Thats how bp became successful. They capitalized on blackpink’s stupid immature childish fandom’s starvation of blackpink contents and abused it for profit.
@ZaneaSu You got that totally wrong. They suck at managing their group. They suck at promoting their groups, do not let their groups promote their music etc. So yeah, YG sucks as a company.
Rosé genuinely loves music. Not just performing it but also producing it. Jisoo loves acting. Jennie is a fashionista and Lisa is an overall performer, no matter how. They are all so different and have different needs. I hope they finally get everything they need and wished for during all this years
It's not like they can be only one thing lol many idols are idols and actors like IU and red velvet members, same for fashion, I get what's your trying to say but it's bcz how bad they were trained and managed these whole years, their group and songs style doesn't suit all members and that what makes everyone feel they can't success as a group anymore
@@saynaraiIU is an actress but is still very passionate about music, she releases music quite frequently, whereas in BP only Rosie looks passionate about music🤷♀️
@@BELIEVER78989 they might be not passionate about that same style of songs not to mention they had to perform many songs that they've already performed many times and not performing some of their new songs, I can see Jennie now is leaning more to calm and romantic songs and she made a cover of two songs recently, same for Lisa she even looks more passionate than Rosé about being an idol plus their vocals are improving lately I'm sure they're getting vocal lessons
Everyone really thought Rosé was going to stay but she didn’t. I’m glad that she left and I am looking forward to her next move the most. Glad all of the girls didn’t sign their individual contracts. Hopefully Rosé gets her own company or sign with a wonderful company that’ll actually work with her and be genuine with how talented she is.
All of the members are now in their late twenties. They have about 5 ~ 10 years (at most) remaining in which they can maintain positions at the highest levels in the pop music/pop culture world. In order to make the most of this opportunity, they simply CAN NOT allow themselves to be controlled and restricted in everything they do by Yang Hyun Suk, depending on his personal moods and priorities. YG absolutely should have been willing to change their usual approach to contracting and offer deals that guaranteed both maximum freedom and maximum support from the company for the individual members. YG wouldn't do that. The members knew that if they re-signed they could end up spending the next 5 years in YG's "dungeon" and totally WASTE the high-level position they have achieved. They really had no choice but to NOT re-sign with the company, given the company's horrible reputation for sidelining and downplaying even top artists whenever YHS wants to focus on something else.
@@maxkortestappen4027 In the western world and in Korea anyone who has their own company or business is mf successful. Say you’re miserable without saying you’re miserable!
Dude , the amount of artists and great musical minds who left or got ruined by YG (or any company under it) is just insane to me, and it's even crazier when I discover some great artists or so who happened to have once been under YG long ago YG really knows how to gather talented people and train them well , but just terribly sucks at giving them an actual career and caring for them They literally bring them in to suffer and just throw them under the bus or drain them out till they've had enough 2ne1, BIG BANG ,Epik High, GUMMY,Lee Hi ,iKON and so many more people left already and now Blackpink ... Almost all YG artist or anyone associated with them is iconic and well known but that doesn't help the fact that they made them go through hell and wasted years of their lives ... I am so worried for treasure and baby monster considering they're still young and have a long way ahead of them You can't trust this company with a boiled egg , they'll ruin the poor kids 😭 At some point YG will have no one but its directers in there, this is just embarrassing really
Nothing you said makes any sense. Every artist that has left YGE, has never been as big as they were with YGE. A perfect example of this is PSY, he has never had as big of hits as he had with YGE. Personally I think everyone is putting to much blame on YGE and not enough on the artists themselves. BlackPink is so big, that if people think that they don't have a say in when they put out new BlackPink music, then you're crazy.
I used to a huge YG stan back in 2012. Any artist that came out of that company was something I was listening too. It's such a shock to see how far they have fallen over the years. It's questionable if YG is even part of the big 3 at this point, and if we should even call it big 4 instead.
@@bishopman2308 I am not discrediting them regarding that , they do make legends but c'mon if ALL of your artists pretty much left , there's got to be something wrong 😕 I mean other big companies are shitty but their artists remained way longer , and some TO this day The artist can only do so much against their management... Sure they trained their artists well and made hits , but if you don't manage your artists well, give them a little bit of creative freedom and keep that momentum , they're pretty much ruined 💔 I mean if it's like you're saying , then why didn't blackpink and Bigbang stay even though they made it big under YG ? ... They train them well , but they suck management wise ... I used to be the biggest fan of them but things are just getting out of their hand now ...
i think starving bps fans of content was a good way of making fans buy and stream stuff more the rare times there is content but i dont think the same will work for babymonster because there is so much competition
Their lack of songs has always been such a tragedy. Imagine being in the industry for 7+ years yet even rookies of 2-3 years had more songs than them. Thank god they have left YG, hopefully they will create more solo songs. I'm especially excited about Rosé as Hard to love is my all time favorite song from them.
as a blink since literal debut and living through the broken promises of comebacks, albums, seeing how drained the girls got over the years etc all in real time, i’m just so so happy they’re finally out that dungeon and can spread they’re wings even further😭❤️❤️ BLACKPINK FIGHTING🖤🩷
@@miyalol1862 yes they’re still a group. YG will manage their group activities but their solo/individual activities are now independent from the company so they’ll at least have more freedom individually :)
I’m continually staggered by YG’s apparent lack of judgement. It’s almost as if he purposely took a wrecking ball to his own company, intent on destroying what had taken decades to build. Did he grow bored? Was he too distracted by the legal hot water he was in? Then again, he has always frustrated fans and shareholders with many of the head-scratching decisions he’ s made concerning artists under the label. From Big Bang, to 2NE1, to Black Pink, to Baby Monster, he has always been willing to squander talent and potential. Too bad so many peoples’ careers and livelihoods have hung in the balance over the whims of YG.
