Arganlife products works just like it says. I must say the itchy scalp and dry hair seemed to fade almost immediately. I hope is works for you as much as it did for me. bit.ly/2mDtX9u
Here's the secret to your 4c hair. Use Creme of Nature shampoo (for dry or damaged hair), use Ors Hair mayonnaise conditioner with a plastic cap for 30min - 1 hr (pile it on thick; it'll be a GAME changer), rinse, then mix 2 quarter-sized amounts of Nexxus Humectress with a nickle-sized amount of Fantasia hair polisher & use that as your leave-in before you blow dry. You'll thank me for these instructions later. lol Even if you had 5c hair this routine is guaranteed to soften it up & make it more porous. lol It's even loosened the texture of most 4c women & made it 3c. You're welcome. lol btw Nexxus Humectress isn't cheap (it has keratin & collagen in it), but it's not the most expensive either. Either way, you can rarely soften 4c hair without it. And don't rinse it out as it suggests, I've used it to really grow & soften 4c hair as a leave in. It's not perm or dye so it's not like it'll take it out, it'll just make it soft as hell & open up those pores.
I've been told many times to consider it! My boyfriend just sent me a link for a website called Voices.com and I just made a profile. Super nervous but your comment has convinced me to try :D
i actually scrolled down to see if someone thought the exact same thing I did. Yes , please do voice acting . you could do great for animated 3d features . i worked at an add agency a few years back and i remember , voice actors being sought after for 3d commercials.
Ur hair is getting long. Ur skin is flawless. Don't be paranoid, ur doing a great job! Ur videos are so educational. I pray this channel obtains over a million users.
You're so pretty! May I suggest sectioning your hair and applying the clay on smaller sections from root to tip? It will help with detangling and curl definition in addition to the clarifying. Your hair is beautiful and thick! I love the routine! 😍
Great video!! I have a few tips u might want to consider. If u insist on Tresemme as your go-to deep conditioner, think about using their Botanique line (spelling?) -- the conditioner w coconut oil in it and is silicone free. Regular Tresemme is loaded w silicone, which acts like a shellac on your hair as it keeps moisture from penetrating. Also, I know Kinky Curly Knot Today is a convenient leave-in (u can pick it up at Whole Foods), and it's pretty effective -- I've used it myself; however, it contains no oils or real softening/conditioning properties. U might consider a leave-in from Camille Rose Naturals or from Mane Choice ("soft as can be" "3-in-1" leave-in): these two are super effective for softening, protecting, detangling, etc. . .,. if u need a leave-in u can pick up in a hurry, Giovanni Direct Leave-In (get it from Whole Foods!) is another good choice -- it's just not as heavy as the other two I suggest. Good luck w everything! I'm really enjoying watching your natural hair journey!
Wahh! Thank you! I've been side-eyeing my conditioner ever since I read your comment lmao. I'll look into that Botanique line and Camille Rose :) Thank you for your support
Camille rose and TGIN deep conditioner is great. It's easy to start trying a ton of products, but stick to products for awhile to really see what works, we become product junkies with this natural hair, it's so easy, but less is more...really.
@@OnlyOneHope TGIN deep conditioner has been a game changer me. I like Kinky Curly Knot Today for it's slip, but someone in the comments noted that it doesn't really have any moisturizing properties. I have been sticking to Kinky Curly for years before discovering TGIN deep conditioner. Think it is time to find another leave-in conditioner that has moisture and lots of slip...I haven't been impressed with Tgin's leave in. When I am searching for new products, I simply purchase all kinds of conditioners and products from Target try them all out and then take back anything that doesn't work for me. This is a great way to try out products without the financial commitment.
I miss my hair when it was that length and shape. You and your hair are beautiful. Tip: for any leave in, gels an creams that I plan on layering, I mix a little of both on the back of my hand to see if they mix well. You would be able to tell if the products will leave flakes in your hair. ❤️
i have 4c low porosity hair as well!! heres a funny question: when you lay down and get back up, does your hair flatten and matte up and look like a twa again? it happens to me all the time i want to make sure im not the only one💩
I felt a lot like you when I started taking care of my natural hair for the first time back in 2009. What I’ve learned is that at the end of the day there are many, many routines and techniques to grow long, healthy hair. I know it’s easy to compare your hair to others, fret about products and styling, and worry that you’ll ruin your hair again. I want you to know though that time is key. As long as your hair is moisturized and you take steps to avoid heat, too much pulling, and unnecessary friction, it will GROW, GROW, GROW! You got this, girl. My hair started off around shoulder length at the beginning of my journey and nine years later is still insanely thick with mostly 4a shrunken zigzags with a few bits of 3c. Your hair is almost at the point where consistent stretching is some way will save you crazy amounts of time.
