Right? I watch while cleaning my girls' rooms because it helps my anxiety and allows me to be able to get through it without feeling like a pos for it getting messy but my husband does help and reminds me everyday that it's normal especially with kids
Girl this is just life. I remember my mom who was a night owl coming in our room about 6 pm and cleaning until 3-4 am!! My friends even still talk about this because usually it was on a weekend! We had 12 foot ceilings so we had toys and papers and just all the stuff piled up in 12 ft closets! Andddd my mom let us go outside and have friends over as long as our room was “cleaned” which meant everything was in the closets, under the bed and stuffed in drawers. For those with perfect children let them talk.. every kid is so different but I think your videos are real life of MOST people!

I grew up with undiagnosed adhd and I can relate to her ten year old bedroom as if it was my own, years ago, like so much! ❤ I get how things can be overwhelming I’m glad you help her out with decluttering. Now as an adult I still find it hard to do myself.
There are so many women that do not get diagnosed or not till later on life.
@@gabriellecusson1400 yes most women don’t get diagnosed until their early adult years or like myself my mid 30s. I finally know I’m not just lazy! In fact I’m just chronically overwhelmed due to my adhd. So finally I’m learning ways to cope with my adhd and stopped blaming myself for not being “good enough” !
My 2 youngest have ADHD, they are 18 and 12 years old, and I still help them declutter ❤️

I have chronic fatigue syndrome, some people have called me lazy, I wish I was lazy, because then I could choose not to be!
Reminds me of my daughter’s room when she was young. I finally had her go through her stuffed animals and decide which were going bye bye, so she was finally using her closet for what needed to go in there. We also told family and friends no more stuffed animals as presents.
I think it’s important to give the child a say in getting rid of stuff.

This definitely reminded me of my room as a kid! 😂. I love how you get in there a deep clean, because if she's anything like my son, he always feels a sense of peace and relief when I get in there and declutter for him! Great video mama! ❤

I love before and after! I had to laugh with all the trash you were finding. We have a 10 year old girl also, and she's exactly the same! It amazes me the mess she's able to make! Thanks for the GREAT motivation. I'm going in to do her room right now!

our 12 yr old granddaughter lives with us and I can really relate to your daughters room...👍🏻😄 I literally just went thru her room yesterday and decluttered and went thru her drawers and closet....the girl has 55 pr of socks and that was after we decided on some to donate. 34 pr underwear..put jeans we got rid of 15pr. shes tall and very slim so her 12 were too short so we went with 14 so she's left with 5 pair...grandsons room is today!. hes not as bad 😅😁
Good Night Moon ! That was my baby’s favorite book. He is 19 now. Good memory. You go Mom, kids play and make messes. That is real life! ❤
Now that it's nice and clean, it might be a good time to do a second pass at decluttering some of her toys with her, that way it's not as overwhelming. I do that sometimes and I'm able to get rid of even more stuff.
Maybe it helps her if you put les furnutire in her room. I mean the dresser is big and she can put everything in her nightstand and her close just in the closet. Then she has more room and you can put her bed with the head side to the wall, she cant put to much on here bed then because there is no more wall.. i hope you also think about furniture so it stays minimal.💋❤
I've been trying to convince her to let go of that huge dresser and us get a tiny once but she loves it. even though she can't even use the mirror on it anymore because the TV is in the way 🫠
A sense of relief to see the room all tidy! Perhaps purchasing a trash can will help to keep the room organized! I loved! 💜🫶🏻
Ooh yes, we have rubbish bins in every room, and they get emptied every week before rubbish day, no excuses 😂
I could see a shelve above her bed the length of the whole wall and her stuff animals sitting across it! Just an idea☺️

That was such a satisfying clean, my cleans are never satisfying lol I can’t let the house get messy it makes me feel like a crap mum.
So I have to check the kids rooms at night and make sure they are reasonable.
Room looks great. I am sure she appreciates it she is such a sweet girl.
Whenever I see you clean your daughters room I feel it in my soul. My daughter was the exact same way and it has gotten so much better recently (she's going to be 12 in two weeks).But this is exactly how she was, little cut up papers everywhere, socks and clothes everywhere. Under the bed was always a disaster. I love this, so satisfying to see the before and after.
Wow great job! Looks awesome. Cracked me up when you went under the bed. Mom life 😆. honestly i get her to help though. She be more independent and be least likely to make such a mess.
Wow that's one of the most accurate cleaning video title I've seen 😅👌 I don't even have young kids but you've still gave me some declutter motivation 🤗 Hope you'll also need to declutter the master bedroom as I can relate more and that's where I keep most of the things that I struggle to toss like clothes that can't be donated, magazines/catalogs and cosmetics.
You did an awesome job!! My 6 yr old is in a phase where she cleans up after herself. See tells me "this doesn't make the house look good" when there's a mess. I wish I had her energy though lol. I'll have to look into that organizer cause we have the beanbag. I like it, but its not a space saver and not mesh/see through. One of your best videos:) thanks!!
I really respect you for cleaning your children’s rooms when they get bad. As a child myself, we really have so much to learn about things like cleaning and keeping organized. Even though I myself can’t really relate to that as I’ve ALWAYS been an extremely clean person and a perfectionist in general, I am sure that most kids can understand how overwhelming it gets when your room is a disaster and it’s causing you stress and anxiety yet you don’t know how to clean it. 💕
Ashley, you did so good without throwing a lot away. You still got a lot out of her room and I know she will be so happy when she goes to sleep.
There was a study done an it showed that the more toys etc. that they have the messier they have because they get too stimulated and they don’t know what to do next.