YG is a genius. His holding BlackPink's comebacks to just a couple years or any of their groups, is what made people want more, so after two years, everyone listened to the music even more then expected.
You know that what I always think about too. Is YG soooo stupid or secretly a mastermind. Like the person above mentioned too, absense creates desire and want but at the same time it's a fast paced world. There will always be the next big thing. Why not make most out of your time while you are at the top? I feel like in YG's case they could have done what they did but a little differently and that would have given them results X2 times better atleast. You need to satisfy the fans sometime, how often you do it is completely on you. I feel like as a fan of BP I never felt satisfied which is why I've started to feel this disconnect from them. I think indifference, is what YG should be scared of the most.
yeah even tho i dislike 80% of BP music, and they are nothing special compared with other groups they can deliver more quality for 1 video because they only have this one and let the fans wait a long time xD but still in sales they fall off @@roses_are_rosie4684 and still the quality diff isnt even that much that stands out from other groups.
Jennie said in recent lee hyori show "I set up my own agency bcz I want to do my solo activities more freely,in my own way and the first step of doing that is to have a full album which is coming this year" Which screams a lot about how things work on yg Remember that time when Jennie and Rosè had problems with whistle lyrics and Yg denied to change it...That's fking their song😭
Jennie also had a song journal where she had written lots of music and songs, she accidentally left it in the dance studio one night and went back to get it and it was missing. YG are control freaks and do not like their artists producing their own stuff. So Jennie lost all of her work. YG are a terrible agency.
@moonyun6580 they have literally tried writing their own songs but yg won't let them. Jennie literally has a song book of lyrics that was taken from her. They've said this before
The same YG who make G dragon write one song each day to make him a better songwriter? The same YG who let CL write songs even tho he did not like them and call them names all the time? The same YG who let Jennie have her one solo before even having a BP full album? The same YG who take full pride in all his groups writing and producing their own song? I don't think so, you all can repeat that story all you want but it does not make any sense. If YG himself did not allow jennie or the rest of the girls release a song written by them it's because they suck at it.
It really is a new age in the industry. It will go to show that these companies are what hold back their artist. YG especially. Since Jennie and Jisoo have left they’re visibly more active. Variety shows, events, posting more, Jisoo working on her acting roles and now going on Hyeri’s RUclips channel. Can’t wait to see what Rosé and Lisa got cooking as well. Excited for this new era for Blackpink ♥️
@@huydinh7506fr :/ like it’s also senseless because blackpink interacting with other idols would make help their image idk why yg limited so much stuff
The biggest red flag that every member would be getting out of YG was when Lisa performed in Crazy Horse - it’s like the biggest FU to the conservative S. korea and China market. I will not be surprised if she signs up with a western label and continues to focus on international work seeing as she’s one of the most hardworking and marketable member. In Jennies case it’s her continued lack of consistency in her recent concert performance. The girls leaving is looking a lot like silent quitting of BP.
I’ll never forget or forgive YG for how he tricked CL into resigning her solo career with him only to intentionally sabotage it a year later by canceling her appearances & interviews… I think the members of BP remembers too and didn’t want that to happen to them.
It's definitely a pattern at YG. Even the most successful, most popular acts at YG can't really trust YG (YHS) to treat them with the respect they deserve. YHS has a huge, huge ego and seems to think of the artists at the company as his property in every sense and like they are toys for his personal amusement and profit and nothing else. I didn't even know much about YG until Lee Hi joined the company. I was a big fan of Lee Hi from the Kpop Star audition show. She had a massively large fan base from that show when she joined YG. YG basically wasted her original fan base by not allowing her to even appear anywhere, say anything or do anything for two 3-year hiatuses (a total of 6 years of nothing during the 7 years that she was at YG). There was never any excuse for that and no explanation.
@@TEAM__POSEID0N Came to say, iKON is another example of wasted talent. While Big Bang was enisted, and before Black Pink exploded globally, YG's highest earners were iKON. Hell, even after coming back post B.I. In 2023, IKON was named in the top 10 K-pop groups contributing to Korea's economy in the last 5 years. I think of all the momentum that YG wasted which would have pulled them forward had they let them actually do a World Tour. Or even, had they let them actually appear on tv shows. I think there is a money thing going on. If you look at all of their boy groups after Big Bang, all of whom produce their own songs, which means they have more financial streams coming in from royalties. Increasing their popularity actually would be bad, as in the long term these groups become financially and potentially mentally independent of the company. Hence, the disinvestment in promotion, lack of solo works, album releases, and the repeated denial of collaborations, sponsorships, and public visibility. Its self-sabbotage but it also allows YG to better control their idols.
@@TEAM__POSEID0Nso you're saying this blackpink got under control by YG company stuff and agent too, why is their a excuse to do that for or not being to go having some trip vaca to enjoy, is that he want it
Lisa's fans always knew she will not renew with YG. Why she will renew with a company that doesn't update her solo album sales for one year now? We don't know her Lalisa sales till this day
It's true. She's been the very much the MOST popular member from the start while receiving noticeably lesser treatment than the other members up until maybe the last two years. It's a good thing she knows her worth.