Hi there! I wanted to agree with Antoinette below, I'm a low porosity type 4 as well and silicon hair care products add an additional barrier(shield)that inhibits product absorption. I avoid them whenever possible.
I suggest using a silicone paraben fragrance peg free conditioner since you don't use a shampoo with SLS(sulfates), there's no way to get the silicone out of your hair and it can cause build up and prevent the good products you're using from penetrating. I love your hair!
Our hair is not the same. I have the 2C est hair in the world bit, I love watching you. I straightened my hair for 3 decades and just quit in January and love my hair now. I just find you inspiring to keep my 2C hair and you make me wanna keep it curly. You are amazing and beautiful. 💚 I feel very grateful that you share with us. And holy crap! Didnt know about the whole Egyptian Clay part! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Silver Hiker I have 4 c hair so I think it funny u think 2c is hard Now I’m going to see video of 2c an see why u think it hard to take care of very interesting
I used to use clay every wash but honesty been lazy to do it. You can find good deep conditioners for under 10$. And shopping at Sallys or target can return if don't like it. Nothing wrong with d.i.y though but I'd use a more less silicone conditioner. You can add fresh aloe Vera or the powder for extra slip, or even marshmallow root. Avocados, banana or yogurt. The longer hair gets more prone to ssk so you can do twist out or braids out might take a while to twist it but it will stretch the hair and moisture last longer. Or finger coils.
felicia cooke Yes, it does become awkward in regards to styling, but once it becomes longer the manageability becomes easier! I started my natural hair journey back in 2008 so I know! It takes a while about a year or two but after that she will have mastered her hair hopefully. In the in between stages I wore a lot of two strand twists and a few wigs even to get over that stage. I appreciate your cordial response btw😁
Struggled a bit with the awkward regrown stage but I’ve adapted to the needs of my hair and just focus on keeping it moisturised just waiting for my edges to catch up then I’m good 😊
I transitioned through the awkward stage, so I can only admire you guys' experience going through it. I can say the longer my hair get the easier it is maintain. I can do more "lazy styles". Wash days are about the same as always because I take my time.
Nubian Melanin Queen when your able to gather a quadrant of hair, without hurting your head of course 😊 It makes the process move a lot quicker/smoothly
wow your hair is growing pretty quickly and looks so soft. thank you for sharing your journey. I really love your channel and I will definitely have to try out that Aztec clay. looks like a winner to me.
Idk about using a daily conditioner with the honey that's only if you're wanting to leave it in. I use conditioners as my leave in all the time and my hair is waist length. Never had an issue
The longer your hair gets the more your coils are going to pop. You're TWA looks exactly like mine did when I big chopped in 2016. Natural afro hair is amazing💕💕💕
Omg girl you look like some family of mine! Don't mind me I come from a big ole Creole family, in Louisiana we would call you "pasa blanca" lol. I love your hair, continue to rock your FRO proudly!
Hi Charmaine. Just a tip as your new in your natural hair journey, TRY NEW THINGS AND EXPERIMENT ALL THE WAY. for example you seal your hair with cold water then apply your Kinkly curly leave-in. I was surprised that your hair seems to like it, because sealing the cuticles doesn’t permit anything else to absorb into the hair, which could explain why the leave-in takes a long while to dissipate as you said. So why not try NOT sealing your hair with cold water and see if it’s any better or worse for you. As you said “if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it”. But I know that keeping a log of the things I’ve done with my hair over the years has been VERY helpful to me. And be proud of your low po hair girl, it’s healthy and strong hair, and your little fro really suits you!!! 😉
Protein treatments are fine for our (low porosity) hair it just depends on your hair....I usually do a "hard one" aka aphogee like once or once every two months...... and yes apply all your creams and products to saturated hair - if you want to keep your curl pattern intact....I'm type 4a/b And I wouldn't recommend always doing the clay - maybe like twice a month since it is very drying Another thing is I have a brush similar to the Felicia Leatherwood brush (yes it'll get through your hair lol) just apply a looooot of conditioner (I use the Giovanni conditioners (the ones you see at tjmaxx or Marshalls that are tall and colorful) with a lot of slip and make sure your hair is weeeeettttt with warm/hot water and just do it in "sections" - I honestly don't loose/shed a lot since I've been doing my washes like this (and I wash my hair twice a week.....and I washed my hair like this even when it was like bra strap length as well) - if you want to use a gel ....I recommend Aunt Jackie's elongating gel or wetline extreme (apply to wet hair and use warm water and your hands should glide through your hair).....If you don't want to use gels then you can use your KCKT or just apply more conditioner to your hair tbh
Awesome video! Just a tip, the clay mask works even better for clarifying and defining the hair when you let it dry, rather than putting a plastic cap on. His clay has become a staple in my 4C hair routine also!
