they are one of the oldest brands that still produces golf equipment on tour level, but they simply missed the train and even if they would grow by 10% each year, it would take them decades to catch up with TM, Callaway etc. What really didn't help was the unfortunate "Prostaff" line of set clubs. I would really like to meet the dumbass who decided to name a set of beginner's cheaply made clubs Prostaff when they have a Wilson Staff brand established. Their Infinity putters are one of the best deals currently on the market, I was a big fan of Cleveland HB putters because I love full milled face without any inserts and have bunch of their models, but the Wilson putters, for the same price, already offer great grips, which Cleveland doesn't (even though the 2019 line got a lot better, yet still not good enough), and much better head cover (well, better velcro, Cleveland uses the cheapest nastiest loudest velcro that is sometimes impossible to undo one-handed). Try finding some Infinity putter review on youtube, besides hald a dozen amateur videos there are 2 o 3 one-minute skits and that is it. I honestly believe if Wilson would charge 250 instead of 100 for the putter, all the top golf youtubers would have made videos with 3 different head sizes.

Thank you for looking at Wilson. I have been playing these new staff blades for several months now. I am an older player and had them built with KBS 105 reg shafts. Oh my, they are so awesome. I have always liked forges irons but these are the best yet. I suspect that little milling on the back of the club head also allows precision weighting for the build.

I purchased a set of Wilson D7 irons a couple of months back and I'm delighted with them for the forgiveness, distance and feedback from the clubs, not to mention the great value price. I selected them after comparing with all the equivalent irons in the same category from the other brands, which are all more expensive (Ping G410, Mizuno JPX919 hot metal, Taylormade M6 etc. ). For the wedges I went for Cleveland CBX2's which are also cavity back clubs, so are an ideal match, you just have to choose the lofts carefully to avoid a big gap with the D7 PW iron.

I purchased a custom fit set of D7 irons 5-PW back in November as I returned to the game following a 15 year break, a year and a half ago. I got a 17 handicap and haven’t made any progress in that year and a 1/2 so was looking for a confidence boost. My old Wilson Di5 irons were great however, after a club demo day and a custom fit I was told my old irons were 1/2” too short as I’m 6ft 1” and also needed the toe raised by 2 degrees. Well a confidence boost is what I got. I was worried about ball flight, as in height as read a couple of reviews saying that “due to he decreased loft on each club the flight wasn’t great”, load of trap. These clubs are longer but fly beautifully and are so sweet to hit. They don’t look too chunky when looking down on them in fact I think they are stunning. Since the beginning of December I’ve tracked my cards and have on average over 10 rounds been playing to a 15 handicap and I’ve changed nothing but my irons! I haven’t had a gap session yet however, this is on the cards. I paid £359 for a custom fit set including mid size velvet tour grips and I’m so glad I did. If you’re a mid to high handicapper looking for a bit of confidence these clubs might just be the choice for you and probably the lowest price of a premium brand. Great review and a long time coming to be fair.

Wilson have always made beautiful looking irons, especially the blades. "Back in the day" they were the club all other manufacturers copied. "Back in the day" I played a blended set that had a number of Wilsons in it. I even played Wilson wood (yes wooden ones) and they were as good as anything else. I have no idea why they fell out of favour. I'm loving they design nods to the classic Wilsons of "back in the day" :)

The Wilson Staff Model Forged Blades start at $1050 US on their website here in the states (lots of custom options available). That is for a 7 club set 4i through PW. The Wilson D7 Forged are $900 4i through PW. Good prices compared to the market but not the value or consistency you would get from the Ben Hogan Ft Worth White blades at $700 for 7 club set or the PTX Pro irons for $800. Hogan does provide limited customization options for their irons as well. No manufacturer makes a better product for the price than Hogan in my opinion. My only knock on Hogan is the inability to order a combo set. The thing I do like the most regarding the Wilson Staff Model Blades is all of the customization options they offer. This will raise the price based on shaft, grip, paintfill etc. but getting your new set of irons exactly as you want them and how you were fitted is great and they have loads of options!
    Great video

My first set of irons was an old Wilson Staff CI9 set that I bought used from a used sports shop. Were excellent learners clubs. Irons felt solid and had wonderful forgiveness, although the sweet spot may have been a touch small for a "game improvement" iron. But honestly, those clubs made me feel Wilson doesn't get the love it should.
I agree with you on their wedges. I had a set of Wilson wedges as well and I'll be the first to admit I'm not the highest-spinning player, but I really struggled to get them off the face with any significant spin numbers. Switching to SM7s upped my spin significantly from almost the first hit and I haven't looked back.

i've got a set of these for over year 2 years now, bought them when i was hcp 6.8 and now i'm 2,5 and just had my first round under 70, so they r really really good irons. and same thing that Pete said in that video, irons are really good, but the wedge i played 1 round and took my old vokey back :)
not very important part about them, but everyone who you playing with, they notice these irons in your bag and they wanna touch them :))

Ok I have several different iron sets from Mizunos to Callaways BUT my go-to set is Wilson D7s, so maneuverable, predictable and accurate that it shaves 6 points from my handicap rating. They’re true hidden craftsmanship at a great price

Wilson has some good looking irons now. I remember their Staff blades from the mid-80’s which were beautiful. I was just getting into golf but tried them out anyway. They felt amazing except when I toed one.

Great video Peter and those Wilson's look beautiful and classic. I'd like to see you have a go at the Hogan irons and see if they are as good as they look too.

I would love to see you look at some Srixon irons. I really feel like they have quietly been making great clubs. They're just not as shouty as the big boys.

I loved Wilson Staff irons when I was a junior. Considering they don't have a massive list of tour players they still win their fair share of majors. Like you said Woodland last year, Paddy Harrington won his 3 majors in two years with Wilson irons... great brand with a great history (most majors?). Put the blades in your bag and who knows the bonus maybe a spot on the driver v driver judging panel 😉😂

UPDATE: didn’t knew that, but the Blade Design was invented by Wilson .. they presented their first Blades back in 1954 ..

I still play my set of v4 irons. My favorite irons I've ever had. Just put on new grips, ready for another few seasons. Also, although the Cortex driver was made for TV, it It is awesome and performs as well as anything else for me, once I got the blue and white shaft. And you can get them for peanuts.

The D7 Forged irons are going to be a huge hit for many golfers. Even combo-ing the set is amazing at that the price point. So much more affordable than all of the other"big name" brands. Hope you give them a shot when you finally decide!