After hearing everything I would say it's quite dechieving to guess what the girls next moves would be. It's no denying that their potential was always wasted by YG. I feel like they would have reached 5 times more success than this as a group only if there was quality in treatments and more opportunities for the girls together. The solo fanbase of Lisa grew the strongest and the fandom kept dividing followed by Jennie Rose and Jisoo/alt. It might be an assumption to say these words but if we see the success and the support they always recieved after not much music releases they would have literally blasted the world. Girls have not decided for individual contracts but with this we would be able to see more of their group work rather than solo promotions. The girls can be free as an individual but still can be BLACKPINK together at the end of the day. We can just wait for their decisions that's we can do. With their upcoming album and world tour I hope that their worth is not denied. Market strategies are there no one knows what's wrong, what's right but all that matters is that the girls get more music opportunities as a group and much more intiative to release music and gain more success.
Right now, they are at the peak of their fame. Whatever they do will sell, it's just impossible for them to flop! This happens with all the biggest artists. It's gonna be at least 3 or 4 years that we can feel safe that they will do well.
Good for them. Its good that they were able to come to an agreement where the group can stay together. Being able to do whatever you want solo and not disband the group or have to leave is a great set up. This reminds me of Girls' Generation. And to be honest, just like them, you have to be realistic about when you will see another comeback as a full group. SNSD pretty much only comes back to celebrate milestones. So really, between that and YG as a company, realistically we'll see the next CB in the next 2-3 years for Blackpinks 10th anniversary. I'm looking forward to seeing them reunite again after starting up their solo careers on their own. Maybe it will just be single but I hope we can see them dance and sing together again.
Let's be honest, YG doesn't promote BP much anyway even when they do release something. At least now the girls will have the power to create things for their fans to enjoy during the long gaps YG takes to make their comebacks.
❓Does anyone remember I think it was last year when they were on a world tour and they kept collapsing on stage of heat and exhaustion and YG just kept adding more and more dates and packing their schedules more and more on the tour?! When it was completely obvious the girls needed a break and their health was suffering! I knew then they were never going to stay with YG. YG is lucky they agreed to promote as a group with them at all. YG has treated them like theyre commodities, like theyre robots. AND they weren't allowed to ever have a boyfriend or get married or start a family. YG treated them so badly. And I know all black pink fans just want the best for the girls. We don't want them to be worked to death or unable to ever get married or move on with their lives. I am worried the girls only agreed to continue promoting with YG as a group because they didn't want to let the other members down not because they actually wanted to stay with YG. I hope they are able to actually have freedom and control over, not just their music, but their own life too now
Girl... they put out an album after two years from their last, i think they have much time to rest besides their modelling activities and other stuff...for example there's other groups who put out 1-2 albums/mini albums/singles (Before u come at me i am a blink too but i also think they're not the only ones to be overworked)
They are getting the 2ne1 treatment. At least they did not have to hear about their disbandment on public platforms when babymonster debuted. Luckily, they have more control now for their individual promotion. Hopefully, they are able to explore their potential and follow their dreams!
Jennie is coming out with her first full length album and will announce an acting project soon among other contents. Jisoo has joined her brothers company biomom and are branching into the entertainment industry with another company for her called blissoo. Rosie and lisa might sign with a company in the west. All lisas rumor was mediaplay to make it look like she was the only one leaving and in demand when that wasnt even the case.
I am curious about how BP will be handled in future. Technically they haven’t disbanded but I am questioning, if they will have the time for more group comebacks or if BP will have a comeback only every few years. I mean, Jennie set up her own company, Jisoo most likely will go into acting full time and I feel like Rose and Lisa will use the freedom to make as much music as they can and especially music that they like. It’s just gonna be hard to come together as a group like this but maybe the contract says that they have to do a specific amount of comebacks. I don’t know. Anyway, I am happy for the girls because their potential was wasted at YG. I am especially looking forward to see what Rose and Lisa will bring to the table. Why those two? No, I don’t dislike the other members but Rose’s music has been even better than BP’s groups music to me and Lisa seems the most passionate about being an idol. Imagine her with songs that aren’t cringe. I can’t wait. Jisoo will most likely concentrate on acting anyway and I am not into Kdramas and to be honest, I don’t what to expect from Jennie. I am not sure if she set up the company for herself as a musician to have ultimate freedom or she really wants to rather take a step back from being an idol and instead help other talents to shine.
I think the group should just disband at this point. The members are individually seeing success and more opportunities outside of their group. At this point Blackpink is just a name.
I think the key to any Blackpink comebacks is the same key to the comebacks they have had before. Teddy does almost all of the composing and production and the reality is he is not a prolific composer. Now if the girls were smart they wrestled more control over the group from YG as part of signing to keep Blackpink around. The question is who has control and final say on Blackpink projects. Is it the four members, who will bring songs for the group that they have composed or had composed by someone other than Teddy. Will there be infighting among the members about which tracks they brought to the table end up on an album. I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope for future Blackpink projects materializing. If you look at the long history of popular music when groups start going off in separate directions, they seldom return to the group with a really great album. Rather, if their solo projects aren't going so well, they put out a mediocre album, and go on tour for a quick cash grab, or years after they more or less split-up they come back together when their core fans are much older and have a nostalgia tour with grossly inflated ticket prices, so their middle aged fans can relive their youth for a few hours. If the members have good success as soloists where they are building wealth, there will be little impetus to get in the recording studio as a group and be on tour for 6 months to a year and split profits with YG and all the members. Now if several members have lackluster solo careers, maybe they will pressure the successful one or two into doing a Blackpink project to bail them out financially, but sometimes friendship only goes so far when business is mixed up with it. I guess we will see over the next couple of years how this shakes out.
