Great respect for Pearl doing so well as a woman in the field of postal services. As its such a ‘mail’ dominated industry…
Omg. That is amazing
The postal service is actually very progressive with a majority of E-mails service.
I was worried about where this comment was going. I had a good laugh from this lmao.
Had me in the first half, not gonna lie
love that video (tiktok?? vine?? idk) lmao
"A huge thango to the Tango of the Tek variety" is a great sentence heheh
A happy accident :D
@@PearlescentMoonat 19:49 instead of atrium you could call it an arboretum
Pearl asking Etho if he recognizes the hopper clock he invented is so funny
That's exactly why I asked him if he recognised it :D
Pearl:“How much can I have?”
xB: “Yes.”
yes
Yes
-All of it-
_Yes_
I died lmao 🤣🤣
Why is it still there?
I like how Etho is giving building advice to Pearl, it really shows that the hermits are willing to learn from each other, but also that they don't see themselves in the rolls that their audience puts them in, Etho isn't "the redstone guy" and pearl isn't "the building lady"
I'm wanting to hopefully add a bridge over to etho's in the probably slightly distant future! :D
I love your new thing of showing off your new build to other Hermits. It's a good way to actually make content out of the build rather than just going "Yep, there it is, moving on," and it gives me appreciation for details that I probably would've overlooked otherwise.
same, its one of my favourite things anyones doing this season i love it
Fr, I always end worlds because I get stuck on builds. Getting a chance to really look at the details put into these builds really helps inspire me. rn I'm stuck on an entry way and window. Everything I google is too grandiose. I need something simpler for what I'm going for. Floors and ceiling are always appreciated as well.
it makes me so happy seeing them interact like that
Absolutely love the immersion of your base. Spore blossoms to make the poles look like they are getting off plant food to the crops would be so good. Redstone head blocks may also look like ripe apples in the trees if you find them.
Agreed, and Etho - Pearl catchups are entirely my thing.
If he taught her redstone, and she teaches him building, they'll become too OP for even HermitCraft :P
xB's like the people who leave snacks out for the amazon delivery drivers
People do that? How do the Amazon delivery drivers know if the snacks are safe to eat? Like, the whole idea of leaving snacks out for a random stranger sounds like a disaster to me. If I saw a snack somewhere, even something that was factory packaged, I would be suspicious of touching it.
@@HelenaOfDetroitUsually people leave bottled water and snacks in enclosed bags.
@@HelenaOfDetroitI mean its still packaged? How can it be tampered with if it wasn’t opened? And what would someone gain out of tampering with snacks they’re giving to delivery drivers?
@@AeroLemon It's not difficult to tamper with something without messing up the original seals.
As for why? Because people are horrible. I mean, why do some people hide razor blades in Halloween candy? Heck, I could even see someone getting upset that a delivery driver took a bottle of water that was sitting outside by the door and then coming out and yelling at them.
To be fair, my experience with people has rarely been positive. They usually attack me for reasons I don't ever understand. I've been hit with heavy objects, stabbed, and shot at. Someone tried to shove my car off the road with theirs one time while waving a gun at me. For the most part, humans are just horrible creatures and aren't to be trusted. So, if someone offered a snack of some kind then I'd just be suspicious that they were trying to set me up for something very painful. Can't trust no one
@@HelenaOfDetroit I worked as an Amazon driver, and the way you tell if a snack is good to eat is that you eat it. If you die, you don't have to drive for Amazon anymore, so it is kind of win/win.
But jokes aside, while the job is abusive, stressful, and unsafe, there are a ton of nice people, and the ones who leave snacks and COLD WATER in the summer especially were life savers.
Pearl, every season: I'm not a huge vehicles builder
Also Pearl. every season: *builds so many gorgeous vehicles all over her base*
That tractor in the thumbnail looks straight out of a Studio Ghibli film.
an Atrium is an unroofed green area
a Solarium is a roofed area with glass walls to let light in
a Conservatory is a glass roofed, glass walled area
I think it would be hilarious if Grian opened the permit office for Pearl and Scar at the same time. For Pearl it's a 30 second affair, but it takes Scar an hour to slog through.
A prophecy come true
I’m loving the running bit of Etho and Pearl having a periodic show-and-tell with their base building! It’s fun to watch from either side. The orchard looks amazing, and showing a new build off to another hermit remains a very fun way to share it with the audience! I was in chat when poor just-woke-up Tango came over for redstone and I’m glad some of that interaction made it to the episode proper! Looking forward to the shops and permit office shenanigans (low key hoping for a mail system vs permit office conflict, that would be hilarious)
I'm envisioning a 4 hour Pearl upload of Grian leaving her on hold or making her run all over the server.
