officers, before turning to aim the weapon back at the officers. As Juker aimed the weapon at officers, the officers and Juker opened fire. After being hit, Juker went to the ground. He then raised the rifle and fired additional rounds at the officers. Officers returned fire and Juker was hit and succumbed to his wounds. A loaded AK-47 style semi-automatic rifle was recovered at the scene.

I feel like this particular one had more to it. The guy called 911 to lure the cops there, like an ambush. He started the shooting while on the phone, making sure lots of cops showed up. And he kept shooting even after he went down. He chose that. I feel like he was after some revenge or something. He could have killed innocent people and cops. If it was only himself he wanted to hurt, he just needed to point that gun, not even shoot it, and the officers would have opened fire. But he did shoot at them and kept shooting until the very end. they were waiting for more units since he still had the gun near him
Exactly what the 2nd cop was thinking he was in the middle of telling the guys around him they gotta do something cause he's gonna second guess and the dude immediately did that grabbed the rifle and took off
My thoughts exactly. He had dropped the gun, was being compliant and following directions but they paused for a minute and just gave him too long to think.
They had an opportunity to either get him to move further from the gun or else to move in and cuff him. Instead, there was a rabbit in the headlights pause and that's when he decided to take a chance and run.
That was the alcohol going deeper into his system
The officers even knew that the longer they kept him there like that the greater the likelihood of everything going south. Was almost like the officer and young man were on the same page as he was saying we gotta secure him before he gets up, the kid got up.

What type of hand flashlights this officers are using?
This is a case where the caller wanted to commit suicide, but was afraid to do it. He called 911 and said all of the things that were needed. When police got on the scene he had second thoughts, but the local police protocol didn't allow for units to move in swiftly to take the subject into custody.