If YG doesn't promote them as group anymore , the popularity of the members will decrease gradually. It is known that KPOP groups are more popular than solo artists.Ppl who went to their tours are mostly there for the group not the individuals. No one of them could fill even a small venue alone while as group they filled stadiums. They surely will make tons of money now that they don't share with YG but also their popularity will decrease. So ppl being happy that finally the girls are free and can be more active, you will be soon shocked by the reality
They thought the solo stans of bp can manage by the member itself. They thought one member from bp can surpass bp's grp song in hot100 and thought they can let the members chart higher on their own in the US without knowing that they cant buy a thing in the US itunes, bb hot100 and bb album chart in the US
But they need to flop so that they can open their eyes and go back as a grp and stop focusing on brand deals and fashion shows and they need to focus on music group-solo and they are just 4 members and the 2 members can literally release their album at the same month and 1 group cb after 2 months in the same year. And they can literally release single album which is just 2 songs cuz that's how yg works and they will just go to 2 music shows and they never promote in korea anyways, so what's stopping them to do that? 🤷♀️ In 2024, they should've release 1 single group album and 1 solo single track by a member at the same month or for example 1 solo single track in march and another single solo track in april and in January or feb single album for the group and the 2nd half of the yr will be for the solo albums. Idk why they wasted the 1st half cuz having a collab it's not a problem cuz the songs are not under their names and they will never promote that in music shows and they are not the one who produced it and it depends if they are allowed to write and composed by the owner of the song. And in 2025 the 2 members can release at the first half of the yr and on the 2nd half they can release another group cb which is mini album and the tour will be in 2026 which is the 2nd half of 2026 and before going on tour they can release full album, they never promote in korea and they only have few promotions overall anyways
Tbh I was so confused about all this but after Jennie said in recent lee hyori show her first full album is coming this year it feels like a breath of fresh air....As I know YG that company will never gave them more than 2 songs so all I can say they left for good We are going to get more music and that's the only thing I care about
Of course we will probably have to wait longer for a group comeback since it looks like the members will be focusing on their individual careers this year. Just an educated guess since they were on tour for a long time and probably needed a well deserve break from group activities.
@@Limonelguey Yeah. It really depends on the details of the group contract (which nobody outside of YG knows). If it's very flexible about group activities, it probably means that there will be very few group activities. OTOH, if the contract has specific requirements, such as requiring that a certain number of albums MUST BE produced within a certain period of time and the members MUST match their individual schedules to not block the group schedule, then we could see the positives on both aspects, more individual projects PLUS great group comebacks and activities. Based on YG's past patterns, however, it's probably not likely that YG will arrange things that way. YG always wants total control, so if they decide they want to push BabyMonster and ignore BP...that's what will happen...and in such case we can be very grateful now that the individual members of BP will not be forced to just stay quiet in the YG dungeon during some ridiculously long hiatus.
@@TEAM__POSEID0N one thing that people looked over during the selection of the baby monster members, is that yg is working on 2 more girl groups for down the road. Another kpop girl group and a global girl group made out of Japanese members. It's very possible yg could have another 5th gen girl group since baby monster was probably meant to be yg's 4th gen girl group but they took too long to debut them
@@Limonelguey Yeah, the problem with YG as a company is that everything...EVERYTHING...literally revolves around Yang Hyun Suk. Whatever he focuses on...the whole company focuses on. His priorities are everyone's priorities. If he decides he's going to focus on a number of future groups, Blackpink will definitely not get much attention...until he needs another quick hit of cash. Basically, that's what was going on in 2013~2016. YHS was so focused on the new boy groups that everyone else was being ignored. Blackpink didn't really become a priority until, with much less investment and support, they shocked YG by becoming the most popular group at the company...even with only 5 or 6 songs.
You are going to get more solo songs not group songs starting this yr lol and they are following got7, snsd and suju's path that they rarely comebacks after having their own agency
It's an obvious pattern at YG...especially for girl groups. Unfortunately, at YG, it's basically a one-man company when it comes to decision making. Everyone there is afraid of Yang Hyun Suk, so he is surrounded by "yes men" and "yes women". As a result, the focus of the company's management always depends on the personal priorities of Yang Hyun Suk. (And for those who don't know, YHS never stopped being the top boss...even when he stepped out of the spotlight during the scandals. The co-CEOs are picked by him and are basically his employees. One of them is of course his younger brother and the other one is a woman who has been a YG employee for decades.)
It should be noted, however, that the situation with 2NE1 was quite different at the end. When Blackpink debuted in 2016, 2NE1 had already been completely inactive since the end of 2014 and Minzy had already left YG for good. In 2024, Blackpink is the biggest girl group in the entire world, and just recently completed a record-setting global concert and performance tour that included 70 performances in 24 countries. So they SHOULD BE the ultimate, top, biggest, highest priority ever for YG. YG management SHOULD HAVE given special contract arrangements and support for each individual member...enough for them to be happy and want to re-sign with YG as individuals. YG didn't. YG just can't give up total control over decisions because Yang Hyun Suk doesn't want to work WITH artists under the label as much as he wants to be their BOSS in everything they do. The BP members knew that they would continue to be very restricted if they signed again with YG as individuals. So they didn't. It's as simple as that.

I love BLACKPINK and they have so much potential its just that YG didn't treat them right, they are worth so much more than YG what could give them. I'm sad BLACKPINK is coming to an end but I'm so excited to see what the girls do next, they all have so much potential!
