  • @bananaman2
    @bananaman2 4 года назад +210

    One crucial tip I have regards monster drops. If you chain together multiple enemies and defeat them all in the same battle, you have a higher chance of getting silver and gold chests, which contain better loot. Also, one exploit I found was that you can save before opening a dropped chest and reload if you didn't get the item you want. This is a great way to get fantastic items and equipment early on.
    You can also do overtrading to get good rare items. Basically, NPC's have a secret item that they will gift you if you trade an item of significantly higher value than the item you request in the trade. This is easier later on once you've increased area affinity to have access to more trading options. Plus it's good to have the wikia open to see which items NPC's have.

As in lowest agility and defense, while piling on the dps. But just spam arts with no thought and you'll attract way too much aggro while not putting out a substantial amount of damage.

    Here’s a quick tip for fasionistas!
    You know how you can unlock outfits to customize your appearence without having it affect your stats? But you don’t want to waste your money on equipment you’re not likely to use? Have no fear because you can save scum, you know?! Ah but how is that useful other than getting back your money? Turns out the game saves unlocked outfits even after you load a save where you don’t own the outfit! Now I’m rocking a progenitor bottom for shulk and reyn while not spending a penny~
    P.S. This doesn’t apply to achievements.

    Just started playing a few days ago and loving it so far. 2 quality life hacks for Cambat I think are good to have are: you can map the controls so that instead of using the dpad to scroll through the arts, you can use the shoulder buttons. And 2nd, is make sure you put the arts that are the same next to each other. So for example, I have my side arts next to each other, my back arts next to, and so on. This helps alot so when you are positioned next to or behind the enemy, you can do the arts before the enemy moves and avoids unessesy scrolling..... great video, man!!

    Thank you for the guide. English is not my first language so I really appreciated the speed you spoke. I was able to understand every word you said. I got the game this morning but yet to play it yet. At 1:45, do you mean that I don’t have to talk all those without a name at all? Also, if I have missed some NPCs due to time/location or plainly an area I haven’t searched thorough enough, I assume I could see the empty slot in the chart. I am wondering if there’s any hints I could find out who I missed and where I could find this NPC? Basically hints about a missing link? At 4:15, you showed quests from generic NPCs, so this contradicted what you said earlier? Quests could be from EVERYONE? Thanks.

    • @JRPG-Mickey
      @JRPG-Mickey  4 года назад +7

      Hi Tino! Thank you for taking interest! That's correct, the NPC's that don't have a unique name (like Colony 9 Resident), you don't need to talk to (unless you truly want to). Unfortunately, there are NO HINTS if you have not spoken with an NPC or "missing links" as you say. And like you said Quests can be from ANYONE with an exclamation mark "!" over their head! Hope this helps!

      Still in the beginning but I got the bonus 100k for playing XC2. It hadn’t felt like a waste. Allowed me to win battles that kicked my butt right before I bought it. And I am slowly replacing with unique stuff that has gems, even if it brings down defense -20. Eventually I will have replaced it all and probably still not have that level of defense. But it doesn’t feel like a waste so far.

    This whole video represents why I just can’t with these Xenoblade Chronicles games lol. Like I just want an RPG with a solid story and memorable characters, which these games have. BUT, in order to get the most out of the game, you have to learn about a seemingly endless list of complicated mechanics and systems that are baked into the experience. I know the appeal of the games but i also understand why some just can’t stomach it.

      @@JRPG-Mickey Your video isn't the REASON but it represents my biggest gripe about the game: The mechanics are SO. NEEDLESSLY. INFURIATINGLY. COMPLICATED. I've never needed to look up so many wiki guides and tips online for any other game besides this game and its sequel. Honestly i'm still trudging through the game solely because of the story. The game has such an interesting story and characters that hook you and makes you want to know what happens next. Too bad its trapped behind the overly complicated progression.

Tales games had AI strategy more than a decade ago. Why can't you do basic things like block, dodge? Why do healing speels have 40s cd? Really losing patience with this crap

    • @zaxtonhong3958

      Each individual art is more complicated in xb1. Many things have their own effects, and they're much more impactful than XB2. XB2's complexity comes from the insane amount of combos of stuff.
      When you bring in arts chain, elemental orbs, sealing reinforcements/self destruct/back attack, the special buffs for each character (collecting potions for more damage for crossette, swapping to heal for Ursula, etc). Even more complexity with fusion combos, where going through the entirety of a blade combo on a single hit of a drive combo gives a significant multiplier to damage. You have to pay attention to which blades need affinity during combat. In post-game, you need to know the specific effects of each of your blade's specials, along with all the other blades when you're doing blade combos (level 3 heals, level 2 doesn't, etc).

      @@zaxtonhong3958 I know a lot of people struggled with the combat in xb2 but it just seemed to click with me straight away. Although I didn't really go into the end game min maxing so I can imagine it got much more complex at that point.

      It threw off a lot of people. Some didn’t even know how to build up fusion conbos or orbs. Not understanding the effects behind certain combos. It’s much more difficult to grasp the combat due to the game not having a tutorial menu for reference... XC1 does, which is very helpful, but it doesn’t explain certain things. Still, that menu will help you grasp most of the mechanics without getting lost.

    Are there time sensitive quests to be aware of? You say “typically” you’d don’t want to go after each quest immediately, and that suggests there are some atypical instances of that not being the case, but you don’t any anything about it.

    My tip grind and collect you never know when you come across a quest and you instantly completed because you collected that certain item what happened to me a couple times while I was playing for 2 hours another tip yeah you can use the clock to change but it would be better grind and waited out until that certain time because you get this fast travel and be there on time to any NPC