I’ve used the Aztec clay mask on my face in the past and found it drying. I can’t believe it works so well in kinky type hair! How would you recommend using it?
Hi Joy -el, I have similar thick, low porosity hair. I stopped combing my hair even finger combing it and I noticed less tangles. After I wet my hair I will gently pull it out to stretch it, fluff it when applying my conditioner and the water itself detangles it. I use to spend so much time detangling and it was a never ending battle. I don't have any locs or matting. Also, another tip I have for getting conditioner to really get into the hair is to double condition. Condition rinse condition. When you rinse the conditioner the water is helping to distribute the conditioner. Hope this helps. Your fro looks amazing on you.
I've been watchin you for a while and since your big chop your looking fabulous!!! 💜👌🏽 be careful of the silicones in alot of conditioners, some curly girls/guys are perfectly fine with silicones and salfates its all about what your hair likes, my hair loves products without them. Also ALL hair low or high porosity needs protein its just the balance. I have low porosity and I do one protein treatment once a month. All curly girls/guys do what works for YOUR hair no matter what the internet claims, you might not be in the status quo. Your hair doesn't like...don't do it. Your doing great Joyel!! 💜
Personally I use henna as a protein treatment BUT henna is not for everyone. I did Alot of research first, for instance if you decide on henna you can't put color in your hair, until its completely gone, (like your hair has grown out and that hair has been cut off..so I'm talking years) the color will react to the henna and you'll get terrible color results. But I know that shea moisture has 2 that are nice, deva curl has one but its expensive and I dont like how it smells, 👎🏽 I did just try one by a brand called texture ID and I really liked that one. To give some options 😊
I'm enjoying watching your hair journey. I am about 4 years natural now. Once your hair is long enough to section off easily in the shower, you will be able to dentangle thoroughly and more confidently with just your fingers.
I use the clay also. My hair is short so I use 1/2 C. Clay, 1/4 C. ACV, 1/4 C. Warm water, and 1 Tbsp. Black seed oil. I mix it in a reclaimed coconut shell with a wooden spoon.
Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Just some tips: Try drying your hair with a t-shirt, rather than shaking it out. Lol. Also because the bentonite is a clarifying agent, you don't need to "shampoo" your hair first. That can dry out your hair. Another helpful tip as some of the ladies mentioned below is sectioning your hair. You can twist out each section as you detangle. You may want to get a detangling comb/brush too like the Denman. 😊
May I suggest not washing your hair before the clay? Just wet it with a spray bottle and mart it in smaller sections, leave it on for 30 minutes and then rinse it condition it style it as usual. You can try flexi rods also. They are fun and gives the hair and nice curl.