True I agree to you idk if YG really love BP since 2018 due to the fact that YG gave the girls a 100 vacation days but it seems YG really dont love the girls... Since then BP finally have their own labels Jennie for OA ent Jisoo for BLISSO Lisa is for LLOUD idk for Roaè but hopefully that YG can still.open their eyes and see the reality bc I promise that young girls and boys cannot audition in Yg for their such behavior...
These 4 girls are epic and they made a new definition for the word "history". I wish them all of the success. It's a good thing they've left the exploitation of YG. They deserve better contracts and more opening to European/American market!
I hope they can do whatever they want I wish they could stay as a group and I pray for that as well Love them so much YG sucks thank god they didn't renew their contracts
Although hugely successful, I feel like the company really missed out on so much more potential for the girls so I’m glad they’re taking things into their own hands and hopefully find more opportunities with their new companies!
Good for them !! But I’m still mind blown how they managed to become so popular under those conditions! Could you imagine how much they could have achieved if YG would had them more active !! Could you imagine
They’re already the most popular girl group in the world. How much more success could they have had? And they seem to be exhausted from the amount of work they’re doing whether it’s for the group or solo, so how much more could they have handled? Genuinely curious. ❤
It make sense that they announces another world tour because thats the only time that the 4members will reunite as a group. Ofc except for promotion of new song. But what to expect from YG about releasing Music. Im more excited for solo individual music now. Specially for Rosé.
It's obvious that BP has all the hype and popularity but YG failed to grab those kinds of opportunities to release a good amount of music. Heck even their studio length album has only 8 songs and it's just a bunch of singles that were released months prior. I mean they have all the resources (producers, writers, chreographers) and cant give them a proper release/comeback. They always rely on BP's hype and popularity and assume that fans would willingly wait for them to release new music but for how long they would keep this momentum until fans grow tired and lose interest to them.
For some odd reason ever since last year both YG and SM Entertainment have been nothing but trouble regarding contracts, comeback and and lack of promotions, Hybe isnt any better Hybe is trying to get rid of the K in kpop and turn it into a regular Pop music to get a spot in the western market the way i see it JYP is the only company that is currently doing good
@@lhmasawna3020 no Teddy is the one that produces all their songs and he’s under strict regulation to not make music anywhere else. If he left that company, he could probably blow up in the states.
I was a Blink at the beginning, but after songs like "As If It's Your Last" and "Playing with Fire" all the songs began to sound the same to me and I began to turn my interests to other groups with a more variety of sound. I liked Ddu-du ddu-du, but the songs after that just sounded the same. I don't deny that the songs aren't popular, but I kinda got bored of their songs, they seemed to follow trends instead of creating trends. (Heck, in Baby Monster is following in 2NE1 and Blackpinks footsteps) I feel like YG began to treat them like a Luxury product rather than a group. YG dangled them out in front of fans like something that they wanted to have, but never could get. Gaslighting the group and fandom into thinking quality songs over quantity songs, but their are groups that have twice as many songs as they and debuted several years after they did. And then their solo activities mirrored their group activities, single albums with one or two songs, barely promoted. I heard someone call Blackpink "Influencers that Moonlight has Idols" and I kinda agree with them. It's not the fault of Blackpink at all, but all on YG. If any other company treated their group the way that YG treated and treats Blackpink they probably would have fallen off the map and disbanded already. I hope the best for their individual activities because they are talented, but YG failed to help them progress in their music endeavors and I really would like to see what they are able to put out on their own. I have that same hope for G Dragon too. YG screwed up big time.
Their title tracks have essentially the "signature" sound for Blackpink. Nothing wrong with that. They don't really sound "the same" except that most of them are heavily hip-hop influenced. But if you want variety, you can get it easily in their b-side tracks...which IMO stand out among Kpop groups for presenting things that really are fresh and different.
i just love them together , like they are the most famous , talented and the strongesst band i have ever seen and because of the company they are suffering so lets wish to see them together💓
like Rose only got TWO solo in SEVEN years in YG, but now as she is in blacklabel she TWELVE songs in her first album! this just shows how messed up yg even is..
the thing that irritated me the most is they gave Jennie a song that already leaked years ago y can you just make a new song for her? Idk y😞 YG has money enough but they just lack at promotion and management Btw You & me is a good song im looking forward to their next album and I hope YG does it better next time
YG has imo seriously mismanaged BlackPink. Each of the members are special in their own right and can easily make it as solo artists. However we were drip fed comebacks and promotional content for years. I cant imagine how it must have been like to actually be in the group during the tours. You perfume the same limited set each and every time with no variety.
To be honest, I’m happy for Lisa; she is ultimately an amazing performer and I see her doing amazing things outside the idol industry. I see Jennie and Jisoo being actresses for real; Jennie def in the west because of being more recognized here. As for miss Rosie she’s def gonna have a world tour as a soloist and I will be there on front row.
YG is crap. They don't care about their artistes at all. Just try to milk them and then think of ways to dump them. Other agencies renew contracts long before expiry date. YG was probably quietly planning on launching Baby Monster and not renewing BP already. They just didn't expect BP to make such a phenomenal impact with their world tour and to keep gaining unheard of global recognition and popularity. It was probably only then that YG started to try retain them instead. Too bad, they did too little too late. I am glad the girls decided to ditch them and seek their own paths instead.
I don't think they expected blackpink to literally become the premier girl group of kpop and the second biggest kpop group overall behind bts. 2NE1 at their height were neck in neck with SNSD for the best girl group of the 2nd generation.
