Wow! What an amazing movie. I loved it. It seems so shocking for it's time. The ending was so sad though. Monica was so sweet to take little Johnny with her.
I revisit this movie once a year. Great cast. Yvonne Mitchell scrubs up well after seeing her in 'The Woman in the Dressing Gown' with Sylvia Sims and Anthony Quayle. Another great movie, that one.
I never expected such a great movie! I wasn't even going to watch it. Boy, I'm glad I did. Everything who is perfectly orchestrated - the storyline, the superb acting, and for me, the highlight was Johnny the pup. Lucy sure loved her little Johnny! ❤ I was crying off and on throughout the entire film.
It’s so sad that Lucy got killed but the lady and Johnny had both lost someone the loved so it’s nice that they had each other to comfort each other. This is double sad 😔 for me because I lost my little black and white boy who had been my faithful boy, Baxter, or who I called him Sir Barksalot sometimes because he barked at everything he heard and even some things that he only thought he heard. He even barked at my stomach a time or 2 when my stomach growled. He was my fierce protector. I had him for 12 or 13 years protector for all that time and I miss him so much every time I think of him. I’m a 79 year old woman and I live with my oldest daughter and her wonderful husband. He lost his girl Sadie who he had longer than I had Baxter, few months before I lost Baxter so we are able to comfort each other also.
My Goodness...😥i´m so sorry for your both loss. It sounds very sad. Now --- Sir Barksalot (what a wonderful and sweet Name this is ❤❤❤❤❤) is in the Dogs Heaven but his Heart will be always with you Madam ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Terrific movie,Watched it for a 2nd time,and enjoyed it just as much,if not more.what a heart stopping interval,over the thwarted burglary attempt.Great cast,and story.
Such a great movie thank you so much for posting this British movies at that time starting at the tail end of the 40s up until the mid-sixties, great movies this one I never heard of really really enjoyed thank you so much, keep finding gems like this
Watch Joan in a 70s movie where she murders her husband and all cast have to answer the grim reaper ..I forget name but it's good .she is part of three or four people who committed crimes in their lives
Stella Davis of the old time radio show The times and trials of Stella Davis. When I was just a little 7 or 8 year old girl 👧 I couldn’t wait for the radio shows to come on in the early afternoon. The old time gospel show came on in the morning with J D Sumner singing Give the World a Smile Each Day, Helping Someone Along The Way, etc. I am now a 79 year old woman and I’m still able to sing the entire song 🎶 in my mind and heart ❤️ although he and Elvis and the rest of the men of that time have passed on into eternity. 🥺🥺
This is a great story. I’m glad that Monica was finally able to escape from Her x boyfriend David. So sad that Granny passed away but at least Johnny found a new home. 😢
My older sister n her boyfriend Enjoyed going to the movies n Watched!!! International Movies ❤❤ Occasionally , they invited me And my friend! It was fun ❤ they will buy all. Kinds of goodies furthermore I Learned to love this type of movies specially, what Happened to baby Jane😮 What triller 😢😅
I saw a similar movie 🍿 only the woman was played by Thelma Ritter. She was a wonderful and talented actress. I also saw her in a movie where she starred with Richard Widmark and she payed the role of a woman called mother. She was shot and killed while she was lying in her bed. 🥺🥺🥺😔😔😔😩😩😩
So much is said with a look. As the saying goes a look 👀 is is better than speaking a thousand words. That’s not exactly how the saying goes but it means the same thing.
I watched The Snows of Kilimanjaro starring Gregory Peck and Ava Gardner and although I love Gregory Peck as an actor I’ve recently read about some of his moral’s that weren’t very good and it took some of the shine off of his stars ⭐️ for me. 🌙💫✨🌟⭐️
These prices are getting out of hand 😢 pretty. Soon. People will start. Going broke 😢 going in garbage cans looking for food to eat because. All the stores are closing 😢
"Can't help falling in love," Elvis Presley's theme song, is incompatible with the plot of the movie. I think the first female protagonist I saw was an aristocratic figure.
I want to know why do we have to pay to watch tv when I was little it was free now u have to pay for it I’m going broke because I have to pay 💰 all. How many times is "Joenee" said in this movie? 100 times? Give it rest, eh? Kathleen Harrison overplays the sentimental " Granny" part to the soap-operaish hilt. "Aw shucks I'm just such a sweet-natured, brain-dead kleptomaniac. Love and pity me!" Luckily Joan and Yvonne are interesting and fun to watch in this one.
Real acting, a realistic believable story even without special effects.., this beats 2024 Hollywood. Thank you.
The temptations and trials in life are suffered by every generation as illustrated so well in this classic. What a great movie. Thank you!
Wow! What an amazing movie. I loved it. It seems so shocking for it's time. The ending was so sad though. Monica was so sweet to take little Johnny with her.
Brilliant movie exploring three different worlds three completely different characters❤
Great movie, the poor little Johnny, at least he has a new home 😢❤❤❤
A magical era of the British film industry one remembers the actors with ease...

Good film, but painful to watch
So unusual to see Kathleen Harrison in a major role. She's wonderful, as always.
Loved her as Mrs Thursday.
Well she did star in the Huggets fims .
She's great

Great movie. Have seen it before and enjoyed it again. So sad about Johnnys mum but at least he got a new mum to love him. ❤️🌹🌈
It seems that for everyone who is kind to Lucy and Johnny there are 2 people who are mean and unkind to them. 😢😢😢😢😢🥺🥺🥺🥺
Why have I never heard of such an enchanting film unti now?
Excellent film!

true human lifes .....classics movies forever......everlasting this type actress....
Clever filming made for a bright, even spectacular ending for this film; which was very refreshing, despite the sappy dog scenes.
What an exciting movie!!
They allowed Johnny into the restaurant??! 😂🤣
And smoking too
Excellent flick all around. Guinness is good for you.👍 Tku for post.

@@spurdeswolfes2522 Thanks

I always liked Joan Collins she is so beautiful she still is so beautiful and a great actress

Omg the ending 😢😢😢
Yvonne Mitchell was such a beautiful, classy, lady.
I never thought much of Joan Collins but the other two actresses were (as always) outstandingly good.
My god her and Elizabeth Taylor look so much alike
I never noticed how much Joan Collins looked like Elizabeth Taylor. I hope her morals were better than Elizabeth Taylor’s were. 🤔🤔🤔
She could be Elisabeth Taylor sister 👧 they look so much alike they should have played sisters in a movie 🎥 together
In those days, Collins was considered the “poor man’s Liz Taylor” being that Taylor got major roles in blockbuster movies.

Joan Collins looks young
About 18 or 19.
Acting in those days was far superior than today ,,,
Johnny.
Language options should be expanded, it is not enough..
I'll watch your channel if their ain't interruptions.
WOMEN LOVE THOSE NO GOOD DUDES IM TELLING YOU .... THATS WHAT LOVE TWISTED
It would have been more of a happy ending if the old lady didn't die. However, I guess it wouldn't have had the dynamic in cathartic emotion.
You want to spoil for others mentioning the ending do you? If you don’t then delete your needless observation
👍🏾👍🏾
These ads are obnoxious
When I watched it didn’t see any ads at all. Interesting film
Sign of the times, sadly.
try adblock plus, seems to work
Do you all realize that Joan Collins has had an over 70 year career, and is still going strong?
yes and a mam dressed in womans clothing
@@NayanapNap really? How do you explain her three children?