Doing protein treatments are good for every now and then but only leave it on for like 10/15 mins max then follow up with a moisturizing deep conditioner after
Mango seed butter and shea butter are great for definition and long lasting moisture for thicker hair. So if you do branch out to buying more products like twisting creams look for that in at the top of ingredients. Or you can just get a tub shea butter by itself and use that alone as styler. Your fro is bueatiful btw
I have 3C/4a hair and you have inspired me to rock my natural curls. I did it yesterday with such confidence. I look like the Lion King and some curls are as curly as others so I take a very small curling iron to create spiral curls in a couple of areas. Thank you sis for the inspiration! Sisters of color rock...in all shades! ❤️
Okay, couple things: 1) I bought the massager thing as well and i only use it because sometimes there’s parts of my scalp that are like extra itchy so I’ll use it in those sections- but yah I agree nothing like your fingers. 2) I love looking at your hair because it’s like looking at my own- your hair is slightly longer than mine and I just love it..low porosity and all. 3) I’ve started using the texture ID shampoo/deep conditioner and I especially love the shampoo because it’s clarifying- may be worth looking into. Sally’s will often have sales for like buy one get one half off. And lastly 4) I’ve been using a deep conditioning cap since forever. It’s a GAME CHANGER for all hair types natural or relaxed. You look ridiculous (little house on the prairie) wearing it but anything for our hair right? I recommend the Doctors Choice Professional conditioning heat cap- it’s available on amazon for just under $30. It concentrates all the heat and is almost like a steam treatment. DO NOT get the ones that look like they’ve been inflated cause they just don’t warm up the same- You won’t regret it. Love joining you on this healthy hair journey! ❣️
Hello gorgeous!! Please don’t take this in offense, but I’m so curious as to what your ethnicity is?? I absolutely love when different features come together in one person, that’s what makes us most unique 😊 what have you done with your hair in the past? I spent 10 years of my life relaxing and killing my curls. I’m now 2 years natural and still regret the 10 years I lost with my natural hair. So I’m glad to see you’re taking care of your hair and embracing it. It suits you! ✌🏼☺️
n. k. It's Okay! I'm half black half white 😁 I have a video on my channel all about my hair and what I had done to it before my big chop, check it out! 😘 ruclips.net/video/xst8GXJjeOc/видео.html
Hi Joyel, Great blog this week. Please do not avoid putting protein in your hair. Protein has some really fabulous benefits for our hair when it is utilized. The key is to have a really great balance between moisture and protein.
_I'm absolutely loving your hair journey girl. Your hair is flourishing. A leave-in that I think would be good is can't leave-in conditioning creme or the Garnier leave-ins. I have low-porosity too and they are very moisturizing in my opinion. Anyway glad u found a wash routine that works for u._ 💞💓♥
Joy-el Have you tried this one?: www.target.com/p/cantu-shea-butter-natural-leave-in-conditioning-cream-12-fl-oz/-/A-21407488 In my opinion it's way better than the other cantu leave in conditioner, Garnier olive oil and curl nourish lines are amazing!
Hey! Love your thorough wash routine because you hardly see it on RUclips these days. I've been natural for about 8 months now and have been using RUclips as a guide. However, I will say it seems like you aren't retaining moisture as much (per your low porosity hair? I'm not sure as that whole thing confuses me) but I really recommend changing your Deep conditioning method. Tresemme is a great product that I used to use for yeeeeears, but as i'm going natural i have found it doesn't really work for me due to it's alcohol content and the silicone! I recommend trying products like shea Moisture or Cantu or any product that is sulfate and silicone free because they really make a difference! HOWEVER, Deep conditioning needs heat to penetrate the cuticles so I recommend adding a hot wash cloth on top of the plastic bag and then adding another to seal it in! It will really make a difference on your deep conditioning and it is a very very important step that you should add! It really all depends on what your hair is though and what is working for you! :)
Yes! Tresemme is the devil lmao! I just ordered the Camille Rose Pear and Cherry Conditioner and I'm stoked to use it :D I also ordered one of those blow dryer cap attachments to start helping with deep conditioning. Thank you!
Your hair is so beautiful, seriously, never go back to chemicals. You look so....free. Also, if you haven't already, check out Brittney Gray, she is a RUclipsr, she is a duel nationality girl (black and white) just like you with 3c, 4a hair. She is really into healthy hair, realistic expectations and loving the hair you have, no matter what your hair is like or how you choose to style it. Check her out you will love her . If i'm not mistaken, she wears her hair straightened but she does have a video or two with her hair not straightened and it reminds me of your hair.
J Pike I think you mean ethnicity not nationality. Ethnicity is race. Nationality has to do with where you were born. Just wanted to let you know. It gets confused a lot. 🙂
wow i just love you, your smile is so infectious and your personality is so cute. can’t wait to see you grow and flourish with your hair, youtube, and life !!!!
Joy-el you should try glycerine and water as a daily hydrant for your hair. Glycerine is a humectant that traps moisture in the hair. 1/5 glycerine, 4/5 water for a daily s spritz.
I got a bonnet with a hose that attaches to your blowdryer. Turn blowdryer on and it turns into a hot hood dryer.. like the kind u sit under at the salon. 10-15 bucks at Sally beauty supply✨
You should try function of beauty, I think that it would be better than any shampoo/conditioner line that you have chosen. You should also try TGIN it’s really amazing for 4C hair. Shea butter is amazing if you use grape seed oil and avocado oil too for hydration and detangling. Any light oil grape seed, avocado, almond, jojoba, olive oil is wonderful. From one 4C to the next you hair is looking amazing.