What would happen if YG never pushed Blackpink into the US market? Would they had even more popularity, what had been the difference? YG is a bad company. While other artists like Twice renewing with JYP and BTS renewing with Big Hit. Blackpink had so much potential but YG choose not to show it all. What a huge waste of talent for the girls.
@@jordicarvajal2834 Blackpink would still be popular cause kpop was getting more popular in the states through the internet and word by mouth around 2016/2017. BTS became the premier kpop group through the internet and word by mouth even without focusing on the states just yet.
@@Limonelguey BTS gain their popularity in the US in an organic way. Like they weren't pushed into the US market like how Blackpink was pushed after the success of D4. YG could had let their popularity be organic but they chose to push BP into the US market in 2018. They were only 2 years old and they didn't even had a full album yet. At that time they had very few comebacks and lack of promotions. The internet and social media has played a huge role of making K-pop global. With K-pop being so mainstreamed in the west, the genre has completely changed. More English lyrics or songs completely in English, more collabs with western artists, less full albums, more overseas promotions outside of Asia, more westernized sounds, more girl crush and other mature concepts, etc.
When I saw this all I thought was like will I ever get to see a concert with them all because like 2 months ago I found BLACKPINK and I got to say I love them so much that I want to be them soooooo yeah I do hope they figure something out like all the girls can continue BLACKPINK in a different company ❤😢🎉
The most thing that matters if they stay together and we all know they can't separate they literally see each others as sisters and forever Choice a pic we are happy with it and anyway why she never even let blackpink happy everything was sad for blackpink so they deserve this happiness
I can only dream of bp being handeled like this : 2016 : 1st & 2nd Single Albums (2 songs each) 2017 : 1st Mini Album (6 songs) 2018 : 1st Full Album (12 songs) + Jennie's 1st Mini Album (5 songs) 2019 : 2nd Mini Album (6 songs) + Rosé's 1st Mini Album (5 Songs) 2020 : 3rd Single Album (HYLT) + 2nd Full Album (12 Songs) 2021 : Lisa's 1st Mini Album (5 Songs) + 4th Single Album 2022 : Jisoo's 1st Mini Album (5 songs) + 3rd Full Album (14 Songs) 2023 : 3rd Mini Album (6 Songs) as renewal & 7th anniversary gift they would have kept the "quality over quantity" bullsh!t with the 1 release per year but have an actual decent discography
Yes but the girls dont prioritize music, they prefer going to useless fashion shows that's how they do in the 1st half of 2024. The girls can literally release 2 solo album at the same month and 1 group cb in a year (single or mini album) and they never promote in korea anyway
I hope Jisoo pursue more of acting.. when she joined this industry, she wanted to be an actress first and foremost, so she definitely has the passion for it. I will definitely be watching her closely and all the girls with their individual careers. Kinda surprised that it was possible to be contracted with a company as a group and on a different company for individual activities… i legit thought when YG announced they renewed their contract as a group, that included individual stuff as well.. the more you know ig.
Mamamoo is in a similar position. Iirc they didn’t even all have the same contract end-dates. But Wheein has been under different solo management for a few years and Hwasa is now also under different management for solo activities. They had a group tour in 2023 but no comeback as 4 (Wheein and Hwasa had solos, Moonbyul and Solar had several unit releases together). Given how infrequently BP had comebacks, there might be little difference in their group activities lol
im so happy i wanted the girls to disband asap they’ll shine even more on their own, especially lisa after hearing that she is paid the same as them yet she brings the energy to most of thero performances
One question we're not asking ourselves is what YG will look like once Blackpink leaves for good. As previously announced, both G-Dragon and Blackpink will maintain their sales figures, so I can't wait to see what happens. Because honestly, if YG keeps going the way it is, it's going to lose the Big 3 symbol and Hybe will take its place.
Hybe is already considered a whole different thing, it's as successful as the big three (probably even more) but the big three will just stay as it is, even if one of them falls
TBH, I can't really see why G-Dragon is even included in this topic. Of course he was a big factor at YG in the past. But he hasn't been a big factor in YG sales or revenue really since 2018...and he's already left YG for good, as was formally confirmed just a few months ago. It really has been mainly ONLY Blackpink that has kept YG going for the past 5 years or so. The funny thing is that it was almost by accident because YG originally never expected Blackpink to be the company's biggest group. As a girl group at YG they were originally low priority. Most of the investment went into the new boy groups. BP's pre-debut promotions were practically non-existent, while the boy groups had years worth of pre-debut weekly reality TV shows for promotions. Blackpink definitely paved the way for BabyMonster. BabyMonster is the first YG GG ever to get decent pre-debut promotions.
