This is an excellent film with some logical but surprising twists at the end. It shows how politics corrupts. No better actor than Peter Finch - he won one of his 5 BAFTAs for this.
An intense movie throughout. Enjoyed it.
great actors!
WOW! What an ending! Thank you for uploading this.
Between Stanley and Donald, and Peter Sallis, I'm one happy British camper.
And Billie!
Great movie! Mr. Finch was a fine actor. Thanks for the upload.
Fine flick. It stinks how the lust for power corrupts where our true Joy lies . Tku for post.
Interesting especially the ending..
Amazing! An intelligent movie for adults. These are very rare today 2024. Hollywood today is utterly incapable of making a movie this good.
what about '''BARBIE'''' movie ???....he he he !!!!
Disagree- Hollywood makes the best movies in the world.
They could remake this film and it would be a flop. There is very little talent anymore thats why I watch old films.
great movie,,,i did not have to look at the credits ,,,as soon as i heard the first two chords, i knew the great malcom arnold wrote the music,,,englands answer to bernard hermann
Great actors but given current condition of British and US politics, it made me uneasy realizing this crap has been going on since long before I was born. 😮
Yes. I think the only difference is that the press is now owned by the politicians. The watchdogs huh.
In your thumbnail the actress pictured is Billie Whitelaw, not Mary Peach.
I thought the same.Remember her from "The Omen" yrs later.
Billie Whitelaw? I'm in!
@@richardscanlan3419and the Krays. She was scary good in both
@@2_thumbs_up_baby absolutely.
Somewhat dry but good performances throughout. Thank you.
28:36 Ollie! :0)
We’re running 🏃♂️
I would like to see the movie The Mermaid Chair (Kim Bassinger). Please upload if you have it. Thanks.
That's all my folks.
Brits shows Always best!
Some very fine actors in a great movie. Enjoyed watching.
The only thing was that Johnny's wife had the look and presentation of a 1940s woman more suited to a horror noir movie.
Had they done that because she was a communist?
By heck the music was terrible and the plot even worse lad.🍅🍅
Get your actors right mate - stop putting up false information!!