The room looks great. One thing I did when I was decluttering and parting with sentimental things, I took pictures. I was saving my dogs old toys. He’s been gone 5 years. I wouldn’t let the other dogs have the toys. I took pictures and tossed the bad toys and gave the rest to the dogs. I know it may seem silly, but it was hard to let go.
A truly incredible before and after. So glad she is enjoying new freedom in her space.
After cleaning my children’s rooms they always spent the whole day in there just relaxing. It made me realize how they didn’t want to be in their rooms when they got out of hand either.
💕💕💕we actually moved everything out or to the side, cleaned it, moved everything to the clean side then organized the room afterward, we did this once a month, of course it was a mopped & waxed day😂😂😂
I remember when I was a kid I was really adapted to my things I still find myself adapted to things but not as bad when I was a kid. My mom would have to help me because I didn’t clean my room the right way and I kept literally everything and played with the old things I found 😂😂 I was her messy kid but at least your kids can watch your cleaning motivation videos when they need some motivation

I would never judge another mommy for letting her kids have stuffed animals but def as a firefighter wife and mommy i would not let have all of them on the bed just because of the fire risk. Some is ok I’m glad you guys came to a compromise. Room looks great. I saw your older daughter room declutter video as the first video on your channel. Loving your decluttering videos and i find myself binge watching tonight.
Idk what it is about kids with papers but felt this 😂😂😂😂 just did my daughters room yesterday and it was BADDD but man i felt so good when it was done 😂

I know what you mean when u say your daughter hold on to stuff. No matter how many times I use to declutter my daughter’s room, it accumulates more things. It’s usually clothes. However, I check her drawers weekly because it might become messy! For the most part, she keeps it 🧼 especially when she knows I’ll be checking 😆

Wow!!! I just got done doing my 14 year old grandson’s room and I was shocked and disgusted, you see when I was younger( a blended family of 9) while my parents kept the family business going, my sister and I had to run the house and my stepmom made sure we learned how to clean( white glove test!) so…. I wasn’t happy with my grandson, he needs to learn to take care of his things and no food in bedroom! You did a great job on your daughters room😊

Your daughters room reminded me of my own bedroom when I was a child. Lol. I remember my mom and I going in and cleaning it with her and she taught me how to clean and organize. Now I’m 38 and teaching my son the same thing. Lol
amazing at the amount of stuff you took out of that room. Her bed looks so good cleaned of all the stuffed animals and a great job organizing them off of the bed. That was a good workout for you.

My almost 10 year old daughter is almost the same as your daughter. My daughter’s room is always crazy and the papers we pull out all the time is insane.

It's a good job I'm not a child as I have always loved small toys so I would be in my element with shopkins, and Syvanian families, and anything else like that and omg 😲LOL dolls I would be in heaven 🙄😳😹😹 I'm 63 and I have 5 LOL dolls 😹 but we didn't have much growing up I'm one of 8. Great video! Don’t listen to the haters. I have a step son with adhd he organizes differently and needs different organizing than I do (I have OCPD). He has to figure out what works for him so I sit with him and he decides where things go so I can understand his brain and what works for him. Let the kids be kids. I wish my son was into fidgets he likes poppers and they drive me nuts! Lol

What a great transformation and so satisfying! When my girls were little this was their play area in the basement and they loved the little magazines I would get in the mail too. They would get so mad if I recycled them.

I found a great way for the stuffys! I got the cardboard tube from a local rug store. Cut it to stand tightly between the floor and the ceiling. I cut dowels and pasted them through the cardboard, at an angle. Tie ribbons around the necks of each animal and start from the bottom( floor) with the biggest ones and hook onto the dowels. Work your way up , with the different animals, right to the top ! It makes a great space and she can still see them and easily lift them off the dowels as needed. Good luck 🍀!

New sub here!! Love this vid! I have an 11 year old son and he keeps EVERYTHING even the clothes hes grown out of!! He says everything holds a memory! So what I do is I grab a tote and ask him to fill it with things to be "stored" in the garage. If he doesnt ask for anything from the tote for a month or so I donate the whole thing!! I always check it for things that shouldnt be donated lol but this system seems to be working out for us!!

A nice big open kitchen plastic trash can has helped me with my teen son garbage . also one plastic container for clean clothes and one for dirty clothes ❤

You could get a second one for stuffed animals.
Put a trashcan in her room, start there and see if she uses it. Might work to get her to start to give rid of stuff on the regular.
I think I am going to buy her a trash can for her room!! She has already taken new magazines from the mail. haha I told her to throw one out when she gets a new one lol we will see!

Great decluttering job Ashley. I would go through it again soon and get rid of some more stuff though but that’s just me. Too much stuff in my humble opinion.