YG this is a humble request🙏🙏🙏 by all the blinks in the world to give our queen's as much songs as possible as we don't want them to leave this kpop industry, we all will support our girls where ever they go or whatever they do but please release as much as albums you can as it would be helpful to keep all our 4 girls together as a kpop group known as BLACKPINK. Please try to get them back, not just for blinks but also for your own prophet because you just have 4 girls on lead to continue your income. And if we loose our legends we won't stan k-pop anymore, they are our sunshine, our day, our night our whole world relay on them ❤. We just want the members happy. That's really all BLINKS want - whatever they want to do, they should do it. They've been held back long enough (let alone by the people are supposed to help push them forward). We will support no matter what, even the solo stans will be out numbered. BP is wonderful and the members deserved SOOOO MUUUUUCH better - (ik diff groups, members, companies etc) but just comparing to what BTS released (FROM A NUGU COMPANY AT THE TIME) to BP (the VERY established company) it's just ridiculous that they depended so much on this scarcity marketing strategy. Like YG really had THE girl group and they fumbled it so so so bad - I wonder if YG will cease to be a "big 3" company as HYBE will take their spot.
this reminds me of the era of 2ne1 and blackpink but it's different if blackpink's agency took them as a group because they wanted to focus on babymonster considering their concept is the same so blackpink members have to leave to start their own activities😢
If company was failing financially then sending those girls into fashion World was such amazing strategy by yg cux fashion industry is much much profitable than music industry so it was obvious they were sent to more fashion shows than having a comebacks..😅 But now let the girls shine more. It honestly sucks that with this new arrangement we’ll probably get less group content since the group is still managed by YG…BUT at least we get more content of the members themselves because individually the lacks a lot of content so either way I feel like it’s a win win situation.
i believe they renewed their group contract for blinks it was obvious that they were tired of yg s management i feel bad how yg wasted their talents i hope they will do best things in future although iam abit nervous for them but i hope everything goes well 💖
Everyone is behaving like all their biases or favorite groups all take part in writing songs. As much as this would piss people off, not every idol or group writes their own songs. Even if they take part in writing, sometimes, they don't get credit. As a company, YG has failed many of its artists. I wish they had maintained 2NE1, Bigbang and many of their groups. Look at Shinee even till date, they are active. People be going around saying how Blackpink is not grateful to YG. I feel, for them to grow more, they needed to be YG. The company is well known for mismanagement so I really hope they don't repeat their mistakes with Treasure or Babymonster because they would be wasting talent
It's starting to look like YG is more like something you graduate from as an artist. Like being at a university, an artist at YG should do everything they can to become successful during their first contract period...and then leave...as though they had received their diploma and were ready to go into the next phase. The artists who stick with YG for a second contract period usually end up getting sidelined and only used from time to time to help promote the younger groups.
They should get some great song writers and make couple of albums for one last time. They are in their late 20s, before they get old they should do it again. On their terms. And after that, do a grand world tour.
Hey Kookielit, I was wondering if you could do a video or at least a segment about the singer Aoora? He recently joined an Indian reality TV show Bigg Boss and he's the first Korean singer to do so, so I thought it might be something worth talking about... thank you! ❤
I'm going to say this again.... Yang-Hyun-suk is a piece of crap. He started YG Entertainment as a Hip Hop company. Then he decided to expand. He had artist waiting to debut (some waited 2 years after being introduced). He signed them to long contracts but as soon as those contracts were over, they left. He really doesn't know how to manage. Fans of 2NE1 warned us. They told us about how unfair and shady YG can be. They told us about the "YG Dungeon". I became a 2NE1 fan after doing my own research after fans voiced their concerns etc. Man did YG screw that up. Then I read who was signed with them. How do you have top talent and not know how to manage is insane. I hope these ladies are successful in whatever they decide to do. I'm sure they learned a lot from this.
This probably sounds like I'm hating but I'm happy the Blackpink members are out of the idol industry. They were never promoted like idols, they had few releases but the most toxic fanbase gobbling up anything they put out even if it was bad (Sour Candy, Ice Cream, Shut Down, The Girls, etc), they overshadowed more talented groups, they became better known as luxury brand ambassadors than singers, and they spend most of their time overseas. They will all be happier not promoting as idols in Korea. Maybe now they will finally start to grow as artists and reach their true potential. I'm lookng forward to seeing Jisoo in Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint, especially, since it's a big role for a popular series and she now has time to hone her acting skills to bring out the best performance. I wish the other girls the best, too. They deserve better than YG gave them. Hopefully they won't end up forgotten like 2NE1 and BIGBANG before them.

Yg ent. Always played favoritism. This is why a lot of artists don’t renew their contracts. Same with jyp and sm. Yg always showed disrespect towards Lisa, from outfits to just overall treatment. Should try to be more like big hit now hybe. Make it so that the group as a whole is important not just one out two people out of the group. Black pink is going the way of Got 7. They’ll all do their own thing, and maybe in the future they’ll reassemble under a different name but under different agencies.
It isn't surprising that they left since they never were treated like the worldwide idols they are. Blackpink walking away will probably sink YG. I do not understand why they never promoted and worked for the group because they could have made soo much more money if they promoted them appropriately.
I’ve said this for a bit but now that YG doesn’t have G dragon or the Blackpink members however they still have group activities in YG I hope now YG can put all there attention to there current groups such as babymonster AKMU treasure and especially WINNER because WINNER was There second boy group coming out of YG
Actually, if you're familiar with the company history, it was Blackpink that had super-low priority as a group at YG when they debuted. Winner and Ikon were heavily invested in and promoted hugely by YG, including more than a year's worth of PRE-DEBUT weekly TV shows (such as WIN and Mix & Match). YG's original intention was to focus almost everything on the new boy groups and BP was just a low priority (having almost zero pre-debut promotions) girl group...because with 2NE1 gone it would look weird to have no girl group at all. YG never expected BP to become the company's biggest and most successful group ever. They didn't even get a real album release for the first two years. BP surprised YG management, which only started giving priority to BP when it became obvious that they were already the company's most popular group...with only about 7 songs. That said, I think the problem with Winner is that YG re-styled them after they debuted. They became very popular as "Team A" in the WIN show (pre-debut) and their style was to have great harmonies and focus heavily on complex musicality. But YG changed that style after they debuted and I don't think the restyling worked as well. It also didn't help that one of the members left.