Hi Jo-el i just subscribe to your channel and commented on another video. I can see you are newly natural but i see you have done the necessary research. Very insteresting to see you. Shea moisture coconut shampoo can be a moistur shampoo depending on your hair type but for us low porosity it will act as a clarifying. Since it contains protein i would not advise using it regularly once a month should be enough. You can use aztec as a detox once a month. I use the Rhassoul clay as it is a detox and conditioning clay (softer than bentonite and and as detoxifing). Your deep condtioning session is good but be carefull when using conditioner with silicon. The week after you will need to detox to remove the silicon , so your hair is able to take on the moisture.... I feel the big chop suit you way better than relaxed hair. It gives you so much character !!! Good luck on your journey ! 💕
“The internet can be such a confusing place..” you have never lied. 😂 i love watching your hair journey because I’m learning my hair too. It’s so nice to see someone who hasn’t been natural for 5+ years. 😭 it’s only been 3 months for me. Lmao
I'm so obsessed with you😍 I'm just binge watching your videos and watching your journey and you are just so funny and amazing! You are definitely helping me discover what works so plz keep them coming 🤗
1 part of vinegar to 9 parts of water will make a great detangler before washing hair. Parting your hair will make your wash day easier. That’s all I have for now, have a great day girly.
You should try rhassoul clay one day. I have a pre made clay wash with bentonite in it as well as a hair mask containing it as well. Tressume has silicones, over time you'll find your hair feeling weird if you don't use a real clarifying shampoo soon, plus they build up easily on low porosity hair that's why I can't use silicones.
I had box braids a few months ago before my big chop. My sister loves practicing braiding and wants to do some Senegalese twists on me soon! So hopefully I can save up some $$$ for hair ASAP :)
I'm british but I know a lot of amazing products for low porosity 4 type hair from America. Organi grow hair co ( has a line specifically for low porosity..all organic, vegan and chemical free ) miche beauty deep condioner ( protein free) bee mine deep conditoner ( protein free) soultanicals ( protein and glyverine free but has algae which strengthens like coconut oil ) and if you ever want british products Anita grant is the best hair care line I've ever used. She has a rhassoul clay deep condioner I use for my low po hair. I think you will adore all these recommendations. But definitely cheak out and buy organi grow deep conditoner or Anita grant rhassoul clay if you feel brave buying from the UK but I think America do stock it on some websites ❤
I keep hearing everyone raving about the Indian Healing Clay, so I may have to try it. I buy my hair products from TM Products, a YT channel of the same name and their detangler/styling aid is amazing! My hair ranges from 3b-4c, front to back, with a 4c perimeter. Needless to say, it's hard finding one product to work on a span of hair types, and TM delivers! My hair is soft and shiny(even with ID hard water) and it's growing like crazy(BSL now)! A great cheap alternate for Tresemme is Aussie Moist-always works well on my curls and coils and has great slip. Hope this helps, and enjoy your hair journey!
Oh my.... i don't know if science can prove that people can have goosebumps for how long, but mine last 13:49min. Your hair is absolutely MAGNIFIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh and if you don't want to use the gel then I would just use a cream and carry a spray bottle with you lol - you don't need to layer product on low porosity hair - but it is a time for you to experiment with your hair so have fun! .....and I do a modified cg method - I use a brush and shampoo my hair when I feel like it basically lol
God your hair is so cute lol. Im glad you cut it ;) Totally fits you and your unique features. Stay beautiful babe Btw i love clays I use both Rhassoul and Aztec and always add Olive, Jojoba, Argan, Vit E, Peppermint and Castor oil. Always love it lol
when I comb out my hair I like to put my hair in pony tails I use a brush than I use a hair pick. I pick it out section by section and I use water when I don't have a leave in. doing it that way helps me comb it out.
Great video . I have really oily hair and arganrain shampoo made my hair nice and clean. I always had trouble finding a good shampoo that will not make my ends dry and my scalp oily but this shampoo did the job. it's affordable, and it is sulfate free!
And the cold water, yes only if you are not going to apply any product after. Othewise you would close the cuticles before even applying the leave in. Best option rinse with warm water so cuticles are opened and ready to receive the moisture from the leave in... then seal with a butter or oil... LOC or LCO method... See you in another video !! ☺️
Do not use the clay weekly... apparently it permanently alters hair porosity ( gives you high porosity hair) with frequent use. So please reduce the frequency maybe every 2 weeks or once a month. Research it..
