Silver Horse is the Golden Horse plus the toggle switch that adds other tone. If someone wants to buy the Golden horse and the Silver is the same price, get the Silver, you'll get a free toggle and another tone !
That's what I was thinking, same pedal with the Voice toggle switch. Just watched another video of a 4 pedal Klone comparison. The Gold Mosky was the most affordable, but definitely was the lower scored among the 4 Klones, there was an EHX & Wampler pedal in that mix, forget the name of the other one. Anyway, I wasn't sure the difference between the Silver & Gold, so maybe get a Silver & Gold like a salt & pepper package ? Maybe the Silver is an update that addressed any differences in the Gold to other Klones ?
I've got a golden and a silver and as nearly as I can discern the little toggle on the silver does nothing... initially I thought it did but doesn't change anything...
I thought the same and was a little bit disappointed, but then I found that if you rise the gain and volume knobs at 3 o'clock or more, the switch does make a clear difference in tone. So it's not useless as it may seem. Try it and you'll hear it
@@kerrykroger7323 On my silver one UT definitely makes a difference. When I switch up, the level definitely goes down. When I switch down the level goes higher with a lot more definition but I have to back off on the drive .
Just buy both 😂
Hero, no one expected but everybody needed
I'm finding myself looking for your videos more now to hear you play...of course I love the checking out of gear, but your playing takes the experience of gear review to a whole new level 👏👏👏👏
I agree with you completely, Arthur!
I have the golden horse and it's very good it's the same sound as the klon
I have the Silver Horse, and it works well with my distortion pedals, and sounds great as a stand alone, too.
the Silver Horse has become my favourite OD pedal.
Same
Top marks for the tasteful playing in this review. I do find it amusing though that so may pedal makers talk about gold and silver when Bill Finnegan has mentioned in many interviews that they have the exact same circuits, as has the KTR for that matter, I wonder when we'll see a red one ;)
I bought the silver horse and it is my main pedal with my boost pedal, great tone in this pedal
I really love your noodling!!
I have the silver horse in a loop. If you have these pedals in loops and never actually touch the foot switch. They are fine. I’ve got the silver horse it’s great. Just ordered a gold horse
They have the same circuit, the difference is that the silver it has an extra switch. I have the golden horse since a while, it is an excellent little pedal, youtube it has a lot of videos about it, and even comparing it with the Klon Centaur, and it nails it very close. The Boost it's great. China it is a country with a lot of great skills and are able to make "things" with a great quality, just like with this pedal.
Copy. Not so much make.
guys try it on a medium gain Marshall, wow it's a beast, classic EVH brown sound with lots of volume, incredible sound !
I know I am kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Willie Jensen lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
@Dario Kashton Definitely, have been using flixzone for since april myself :D
@Dario Kashton Thanks, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) Appreciate it !!
@Willie Jensen happy to help :D
Both great pedals. The gold horse mosky is my favorite from them
god damn these are nice tone.
Thanks for the demo man
Silver Horse, all day long! Better highs and mid-range!
Subscribing to your channel was seriously detrimental to my bank account. Oh wait, this is only $30? Nevermind, I'll stick around a bit longer.
Yeah Ryan is the man !!
had to wait through the whole video to find out the the voice switch on the silver wouldn't even be used
Found a photo on Amazon that explains what it does, it's a Soft vs Normal clipping switch. Down is Soft, Up is Normal. That's as good as it gets as Normal.
beautiful playing
The Silver Horse sounds so much better with the "voice" toggle switch down/off, in my opinion. If it sounds the same as the Golden Horse with it activated, then the Silver Horse is definitely the better one out of them both (since it was being held back).
Love it man! Great tone… what amp did you run it through?
Seems to be a lot of buzzing from these ? Is it that bad in person? As an overdrive these are too cheap and sound too good not to try from the reviews I’ve watched so I’m gonna get onto amazon I reckon, lovely review dude thanks a lot .
I own a golden horse and it sounds pretty damn good. It sounds like a Klon, taking the best bits of your dry tone and making it better. although the jacks and footswitch are pretty low quality, that's to be expected.
Mine are quite noisy, but I run a noise suppressor at all times to help with that
Do you think it's possible to put either of those after the OD, or in the FX-Loop just to put the volume up during a solo?
Should work, although a boost pedal would have more clean gain
Cool riff dude!
Sounds like the silver has more bottom and low mids.
The gold horse is great but the silver horse sounds better.
Like so many comparison demos the change from one to the other isn’t done quickly enough to hear the difference, more helpful would be to do just one lick on one, then immediately do the same on the other
Thanks for the comment :) I'm often thinking about how I can improve these videos for people, I appreciate the feedback
The town was pretty dark overall so I thought the silver has better with everything set in the middle that's all
What does the toggle do exactly? EQ/sound wise. I assume the up position is silver, and down is gold. But how do the character of both of these sounds differ? Thanks!
at the 3:40 mark the Silver Horse seems to be a bit brighter
it`s bright sound on the toggle up . toggle is down = same sound the golden horse
muslady is the same than musky is it the same trademark?
These sound similar to mosky obsessive ocd copy. Can anyone confirm if these aren't the same pedals?
Are they also working as signal buffer/boost or just making overdriven sound?
It has a great Boost
Yes yes and yes!!
I use my golden for treble boost, gain almost minimum and treble on 3/4, Volume adjustment. Works perfectly with my amp's drive (Blackstar HT40)
The klon was 200$ back when I I started buying pedals. Other pedals were more expensive than the klon. I think they are great and the hype is justified. Thanks Mosky audio and other brands cloning klons that are not expensive. Unlike jhs wampler etc who sell the same thing for nearly 10 times the price of a fantastic clone. They probably need the money for their rascist church plate. Buy that ticket to heaven Josh Scott 😂 seriously thanks Mosky.
ryan plays hard picks so it is better to hear the sound of the drive or distortion pedalthere were some parts that you played hard picking and you could notice the sound of the pedal but play the whole video😎😎😎😂😂😆
What's funny is that these are actually more different than real silver and gold klons
I'm bought it from china cuz this channel but my sound its not better than this video i think my low budget amplifier haha i used fender strat
Its hard with amps and guitars everything sounds different haha what amp do you use? A good amp is always a great investment :)
My amplifier is Randell Kirk Hemmet Signature but im bought it 7 years ago haha not problem with sound, sound is simple i wanna find new AMP soon haha
Would you mind recommend me for choose a new amplifier?
@@armananda22 can't go wrong with a vox ac10, 15, 30
@@armananda22 I've had my Fender Blues Deluxe for more than 20 years, played hundreds of gigs with it and it's still going strong (had a couple of repairs over the years). You can pick them up fairly cheap 2nd hand and they work for most styles (maybe not so good for metal, although they can do it fine imo).
both of these pedals are crap if you think you're getting something quality for $30 I got a bridge to sell you
Better (mildly more expensive but still) budget options are the NUX Horseman, Caline Pegasus, or Tone City Bad Horse.
Only tried the Horseman out of these.. a bonus about that pedal is you can switch between gold and silver settings in the one pedal :) two pedals in one!
I watched another video where it demonstrated that the tone difference isn't too great between silver and golden modes (after adjusting for volume), but it is neat to have a boost switch I suppose.
NUX Horseman has a similar mode switch as-well.
There are $60 chinese DIY-build klones selling on eBay, AliExpress, Wish etc. as-well. Just search 'Klon'. The circuits look to me (amateur) emulate the original PCB layout fairly well...
They have decent review so I ordered one, here's hoping it's faithful.
