No worry bout story spoilers, because just like the FFXIV community, the Xenoblade community loves to see blind reactions, so spoiling stuff is not cool at all.
Oh boy, this is going to be something to enjoy. One of my absoulute favourite games. I can't wait to see your reaction to the rest of the game. I'd say enjoy the game, but that's pretty much guaranteed! :)
Loving that you’re playing this I’ll be sure to leave any tips of any interesting non spoiler info as I watch - You don’t need to worry about healing outside of battle as the characters will automatically regenerate all of their health - Attack enemies whenever you want, there’s no real consequences (other than xp/item gain)the only thing is pay attention to their level when targeting as there are some really strong foes wandering around the place - In the collectopedia make sure you press A over silhouettes to log it and get gems that add buffs (only if you want to it’s not required to fill any of it in) - Feel free to explore wherever you want to there’s always something interesting to find :) (plus you get xp for finding new locations) - Final tip for now… Have fun! It’s certainly a journey
Here is the meaning of the enemies icons. Black: Very Easy Enemies. These enemies are 6 or more levels lower than your party. Little EXP, AP, and SP are rewarded. Blue: Easy Enemies. These enemies are 3-5 levels below your party. Brown/White: Normal Enemies. These enemies are within 2 levels up or below your party. Yellow: Hard Enemies. Be sure to plan ahead, as these monsters are 3-5 levels higher than your party. Red: Very Hard Enemies, who are 6 or more levels higher than your party. These enemies should be avoided unless you are skilled and have properly prepared. Learn the enemies' strengths, weaknesses, and their moves, and counterattack them. Accuracy and evasion are heavily influenced by level differences. Black threat level enemies will hardly ever hit your characters. On the other end, red threat level enemies are very difficult to even hit unless characters have large boosts to accuracy and agility. You can see more details like their names and levels when you aim at them. Some monsters attack on sight or in groups if one of their members is attacked.
You can talk to all the NPCs, the ones that are saved in your sociogram are those with names. In general, NPCs talk about various things, you don't have to talk to all of them unless you really want to.
@@SolitarySaturn Here another one: Certain NPCs (specifically those with names) go out only the night or day, in the sociogram you can see where they usually are and when they come out, useful when you search someone for a quest. Note: The enemies spawns also vary at the time of the day or change behavior, weather has the same effect (like rain). This is also applicable to the blue light orbs collectibles, that change the spawn rate of the items of the area. The collectibles are random and load once in an area as a whole. Red light orbs are key items for a quest (as you did with the "wedding ring" and the "spanner") Quests tell you where are the collectibles you need, sometime just reload an area. Trade with NPCs can help to get some of those hard to find. To get the rewards of your Collectopaedia, press A on the highlights icons and confirm.
Squeretash was supposed to be wandam or something simular. The translators did not know he was supposed to be a xenosaga referense. They also did not know wandam was supposed to be a reoccuring carakter in the xenoblade series.
I'm so glad you're starting your playthrough! You're doing an amazing job, feel free to take your time if you want to explore the world, there's no rush 😊
Damn man, didn't realize that you decided to start it. What's even the point of being subscribed to you if the RUclips algorithm would not recommend your videos to me :D
I think you did it pretty good for a first timer. I was very and mean VERY lost when I started the first time. There are SO MANY mechanics, and tutorials, I felt overwhelmed to be honest. In fact, I think you are taking it much better than I did XD MOst of those mechanics are mostly irrelevant, mind you. The trade is cool but it's more for people who like to get 100% in everything, completionist, since that's the only way to get some items for the collectopedia. Getting to know more people is cool and I think it can help to get some quests: They talk about each other, so by paying attention you cna know about the relationships between npc... for example, you can suddenly know that two characters are brothers so that can open some quest, I believe. But most sidequests in this game are pretty poor, they are good only to get some exp and money, not cool to play by themselves. The sidequests are build to force you into exploring, so they are not so bad either. Because anything that pushes you to explore the huge beautiful maps in this game, is great. Over time you will probably end up thinking the game is quite simple. It's just... too many concepts, all at once.
So excited for this adventure! I am super open to tips along the way. Just avoid story spoilers for me pretty please. Let's go!!!!!!!!

@@randomjoe598 to be fair, he did say he liked story driven games, and both XIV and XC are wild emotional rollercoasters of storytelling.
@@thecodeNeko_ yeah, but he still had to buy a switch just to try it, so this IS a surprise!

Vandam, and he is at least Vangarre, so close enough.