Btw its however the products work. When i first big chopped i would put on soaking wet hair. but i also realized tht was because my hair was high porosity. I needed as much water as possible locked in and for it to last during the day. Now that my hair porosity is low i can get away with semi damp when applying. And i use less products becuase my hair doesnt need it anymore. continue to see how products work .
Hi Joyel ur hairrrr is getting big now waaaaa I like it ..do U want it to very huge like see some ladies are doing on certain channels I think their hair is big nd beautiful..I would love to see Urs get huge if that is Ur gold but ur hair seems to be growing really fast .. Requested. Thanks for a very thorough explanation
Can you do a video doing a salt scrub for your scalp.
Many type-3, "curly'girls" would probably want to join the hair-group, too.
Why not?
Btw your voice is super unique. Have you ever considered voice acting?
I've been told many times to consider it! My boyfriend just sent me a link for a website called Voices.com and I just made a profile. Super nervous but your comment has convinced me to try :D
i actually scrolled down to see if someone thought the exact same thing I did. Yes , please do voice acting . you could do great for animated 3d features . i worked at an add agency a few years back and i remember , voice actors being sought after for 3d commercials.
Bianca Elise i thought the same!
she sounds just like the princess vanellope from wreck it ralph lol
Reminds me of lori petty
Ur hair is getting long. Ur skin is flawless. Don't be paranoid, ur doing a great job! Ur videos are so educational. I pray this channel obtains over a million users.
Thank you Kymmico! Your support is like nothing else!
First off...
You're sooooo pretty 😍😍😍
I cant stop watching her!! i would literally stare at my monitor like wow!!
I did my big chop Sunday and I'm so happy about it
My hair was permed
Topaz Brown Congrats!! I'm proud of you 😁❤
Congratulations on your hair journey
Congratulations sis!
I'm so happy for you! If you're consistent with your journey it will definitely be worthwhile 💞❤❤
You're so pretty! May I suggest sectioning your hair and applying the clay on smaller sections from root to tip? It will help with detangling and curl definition in addition to the clarifying. Your hair is beautiful and thick! I love the routine! 😍
I will start trying that! Thank you for your support
Your voice is so cute! Love your videos :)
Thank you, love!
Kinky Curly Knot Today and Camille Rose Naturals are my holy grails!! Silicone free, protein free, and glycerin free!! Great products! 👍
That's smart! I'll try that next time!
Your hair is thriving. TFS
Thank you for watching
i have 4c low porosity hair as well!! heres a funny question: when you lay down and get back up, does your hair flatten and matte up and look like a twa again? it happens to me all the time i want to make sure im not the only one💩
melanade Lol yesss!!! I refuse to nap laying on my back, I have to lay on my face 😑
Joy-el hhaaah
Suggestion: make mini buns with some hair bands. Did that and never looked back.
i can relate 100%
Uuugggh I did a twist out and took a nap and my hair just became flat all in the back.
Also, as a fellow mixed girl with kinkier hair than is usually portrayed, I see you!
Hi there! I wanted to agree with Antoinette below, I'm a low porosity type 4 as well and silicon hair care products add an additional barrier(shield)that inhibits product absorption. I avoid them whenever possible.
That fro is bomb! Super cute! The texture is just like mine! Wow!
Real type 4 hair 😍. Good luck on your natural journey. I’m 10 months so far now .
Silver Hiker I have 4 c hair so I think it funny u think 2c is hard
Now I’m going to see video of 2c an see why u think it hard to take care of very interesting
@@jborrego2406 Where did I say that 2c hair was hard?
I used to use clay every wash but honesty been lazy to do it. You can find good deep conditioners for under 10$. And shopping at Sallys or target can return if don't like it. Nothing wrong with d.i.y though but I'd use a more less silicone conditioner. You can add fresh aloe Vera or the powder for extra slip, or even marshmallow root. Avocados, banana or yogurt. The longer hair gets more prone to ssk so you can do twist out or braids out might take a while to twist it but it will stretch the hair and moisture last longer. Or finger coils.
Thank you for the suggestions!
You're beyond gorgeous!!
You should try incorporating fenugreek. That stuff makes a great deep conditioner because of its slip and it helps to grow hair faster!