I just love the Pearl-Etho-Tango dynamic in this season so much! They all have this chill intellectual vibe with a hint of cozyness and humor. I think that kinda makes their energy to match each others so well😊
Team P.E.T.
There’s currently a push for more kelp farms in the irl solarpunk community bc of the benefits the plant provides so it could be cool to make a Minecraft one as a little nod to it
Another nice touch to the apple orchard would be placing a red coral block surrounded by trapdoors to represent a bushel of apples.
Love how all the paths and things are turning out!
Better yet, support small hermit businesses and use a wart block from Mumbo and Grian instead!
9:46
"Huge thango to the amazing Tango"
what a happy little accident.
oh Pearl, you could also add the nether wart blocks surrounded by trapdoors to make it look like a basket of apples!
Time for Grian and Mumbo to shine with their shared permit.
@@Chigger to be fair, i don't think she needs stacks of the stuff, so she'd probably just craft a couple herself.
@@ChiggerTheir one diamond that they said they'd share! 😅😂😂
Ooo this is a good idea
I think red coral might work better, because there is the brighter red, but still keeping the look of stacked orbs
fun facts you might be able to use somewhere: But sunflowers are known for their ability to leech toxins out of soil and can be used as a settler in areas to clean them up. Dandelions and other weed plants are also settlers for "desert" areas such as lawns and gravelled areas, because they're so hardy. I think townsends's video 'being a good steward to the land' has a lot of interesting stuff about forestry also.
16:42 I think Etho meant to say you can put a player head on the noteblock and it won't make any sound, but it still works for the allay. He did that with a mini block for the squid ink farm. A mob head would also work if there's a mob sound that you don't mind hearing ^_^
I'm pretty sure Etho knows what he said. 😀
yep
@@Nebagram No, he misspoke.
If pearl turns down friendly mob sounds (to silence the sniffer sounds), and the note block has a friendly mob head on it, wouldn’t it also be turned down?
Yeah. I think thats what Etho said I don't know what the original comments is on about @@NateVolker
Not an atrium, an arboretum is the place for trees
An atrium could also be an arboretum
I learned that from reading a series of unfortunate events :)
The redstone lesson with Tango was cool! I love watching Hermits teach Hermits, because I get to learn stuff too!
I love the little show and tell Pearl and Etho got this season. Honestly Pearl, Etho and Tango is such a nice chill trio.
Everyone getting feedback from Etho is very wholesome. Well, except for when Etho made BDubs cry. 😆
@GSBarlev it very much feels like Etho and his server of younger siblings, who want to show him what they did xD
It's amazing to think that most every hermit says they used to watch Etho BEFORE they started RUclips, like, his longevity is incredible.
I love how Pearl gives tours by giving tours to a friend. It feels so new and fresh cause it makes it feel like there's a more vocal voice on it compared to us. Thank you Pearl!
It feels really authentic and is a cool way for her to show us the little details that we might miss otherwise!
Showing us your build by taking another hermit for a tour was such a fun and refreshing way to present the video, loved it!
I really like etho not only giving paraise but trying to be specific and constructive. It keeps the feedback/ exploration segment dynamic.
A different set of eyeballs can go a long way
"There's so much room for activities!" I use that line all the time, but there was something about your delivery (and maybe the accent) that just cracked me up!
You, Etho and Tango deserve more than presents because of your work on the mail box system.
I’ve never heard of Solar Punk before, but I know full well Pearls going to blow it outta the park 🤣
Hey, I know you!
@@justinsmith5870it absolutely has both a tone and theme, wdym
@@justinsmith5870 i feel like its more of an ideology rather than aesthetic
Basically technology mixed with nature lol
@@justinsmith5870The cyberpunk genre is so popular because it's a criticism of the systems that are present today.
Solarpunk is what our future could have been.
There was something so great about tango showing you redstone. that explanation of mechanics, and watching you guys think through it together, really brought me back to early redstone youtube. That type of content would be something that I would love to see more of, it's pretty clear you want to learn more about redstone!
The Power of nature is a great concept for adding power around the base. Windmills, water wheels, lightning rods, solar power. Maybe even some kind of techish/magicish storm catcher kind of contraption. Can't wait to see what Pearl does with it.
14:10 Pearl is evolving
Not only she didn't die in recent timelapses. She kills creeper mid timelapse!
I genuinely think the small odd cutaways to Pearl’s timelapses add so much! They make them feel so unique and interesting!
