- Cook with me! Let’s make this delicious Puerto Rican meal from start to finish!

INGREDIENTS:
Arroz con Gandules:
1tbsp oil
2 chopped strips of bacon (can sub for chopped dark meat chicken or extra pork Sazón)
1 packet Sazón, original
1 packet pork Sazón (ham flavor concentrate)
1/2 chopped onion
2tbsp Sofrito
2tbsp tomato sauce
1 bay leaf
1tbsp pimientos & Spanish olives
Pinch black pepper
1tsp garlic powder
1 can gandules + its liquid
2 cups medium grain rice (or long)
1 can-full of water
Salt to taste (water should be salty but not as salty as the sea lol)
Chuletas:
4 pork chops
2tsp olive oil
1 tbsp sofrito
Juice if 1/2 lime
Adobo or any garlic-based all purpose seasoning to taste
• Creole seasoning to taste
Dried oregano to taste
Black pepper to taste
Garlic powder to taste
Maduros/Amarillos:
1 super ripe plantain

this looks delicious! i’m mexican and married to a puerto rican so most of my dishes are boricua food lol and a “hack” my cuñis taught me was after the rice is done use the platanos peels to set on top of the rice and let it simmer on top for awhile it gives it some good flavor! 😍

Ps.. maybe you should sell your sofrito! I have a very hard time finding certain ingredients where I live. I can’t find plátanos or maduros.. 😢
Awe thank you!! Wanna know a secret? I hate making sofrito. 🥲 That’s why I won’t sell it! However, I make it faithfully every 4 months, but just for myself. Mayyybe I’ll share some with my mom. 🤣🤣

I made that few days ago minus the plantain marillitos or tostones because didn't have any plantains or guineos
So just made me a salad to go with it.