The longer your hair gets the easier it will become to manage
felicia cooke Yes, it does become awkward in regards to styling, but once it becomes longer the manageability becomes easier! I started my natural hair journey back in 2008 so I know! It takes a while about a year or two but after that she will have mastered her hair hopefully. In the in between stages I wore a lot of two strand twists and a few wigs even to get over that stage. I appreciate your cordial response btw😁
Mari Veronica definetly agreeeeeee
Struggled a bit with the awkward regrown stage but I’ve adapted to the needs of my hair and just focus on keeping it moisturised just waiting for my edges to catch up then I’m good 😊
I transitioned through the awkward stage, so I can only admire you guys' experience going through it. I can say the longer my hair get the easier it is maintain. I can do more "lazy styles". Wash days are about the same as always because I take my time.
Joy-el !! You should really start sectioning your hair off, it’s gotten so long !! 😍
Tilwana Stringer ..when should a person section their hair off when its a twa??? Im 6 months natural...should i wait till a year ???
Nubian Melanin Queen when your able to gather a quadrant of hair, without hurting your head of course 😊 It makes the process move a lot quicker/smoothly
Tilwana Stringer ...ok tysm
Nubian Melanin Queen no problem 🙂
wow your hair is growing pretty quickly and looks so soft. thank you for sharing your journey.
I’ve never heard of clarifying your hair with Indian healing clay. I’ll have to try that. Thanks for sharing!
Let me know how it works out for you! :)
Protein treatments are fine for our (low porosity) hair it just depends on your hair....I usually do a "hard one" aka aphogee like once or once every two months...... and yes apply all your creams and products to saturated hair - if you want to keep your curl pattern intact....I'm type 4a/b
And I wouldn't recommend always doing the clay - maybe like twice a month since it is very drying
Another thing is I have a brush similar to the Felicia Leatherwood brush (yes it'll get through your hair lol) just apply a looooot of conditioner (I use the Giovanni conditioners (the ones you see at tjmaxx or Marshalls that are tall and colorful) with a lot of slip and make sure your hair is weeeeettttt with warm/hot water and just do it in "sections" - I honestly don't loose/shed a lot since I've been doing my washes like this (and I wash my hair twice a week.....and I washed my hair like this even when it was like bra strap length as well) - if you want to use a gel ....I recommend Aunt Jackie's elongating gel or wetline extreme (apply to wet hair and use warm water and your hands should glide through your hair).....If you don't want to use gels then you can use your KCKT or just apply more conditioner to your hair tbh
Awesome video! Just a tip, the clay mask works even better for clarifying and defining the hair when you let it dry, rather than putting a plastic cap on. His clay has become a staple in my 4C hair routine also!
Storm Taylor I'll try that this week 😁
I’ve used the Aztec clay mask on my face in the past and found it drying. I can’t believe it works so well in kinky type hair! How would you recommend using it?
What lip gloss is that??? It's really pretty
Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb :)
And now I’m about to go buy Fenty beauty finally cuz wow 😍 I love a good gloss!
Hi Joy -el,
I have similar thick, low porosity hair.
Thank you so much!! Are there any protein treatments from a certain brand that you would recommend? :)
Thank you! I've heard about the t-shirt drying method, I'll try that :)
As far as protein goes maybe once every three months for low porosity girls is best depending how low your porosity is.
Thank you! I've been using raw African shea butter and it defines my hair so well! I'll look into the mango seed butter :)
You really remind me of Minnie Ripperton
Awww thank you!
That's it! I was trying to figure it out and now, I dont have to wake up at 3am and realize this. Lol Minnie was so sweet.
Girl you are so beautiful I can’t even lie to see you have hair like me 🤣 it’s like “whoaaaa she knows the struggle”.
Thank you for the advice and suggestions! I'll definitely look into those :D
ruclips.net/video/xst8GXJjeOc/видео.html
Joy-el I happened to notice it before your reply and watched it! Also, you gained another subscriber 😉 thanks for replying doll!!
you need to look into protein/moisture balance. moisture overload is also possible for low porosity and it makes hair mushy and weak
Can you please do a makeup tutorial on this look? It looks beautiful
chey25104 Filming it at this moment 😁
Joy-el awesome! Can't wait to see it😊
Hi Joyel,
Great blog this week.
Please do not avoid putting protein in your hair. Protein has some really fabulous benefits for our hair when it is utilized. The key is to have a really great balance between moisture and protein.
Thank you! I'll try out a treatment on my next wash day :)
AWW thank you for your support!
Joy-el Have you tried this one?: www.target.com/p/cantu-shea-butter-natural-leave-in-conditioning-cream-12-fl-oz/-/A-21407488
In my opinion it's way better than the other cantu leave in conditioner, Garnier olive oil and curl nourish lines are amazing!
