Thanks for sharing your journey. Representation matter and I'm sure your inspiring girls who dont see their self in the natural mouvement. You remind me of the youtuber Hannah Mussette (she looks like you and similare hair type). I think in the natural mouvement not enough is made to show natural 4 hair girls (4a, 4b, 4c). I don't have the same hair type has you but I appreciate what you're sharing because I still can learn. Gold luck on your job interview.

4C is definitely a weird... thing ...amongst black people. I live in Trinidad & Tobago and we're a very mixed people in general... Ancestors from Africa, India, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, not to mention Indigenous peoples from the Americas and the Caribbean Islands. We're the melting pot of the world. And people will STILL make stupid comments about kinky/coily hair being "bad" hair. I've heard many times "But you're light skin, why your hair so hard?" I love wearing my 4C hair how it grows just to defy people's expectations of what "good" hair is supposed to be.

ABSOLUTELY. I come from a whole family of white people with curly hair. My mom used to put my hair in protective styles like braids or cornrows for summer camp and such because she can't be trusting a stranger with my tangly fragile hair! Then I went my whole 20s struggling with my hair because I thought if I wore cornrows it was cultural appropriation.
Then I discovered the cg method and my hair has never been healthier or curlier!! I've always enjoyed bingeing black hair videos and I was surprised to discover that most of the techniques they use aren't for black people, but rather for curly hair!! Of course there are many differences but I sleep in a silk scarf, deep condition every wash day, only detangle with tons of conditioner, etc.
I've finally learned that the health of my hair is more important to me than uninformed strangers' opinions.

People are hilarious. My Grand Mother is your complexion with 4b/4c hair and she's not biracial. I have no clue why Black people in general act like they've never seen multiple shades and hair types within their own family, community and friends. One of my best friends growing up was very dark complexion with 2a hair. She got so much grief because people would ask her what she was. My uncles GF was your complexion maybe a little lighter with bone straight jet black hair. She also got the same grief being mistaken for Asian and black, or Spanish. Both of her parents and grand parents were black and not biracial. Her brother was my color with 4c hair. That is the beauty of creation. We are all unique and beautiful in a variety of special ways. Please don't let haters get you down. Some people simply thrive on hate and chaos. Don't respond, just block, delete, and keep it moving. At the end of the day, just do you boo!💋

emelda osamor Not quite sure what you mean. Black families have always been filled with a variety of shades ranging from very light to very dark. At least down here in the south. Not sure how you feel about this new cultural movement, but this new colorism battle needs to stop. As women we need to lead that conversation and challenge ourselves to embrace each other regardless and in spite of our differences. I mean in truth aren't we all racially mixed? Those DNA test everyone has been taking proves it. It saddens me that at 53 I see women who hate each other over skin color. I'd hoped that wouldn't happen in this generation. I'm not speaking about you, just the new RUclips culture that's forming. I'm tired of women feeling like they have to take a side and criticize others for not being light enough, or not being dark enough, not having hair that's this or that. All black women are my sisters regardless of our parents or racial make up. There is greater power in numbers. We are stronger together than divided. Much love to you sis. Thank you for your comment. Be blessed.♥️

Protein treatments once a month is great for elasticity and to keep your ends protected so they don’t break off, I’m not sure if you use this treatment but it will help you retain length so your ends don’t break off, never allow your ends to become to dry, they will break off. Keep your hair hydrated always and your hair will grow. Sleep on a silk or satin pillow case. x

I have 3B curls; my family comes from Italy and Argentina. I straightened my hair in high school, but as I got older I couldn't be bothered. Even with my natural curls, I never once gave a second thought to my hair impacting my opportunity for employment. The natural hair movement has really opened my eyes to the anxieties that women of colour -- particularly black women -- have to struggle with regularly, simply because they choose to rock their natural hair. It might seem trivial to some but this movement is really important, and I think that you should be proud of yourself for not only embracing your curls but also challenging beauty standards and representing your experience as a biracial woman.
    Stay real xx

I'm so glad you created this channel.
"...That is a white girl, with a black girl's hair."
This statement resonated with me; I heard the same thing. My father is Scandinavian and my mother is African. I have my father's skin color and blond hair, but I inherited my mother's 4c hair. I was obsessed with my relaxed hair and how it would look. It was not until my residency that I decided to stop relaxing it and grow my hair naturally. It was the best thing I could have done for myself! I get the looks, oh yeah, I get 'em...but you know what? I'm good with it. People cannot believe that someone like me could have an Afro! It's ok...I get to talk about my background and the fantastic parents I have. I think your channel is great b/c you represent people like me and I'm sure someone like us will you see your channel and completely identify as well. You are not only beautiful, you are also a ray of light; you radiate goodness from within. A role model, I would say.

I recently discovered your videos and channel. I must say that your positivity and confidence for your natural hair has inspired me to continue growing out my own 3c type hair. I had my hair relaxed for the first time when I was around 13/14 years old, suggested by my mother. The last time I relaxed my hair was in December of last year. I find myself going through ups and downs of growing out my hair, relaxing it, doing a big chop and repeating the cycle. For spring and summer, I would want my kinky/curly hair. Then in fall and winter, I would want pin-straight (and damaged 😔) hair. It was to the point where my relaxed hair would fall out (because I finger with my hair, as a habit). My last buzz cut was in August (I think?) but my hair tends to grow pretty quick. I just wanted to say thank you for empowering and motivating me to embrace the hair I was born with 😊

You’re so adorable. I love your channel. You should look into glycerin. Also even though it’s expensive the kinky curly line is the BOMB. Also V05... don’t sleep on it! And dollar store hair products

I'm blasian with 3c-4a hair and people think I'm Hispanic or half white because blasians always have type 2 or 3a-3b hair. It made me insecure when I was young but now it's so full I love it ❤ fuck the haters! Mixed black people are very diverse in look. Genetics are more than just race ❤

How do you keep your hair manageble thru out the day? Especially at bed time. Are u wetting your hair everyday? I have the same hair and i only wear braids because my hair is too hard to handle. Unless its wet.

Wow youve had so much growth. I completely shaved my head 6 months ago n am at the 2-ish inch mark (1 inch in some spots, almost 3 in others). I chopped due to losing hair due to stress health issues n mistreatment of my hair.
