Imagine Suzi, all the snippets you trim off, would make wickedy paper beads to match this artful piece. Oooo im drooling! Way cool, TFS, love and hugs, Tibs xxxx
And I am glad you are here Anastasia! I love to experiment and play and then share! I actually get pretty excited when I figure out something new and can't wait to pass it along either here or on my blog. www.suzistudiotime.blogspot.com. Check it out! AND "like" me on facebook facebook.com/suzimade. I have lots going on in those places too!
I will. I did not realize I have a place on Google that shows responses to my posts on U-tube, so this is terrific! Thank you very much for responding, Suzi. I will go check out your Face Book and Blog. Keep on playing! As I tell my students, it is the only way to go, there is no reason to be serious about this; the more you play, the more risks you take, the more tools you will have when you want to create a specific impression. I look forward to seeing lots more of you! Anastasia
This technique is so much fun to play with. I am experimenting now with using sequins, silk and real leaves, mica powder, glitter and feathers between the wax paper. Thanks Suzi. doubt I would have come up with this on my own.
Just a quick follow up - I have made several pieces. Embedding dried leaves and flowers and feathers between layers of wax paper all works really well and the paper is very strong - I have used the paper for full signatures and as pockets. I have also used small pieces in collage. It's a great technique.
Suzi "Thank you" so much for answering all mine and others questions. I will be using this as a book cover and when I'm done I'll let you know how it turn out. Thanks for sharing :)
Your art inspires me so much!!!!! I had to make a hot mess of my own to be able to feel that leather-like texture of the wax paper! Layered Wax Paper Thanks so much for sharing your art with all of us!!!!
YAY!!!! That was great Michelle!! LOVE what you did :))) Isn't it fun?? Hey, I added your blogspot to mine. Have been a little lax on using it and am trying to go there more with new things. Check it out at suzistudiotime.blogspot.com/. Thanks so much for sharing!!
Suzi Dennis Thanks so much Suzi!!!!! You are such an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your amazing gift of creativity with all of us!!!! I will add your blogspot to mine as well!!!! Can't wait to do more painted papers!!!!
You know that sometimes artists will put wax paper between pages when working in their art journal. Could that painty wax paper be used in this way? Or does the mod podge have to go on unpainted wax paper? Just wondered as I watched so many Journaling by 5s videos and saw wax paper that looked even yummier than the actual paper.
Sorry Janet, I have no idea what you are talking about. Have to confess I just play in my studio and experiment and don't watch other stuff. All I know is that this is just plain ole wax paper and it did some fun things. Sorry not much help but thanks for watching :)
Beautiful! I have a not-so-secret love of waxed paper and can just imagine how delicious this must feel in the hands. Thanks for the details - your hot mess is gorgeous! ~ LIsa
If you are talking about the worksurface the answer is no. You want to be able to remove your piece from the worksurface and if you use waxpapr it will all glue together.
Clap, clap for the hot mess! Thanks for explaining the process step-by-step. I would think that as long as there is paper in one of the layers you could use this as a signature. I'm going to try ironing or using a heat gun on a layer of wax paper to see if it looks like encaustic wax. Could be a disaster but I'm sure it will still be useful for collage. As always, thanks for showing us how to PLAY!!! :)))
Nice! Thanks for the video.

That IS a good idea Tibs. I take the trimmings and recycle them back into the next piece. Never waste :)
That is one fine hot mess! I love that you read and respond to your viewers' questions and comments. You're a classy lady!
Ah thanks Shannon. I don't like anyone to be in the dark if I can help it :) And as you well know, not all hot messes turn out that good!! lol!

Suzie can you use waxed paper instead of freezer paper? TFS
If you are talking about the worksurface the answer is no. You want to be able to remove your piece from the worksurface and if you use waxpapr it will all glue together.
Love it love it
Thank you
+Irma Cruz Thank you Irma! Glad to have you :)

Hmmmm....could be but Hey....save it!! Thanks friend :)
Have you ever tried stamping on top once it is dry? I wonder how that would work.
+Lee Travathan I haven't Lee, but I'm sure it would work fine. Give it a try :) tfw!
is that freezer paper you're working the wax paper on?
Yes. I use it a lot and usually mention it in my videos
new subscriber. I have never seen this before. Pretty cool if I say so myself. :)
Welcome! And glad you enjoyed this!
Thank you!