Omg the sweet berry trees are So Cool! This is the first time I've seen someone use moss blocks to plant berries inside of a tree and it looks great outside of Pearl's base. The pop of red fits in perfectly
If the big blank wall at the back makes you feel bad, you can use scaffolding in the meantime to frame around it, to sort of hint at it being a "work in progress" and simultaneously to obscure & add detail to the wall!
Scaffolding is great for that sort of environmental storytelling thing, I'm surprised people don't use it for that more. I think a few people did in past seasons in stuff like commercial areas, and it was always so cool to see the frame of a structure in place before the actual build
I love that Etho is showing up in everyone's videos. Love his editing style but seeing him in the other hermits videos helps bridge the gap between his video releases. Love the build so far Pearl. Keep it up.
I love how everyone this season is running to Etho and asking him for advice... their like a bunch of children and etho is the dad they are trying to impress lol.
Pearl, gotta say. Those Apple Trees are wonderful.
The use of Lichen on the others (maybe they're on the Apple Trees too, didn't notice) is a great touch, especially for a little non-intrusive ambient light.
Arboretum is where trees are. An atrium is like an open entrance space.
It's really smart to give a tour of your base changes instead of just monologuing it to your viewers. It makes for much more engaging content. Love it! I love Etho
You *need* a bunch of wind power too. classic windmill is good, but there are some real neat futuristic designs around for inspo
I wonder if it would be possible to make a good looking Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) in vanilla Minecraft. Maybe something similar to the windmill Pearl had in her base in New Life. They have some lovely shapes and they look very futuristic, imo.
I really admire your capacity to create immersive environments in this game. And the thing you do with touring your latest builds with hermits is such a great way to make it more fun and interesting. I think it’s a great mix between still having a funky Timelapse but also being able to appreciate the details more / you explaining your process
2:34 pearl you need one of those awards for how long you got that death message.
Tango's clock tower fits in really well with your own theme. Very Studio Ghibli.
howls moving castle vibes definitely
Base is looking absolutely incredible, your builds are such an inspiration
Hey Pearl! Keralis has an awesome flower farm (he needed the colours for candles). I think this would be a good collab since you guys worked so well in S8 on the Bdubs prank. He says the building is ugly (its not), so maybe you guys can do what Hypno, Ren and False are doing. The guys built the farm and False will make it look nice for access to resources she needs in her shop.
Leafstone fits with the theme of your base so perfectly, since its literally combining nature with technology! If you expose some of your redstone and make use of it a lot, I think it will look really good.
Having Pearl's video to start off this weekend is amazing.
Yess fr. ❤️❤️
Agreed
YESS PEARL VIDEOS ARE SUCH A GIFT! I was so excited when I saw this video :D
Do remember the server plug in where you can rename any mob with 'silence me' or the other variables to shut a mob up. You can then rename them and they will continue to be quiet.
15:54 "You've caught me snooping"
You could almost say that Pearl Is a NOSY NEIGHBOUR!
The man at the Permit office does not take bribes, but Pearl certainly does
Giving Hermit's tours of your builds after a timelapse is genius.
I seriously look forward to Pearl’s videos every week since season 10 started. The fun she has, the aesthetic builds, the shenanigans with other hermits, it all just make my day infinitely better!!
Just to continue the Apple idea, you could place some apples on the lowest leaf blocks of your apple trees, the small berries up higher fits because they are farther away and hidden in the leaves some so they don't looks as big, but the low branches having some ripe pickable apples would look cool too,
Pearl, you really need to look into aquaponics, it's farming with fish. Basically running the fish water through the plants to give the plants nutrients and filter the water for the fish
Edit: Apparently I didn't know what an architectural atrium was. An atrium in architecture is a chamber central in a building with access to skylight. I based my previous definition off of what the atrium does in a human heart
Old Idea: An "atrium" is just a room where people wait or go through before reaching somewhere else (a hallway, an office, etc.)
An example of an atrium is a waiting room. There are also parts of your heart called atriums where blood gathers before being pumped around. So not explicitly greenhouse or solar punk related.
Something a bit nature-y is an Aborium, an enclosed space where trees grow.
Arborium
Interesting--I've always heard that referred to as an *_arboretum,_* though that need not be enclosed, so maybe that's the difference. Botanical garden also comes to mind.
Atrium: An open, interior, sky-lit court usually located at the center of a building and often surrounded by multiple stories
Etho getting excited about a Etho-Hopper Clock was so fun.
I LOVE.... how elusive etho can be... and then you get all this candid entertainment from other hermits. Favorite season so far.
