    I think all of those izotope Plugins and their AI is the future of mixing. There are a lot of producers and "engineers" out there without decades of knowledge or education. This is a great way to explore the possibilities of mixing but only if your are ready to study the recommended results and fine tune as you understand what happens. Thank you for that video!

      Yes but also for professionals engineers and musicians. It’s not all automated you need to know what you are doing and it’s not magic. Also all the included plugins and modules can be set manually just like any other plugin.

    i just installed Nectar today, and without much experience with recording i was able to get a decent sound from a vocal track in a song i had recorded

      Cool. I love the ease of use and intuative tools with Nectar (and Neutron). I use it a lot.

    You say that you dont think Nectar is for general purpose. I can tell that i use Nectar 4 on way more tracks than Neutron. That is because Compressor has 4 modes, Digital, Vintage, Optical, and Solid State which is the types of compressors that i use the most. Neutron has Punch, Vintage, and Modern processing modes which is also good, but it does not has that huge selection of types. Nectar also has Saturator with 8 distortion modes vs Neutron has 4. Also the De-Esser on the Nectar is usefull for for example Cymbals. So to sum it up, i use Nectar a lot more than Neutron, on every track.

      Thanks for the comment. What I meant is that Nectar was designed for vocals but I agree you can use it when it makes sense. At the end of the day it's just tools to be used.

      I guess it’s not magic don’t use presets without adjusting them to your own tracks. In fact, it might be better to do this step-by-step and carefully using each module.

    So - would a good use of these plugins include using Neutron to unmask the vocals and then Nectar to sweeten them?

    • @UDiAudio
      @UDiAudio  6 месяцев назад

      Hi Richard
      Generally speaking Nectar is geared for vocal mixing and include a set of modules/plugins specific to vocal mxing along side more general purpose modules/plugins like EQ, Comprossor, gate etc. While Neutron is more general purpose mixing and definitly can be used to mix vocals but it misses the speciallity modules like, harmonies, reverb, pitch, Dimension etc. As far as iZotope I guess they want you to have both.. :)

    I’m a huge fan of all izotope. Nectar is amazing for vocals but I think the only useful ai part of it is the first subtractive eq. Everything else about the ai is useless bcuz it does the same thing every time. Aside from AI izotope is king! 😊

      No it doesn't! I use Nectar 3 Elements, and if I hit Start Over, and play a different part of the vocal track, I get a different result.

  • @souledout83

    Does nektar go on your vocal channel directly and neutron go on your master buss? Where do you place the plugins individually and what order in your vocal chain should you put nektar?

    • @UDiAudio
      @UDiAudio  3 месяца назад

      It's really what ever works for you. Both plugins are basically hosts for different modules which otherwise be indevidual plugins. I usually put nectar on my vocal tracks directly. I don't do a lot of mixing these days so not really using Neutron but it would probebly be as insert on a track. I some times use specific plugins on inserts.

    I have a number of Izotope plugins. After awhile, I get confused with all their "upgrades", and at times, just think it's a money-making process whenever they want a cash infusion into their company. As an example, right now, they are pushing RX11......I already have RX 10 Standard. Why upgrade? I also do have Ozone 11 Advanced, at a hefty price. I now only buy upgrades when I think they are worth it, and many times, I wait till the next edition, not the one right after the one I just bought! And I'm pretty much done with buying regular plugins unless they are proven to be very unique. I've also been done with Waves, as of about 2 yrs ago. Izotope is a mainstay for me, along with my already purchased plugins from Plugin Alliance. Good video by the way!

    • @UDiAudio
      @UDiAudio  3 месяца назад

      The plugins industry is like any other consumer and especially software market. Companies feel they need to add new features and keep up while making all of us pay for more and more.. If you are good with what you have that is the best. Only buy what you really need. For example I usually upgrade my Cubase only when it's on sale and only if I see improvments I need.