Thank you!
Yaaaaas girl! I'm excited to see your progress as you continue to find what works for you! :)
She has 4c hair not 3c
wow i just love you, your smile is so infectious and your personality is so cute. can’t wait to see you grow and flourish with your hair, youtube, and life !!!!
Omgosh thank you!
Have you tried using aloe Vera juice instead of vinegar because it’s so much better
I will now! I've heard great things about aloe vera juice so thank you for the recommendation :)
10-15 bucks at Sally beauty supply✨
woah type 4 on a light skin girl
She’s white? Not light skinned
Oh my gosh! I can SWEAR by the aztec clay & I have 4c hair....its is amazing!!!!
You are SO CUTE!! New subbie!!
Thank you!!
Me too!
U can define your curls more if u do a wash and go and apply the product in sections
You have such a pretty face. The hair is the cherry on top 😊 your hair is flourishing!
omg you are so freakin pretty!!! goals
Please, please try one time kinky curly custard and the leave in together with a denmen brush! I promise you will see definition!
You are just the sweetest, purest most innocent person ever. I mean jeez! How did you get like that?
I love using Treseme moisture conditioner to detangle my hair before washing my hair. It gives my hair amazing slip.
Its official Im subscribing! Your hair looks similar to my hair, please keep uploading the hair videos. Thanks for sharing!
I think it’s okay to use natural products everyday and a protein treatment once a month! ❤️
1 part of vinegar to 9 parts of water will make a great detangler before washing hair.
Parting your hair will make your wash day easier.
That’s all I have for now, have a great day girly.
You look pretty with your hair like that 😊
You should try amla powder with your clay. Game changer for type 4 hair!!
Your hair looks amazing, have you done any protective styling
I had box braids a few months ago before my big chop. My sister loves practicing braiding and wants to do some Senegalese twists on me soon! So hopefully I can save up some $$$ for hair ASAP :)
You're gorgeous, you should totally be a model!
Your so beautiful
I love your thick hair. "GreenBeauty" channel is very informative about hair porosity, protein etc.
Thank you! I'll check that channel out :)
Oh my.... i don't know if science can prove that people can have goosebumps for how long, but mine last 13:49min. Your hair is absolutely MAGNIFIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EEKK Thank you!!! :D
oh and if you don't want to use the gel then I would just use a cream and carry a spray bottle with you lol - you don't need to layer product on low porosity hair - but it is a time for you to experiment with your hair so have fun! .....and I do a modified cg method - I use a brush and shampoo my hair when I feel like it basically lol
Your hair looks beautiful! I am almost 2 months natural and l am still trying to figure my hair out.
Have you ever tried a tangle teaser? It’s amazing and so easy to detangle and so much faster!
I haven't but I'll look it up! :)
God your hair is so cute lol. Im glad you cut it ;) Totally fits you and your unique features. Stay beautiful babe
Btw i love clays I use both Rhassoul and Aztec and always add Olive, Jojoba, Argan, Vit E, Peppermint and Castor oil. Always love it lol
I HAVE THE SAME DETANGLING COMB!!!! I’m like so excited lol!
when I comb out my hair I like to put my hair in pony tails I use a brush than I use a hair pick.
Thank you for the advice!! :)
Joy-el you are welcome Joy-el looking forward to seeing more of you ! ☺️
Do not use the clay weekly... apparently it permanently alters hair porosity ( gives you high porosity hair) with frequent use.
So please reduce the frequency maybe every 2 weeks or once a
month. Research it..
This is going to sound so strange, but I love your voice so much. I would love to you voice act or something.
Just a thought
I absolutely love your hair videos and your voice. Try using Shea Moisture's JBCO shampoo. I really feel it clarifies and cleans my hair.
You should definitely try tgin butter cream and Miele organics deep conditioner really good for type 4 hair
Researching it now! Thank you :)
Joy-el no prob!✨ also if your looking for a good shampoo & rinse out conditioner try the Shea moisture Manuka and honey line it’s sooo good!
You are so adorbs! Subscribed!
You are absolutely lovely. You belong in Paris or Milan as a model. Great channel.
Your hair is so cute and growing so fast❤️❤️
Can’t wait for my fro to get the big I currently have about 2 inches of hair on ma hed
Victoria Mensah so do I.... You’re not alone😁
I have about 3 inches. I shaved off all my hair last December. I also cannot wait to be able to start sectioning it.
Keep going, love! So happy you've joined team natural :D
Your hair looks very nice.