I always found that semi-randomly adding scaffolding to a "building coming eventually" area, it gives it detail, easily removed when you get around to it and reminds me what I planned.
I love the chill vibe Pearl and Etho have together. The base tours are insightful and calming. Thank you for being inspirational and hope you have a great day!
An atrium describes an open room within the building usually going from the bottom floor to an open section in the roof. Atriums were largely popular in Roman times to cool down homes.
You probably already know this but when Etho mentioned using “mob” heads on the noteblocks, he meant player heads, which are silent. Also I think miniblocks count as player heads.
Hi! I've been enjoying the series so far, and there is one aspect in which you perfectly fit the solarpunk themes already (and if as you say you don't know much about solarpunk, it is a wonderful accident). While cyberpunk and solarpunk do have the aesthetics of neon/computers and futuristic eco-friendliness respectively, as the -punk part suggests there is way more to them than the (very cool) aesthetics.
Cyberpunk rose to prominence in the 80s, and it shows the anxieties of its time. It warns about the socioeconomic disparities in a world with corporate power ran amok. And it is very much a warning - while the heroes have cool adventures in this world gone bad, they never fix it, because they're just a few individuals.
Solarpunk is more modern, and current anxieties have to do with climate change - hence the focus on ecology. But it also strives to propose an optimistic view of the future, instead of being a warning. So beyond the aesthetic, solarpunk's themes are that of mutual aid, and communities banding together to overcome difficulties.
All that is to say, while the solarpunk builds are great so far, arguably the most solarpunk thing you've done this season so far is being the Post Master. You've worked with others to create infrastructure that brings all the hermits closer together. And if that wasn't done deliberately to fit the solarpunk theme, then it is a wonderful coincidence :P
I've seen many things in Minecraft. Many items that are very valuable.
But a shulkerbox filled with golden carrots? That's the #1 most valuable item.
Atrium's were originally a center room in roman architecture, among wealthier families, especially with a skylight. You have an atrium, yes. Etho was thinking of an arboretum, which is a...how to best sum up the definition...a botanical garden for trees?
In the modern buildings, hotels, etc I have seen an atrium is normally a largish area with skylights for natural light, access from rooms with balconies looking in, plants, maybe a pool. Brings the nature into the centre of the building.
25:08 suggestion for the solarificator-beacon tech: add a rotating tint to the glass panes. Perhaps white>light gray>light blue>blue, as to simulate two blue beams rotating like a lighthouse?
In any case, wonderful progress to be proud of. I love how the Pearlo landscape always has that feel of a 3d painting, and I feel this one is no exception
Beets are great crop used in ethanol production for biofuels! So the fit in thematically really well with the solar/eco punk vibe you have going on!
you just know that pearl is going to kill this solar punk theme, can’t wait to see the journey!
An arboretum is for trees. An atrium is just a big room usually with a glass ceiling
Love your time-lapse cinematics, Pearl. Especially the slow-motion portions you add. I don't know how you do those, but they are great additions.
And you're right about Beet Root. It's pretty, but useless at the moment. I wish Mojang would make it another sugar source or something.
I love this solar punk theme Pearl ☀️ you’re doing a great job creating a unique and cozy atmosphere with it that I haven’t seen done before.
Episode 10 of Season 10! So satisfying.
Tango’s explanation of the basic sorting system has actually clicked in my head lmao. Never knew hoppers could give off different signal strengths. Thank you, Tango of the Tek variety, for teaching me how sorting systems work. 🙏
Loving the whole realistic solar punk vibe Pearl is creating!! Also neat how she did the base of the tree trunks using the walls and then as she goes up the trunk using the fences. Enjoy watching as always!!
Tango gave some really good redstone explanations! It makes a lot of sense now!
“You are the only one who gave me a present” 1:03
That is a bold face lie, and I will not stand for the Gem erasure.
Do you mean the package she sent in the mail? Or am I forgetting a different occasion - I wasn't counting mail sent afterwards; only actions upon introduction of their mailboxes.
@@PearlescentMoon yes! I meant the package 😂 just thought it was funny, I hope that didn’t come across negative 😅
Oh you're all good! Just had to make sure I wasn't forgetting something... I forget a lot of things. :')
14:18 gave me chills, I love it! It reminds me of the big, airy ballroom in Beauty and the Beast, so pretty!
