Maxwell Reid was married to Joan Collins. Her first out of many husbands. Just discovered he was born in Northern Ireland and considered a heart throb. Must give it a go,
Jack Warner played a detective in this film, assisted by a Sgt Fox who was played by Andrew Crawford. By coincidence, when Warner became Dixon of Dock Green, there was a sergeant at his police station called Andy Crawford.
Superb..Greta Gynt as the seductress, outstanding. Totally believable, and then some. Atmospheric with interest the whole way through. Eric Portman is a guarantee of quality and he excells. 10/10
Same here. I saw it on another channel recently and enjoyed it. Nonetheless, I watched it again here because it was just that good. Thanks for the upload.
Why don't you put english subtitles and when I say english subtitles I mean REAL english subtitles and not the awful automated english subtitles. There are a lot of people who don't know english so well and it's a great help to read the subtitles. But the automated english subtitles are so messy that you don't know when they start and when they finish every sentence. It's so chaotic that you stop watching the movie after awhile. It would be great help if you put proper english subtitles in your movies for all the foreigners who know english as a second language.
The Brits sure know how to to produce am direct a good crime/noir film. Thanks Retro.
Next to Charles Laughton, Eric Portman was a fine actor and a favorite. Thank you so much for posting this gem! ❤
So civil, at first, these chaps.
And the music to die by🎶
And so many 🚬🚬🚬
Thanks, great British actors!

Masterpiece, God the woman were gorgeous then,
Better standard of spoken English then, even the criminal classes being so nice in a bad way - the Queen’s English
Enjoyable but large parts were almost drowned out by the music.
Good film. Saw it recently on another channel.

Would you recommend?
@sharoncox4776 Yes, definitely worth a watch. Good acting, atmosphere, and not predictable.
Brit shows beat Hollywood hollow!
Eric Portman never married
FILM SHOULD HAVE BEEN TITLED, I MARRIED A SLOOT?
Or, “Misogyny written by a man”
@@JehanineMelmoth CALLING OUT BAD BEHAVIOR IS NOT MISOGYNISTIC? 😹
@@battleelf6523 stop shouting.
@@battleelf6523 also, you know that acting is pretend, right? The woman didn’t do these things in real life. This is a story, written by a man.
@@JehanineMelmoth I’M NOT SHOUTING I’M TYPING. THE USE OF AN EXCLAMATION MARK WOULD DENOTE SHOUTING? I FIND CAPIT LETTERS EASIER TO READ

Just enjoy the film without dictating 😂😂😂😂😂
I would think that it is hard to enjoy if you can't actually understand the dialog.
Typical woman. You find one under every bush. Those cars you cannot find any more though and are they not to die for?
Typical misogyny, written by a man.
Sorry this one is Eric Porter😂😂
PORTMAN not Porter or Porters !!!!
@ytang5615 I wrote Porters because I was making reference to two!!!!
And I had immediatelly corrected myself by writing in my next remark: sorry I mixed the two. Do you spend your time making remarks?