Watching a creator learning redstone and having that aha moment that I had when I learnt this stuff just melts my heart
Dont worry about the pants. It just means youre more hygenic than the other Hermits
33:07 As obsessed as Grian is with Mumbo, I think he really does have a soft spot for Pearl you know. Having seen her in his videos for years, you can tell just by their Hermitcraft interactions the strength of their friendship. Grian and Mumbo’s friendship has the same levels as the Joel Mania post, but it’s a lot softer and more like when you and your friend can’t stop giggling when you’re supposed to sleep at a sleepover with Grian and Pearl
I love how humble Pearl is about how incredible her vehicles are. Like, she doesn’t even know that she’s leading the way in repurposing blocks to be something more than they really are. Just, hats off.
Showing the Etho's hopper clock to Etho!! :ooo
When pearl showed etho the etho hopper clock, i realized that, just like joel and gem, pearl has become a little obsessed with etho, and that is very based.
An Atrium is an enclosed court, either open or with a light well in the middle, often used as an entry. The word Etho was probably thinking of was Arboretum, which is a park designed for the display of trees (arbor = tree).
It's nice to see someone like Pearl finally shining some light on solar punk style.
THAT’S how you kept exploding yourself during the dragon fight! I saw it kept happening on Impulse’s stream and wondered how you managed that repeatedly but that makes complete sense. They really do need to recolor the exploding fireworks to be different from flight rockets lol.
When you were taking about adding more than just solar (around 31:17) there was that “steam” feature in the river. Consider what you could do with geothermal. Steam and pipes and high pressure water systems distributing energy throughout your base.
Favorite part of your time-lapses is usually the slow-motion single block placement, this time replaced with a creeper kill shot; Noice ❤
im so glad she brought back that timelapse music, its like her signature! whenever i hear it in another video i always think of pearl
Your builds are amazing Pearl, and it is so endearing how proudly you show your base to other Hermits.
I love that Etho’s approval makes the Hermits soo happy. ❤
The way the sniffer babies all walked up to you immediately melted my heart! Also, I enjoy how the new style has the signature Pearl elements still.
Postal technician Etho has flower farms.
I have just started watching your videos this season and have been enjoying them. Keep up the building Pearl.
34:59 NO WAY SHE CUT THE PIGSTEP AT DROP
NO WAY YOU JUST CALLED OTHERSIDE PIGSTEP
@@TheCubifyer ooooops
Your base is already spectacular enough, but the way you demonstrated the trees and their placement... That's a level of design that takes a lot of effort and planning.
The time lapse music slowly building up in the background was such a nice touch.
I live for the day that Pearl says "What have we got here ey? A couple of (whatever), have we?". I would *scream*. 😂🖤
oh my god the trees are so gooooooood I sent screenshots to a friend that doesn't even play minecraft they're so pretty
the trees are really next level im so impressed
like etho said, adding some apples in invisble item frames on the ground and in the trees would be cool, also if you put the red coral block (with a waterlogged block underneath) and placed trap doors around it, it can look like a basket/ barrel of apples :3
It could be super cool to build some things that look like plant powered generators. I imagine small dripleaf growing on a large industrial looking cube or rectangle with lots of lights and movement, like maybe some slow blinking copper bulbs. And then some kind of power conduit running out to other techy looking things in the base.
Pearl opening her video by accepting bribes is somethin' else.
I'm also amused at how few hermits understand Allays, though it's fun to watch them learn.
Pearl, if you haven't found out yet, you don't need a lead to move Allays - they'll follow you around (within 50 blocks, if you're not going too fast [elytra]) if you hand them an item to hold onto.
I woke up at 6 AM and couldn't fall back asleep. Thankfully, Pearl lives in a very different time zone, so now I won't be bored!
Same 😂
i'm living in australia and she's uploaded this at midnight 😭
I adore your apple trees! They make me wonder if you're intentionally drawing inspiration from agroforestry or if it's a happy coincidence. I think emulating polyculture farming would create lots of opportunities for cool textures and colours in farmland. Polyculture is the opposite of monoculture, which is when you plant only one type of crop at a time. Polyculture mixes crops together. I imagine it could be really fun to mix in crops of different heights (grass, fern, reeds, bamboo, leaves) into the fields. It might also be fun to create fields in different states of use to show crop rotation/soil repair (a field empty of crops or covered by a layer of hay/straw).
And I love the mixture of glass and wood. It makes the interiors feel so warm!
Honestly, I feel like the beacons are a bit overkill haha. They're lovely, and a huge flex, but I wouldn't break the bank just to seem high-tech. Solarpunk is low-tech as much as it is high-tech. And on that note I also adore the irrigation system. So cute!
I am so wholly in love with Pearl’s base this season, and the new additions are gorgeous! Solarpunk was a fantastic theme choice