Unfortunately, for all of the new boy groups, they ALL lost key members. In Winner, Nam Tae-Hyun was a key member. His stage presence was particularly charismatic and his voice added a lot to the group. He was a key ingredient in their initial popularity. Unfortunately, he also has kind of a flaky and unappealing real-life personality and ended up leaving the group. Of course in iKon, B.I. was THE key member, or along with Bobby, one of the two key members. His departure was a blow the group couldn't really survive. Treasure also lost two of its key members. Given the tons of investment YG put into all three of those boy groups, the disappointment at YG in the way things have played out must be huge. Meanwhile, with very little initial investment in BP, they ended up skyrocketing to the greatest success ever for a YG group. The juxtaposition must be very confusing for YG management.
I know for group activities they're still in YG exclusive contracts, but for their Individual activities they are not, like JENNIE has her owned company right now OA Entertainment and JISOO also for BLISSOO. I'm sorry for not clearing of what I mean on my first comment..
He's not in jail. He got a "suspended sentence"...meaning that if he is caught breaking any laws or conditions of the suspended sentence...THEN he has to go to prison. But if he keeps his nose clean and stays out of trouble he can continue managing his company, which is what he is currently doing.
Tbh I genuinely thought the girls don't want to do music anymore but now I can clearly see the actual problem was THAT company.... Jennie's full album is coming this year something that was impossible to happen if she was under YG, going to kbs to perform that was prohibited to do bcz yg have problems with kbs Rosé also expressed she wants to have a full album All I can say freedom looks good on them
Thank god they did not renew their individual contracts. We will get much more content from the girls. YG sucks as a company so much!!!!

You are absolutely right 👏👍
Isnt it that she performed crazy horse after finishing her contract with YG thoufh?
Its self-sabbotage but it also allows YG to better control their idols.
it's " I'll ruin you whenever I want" attitude. I
@@TEAM__POSEID0Nso you're saying this blackpink got under control by YG company stuff and agent too, why is their a excuse to do that for or not being to go having some trip vaca to enjoy, is that he want it
Like I am seeing Rose's act
in Babymonster.
YG dug their own grave like how could they not see this coming
How so ?
I can’t wait for their new projects especially Rosé’s
I will never understand how YG works. 🤦🏾♀️
I hope they are able to actually have freedom and control over, not just their music, but their own life too now
and thats why there no new songs, except flower, you and me...and so on.... and thats why there were no new dance practices....❤
Girl... they put out an album after two years from their last, i think they have much time to rest besides their modelling activities and other stuff...for example there's other groups who put out 1-2 albums/mini albums/singles
(Before u come at me i am a blink too but i also think they're not the only ones to be overworked)
@@french_fries_1 i understand that too...everything yg does is like breaking blackpink lol
They are getting the 2ne1 treatment. At least they did not have to hear about their disbandment on public platforms when babymonster debuted. Luckily, they have more control now for their individual promotion. Hopefully, they are able to explore their potential and follow their dreams!

@@orion5445 I don't think the members nor YG is fool to do so.Who would want to disband after of having so much success and popularity.
@rockstar. 57 I agree with you, you don't have to be very clever to realize that, but some seem to ignore it on purpose
Probably nothing will change, they would have a comeback once a year or two and do a few shows together + maybe another world tour
That's true, cus it's pretty obvious from those groups that did the same with their company
In 2024, they should've release 1 single group album and 1 solo single track by a member at the same month or for example 1 solo single track in march and another single solo track in april and in January or feb single album for the group and the 2nd half of the yr will be for the solo albums.
Tbh I was so confused about all this but after Jennie said in recent lee hyori show her first full album is coming this year it feels like a breath of fresh air....As I know YG that company will never gave them more than 2 songs so all I can say they left for good
We are going to get more music and that's the only thing I care about
Of course we will probably have to wait longer for a group comeback since it looks like the members will be focusing on their individual careers this year.
YG was the issue 💯👏🏽
How
About three months ago I read that BP will still perform as a group whenever possible.
The same was said about 2NE1, can we stop acting surprised about YG and their horrible management skills 😐
yea...can we...

They will obviously prioritize thier solo activities otherwise they wouldn't have looked elsewhere or started individual management. The next group comeback will probably be a long time away

I would be happy if They leave yg and do their own thing but I still can’t think of the fact that there is no more Blackpink 😢
they go on world tour with less than 25 songs(22 blackpink songs) 😂😂 (32 including solo songs.)
Fans will complain either way. That's just how they are.

Same ok , I'm not even a full blink . But I'm so mad
(Heck, in Baby Monster is following in 2NE1 and Blackpinks footsteps)
I feel like YG began to treat them like a Luxury product rather than a group.
KPOP always follows trends. It's not something new, this goes all the way back to the 1st generation.

Btw You & me is a good song im looking forward to their next album and I hope YG does it better next time
My girls deserved to treat better
Even tho they barely release their album but BLINKS always stay by their side🫶I feel proud to be a part of BLINK
At Least A fifth member of BLACKPINK called Miyeon left YG entertainment and is lucky

Yes but the girls dont prioritize music, they prefer going to useless fashion shows that's how they do in the 1st half of 2024. The girls can literally release 2 solo album at the same month and 1 group cb in a year (single or mini album) and they never promote in korea anyway
Why am I crying..

Always supporting BLACKPINK as a group and solo artists.
AND A CEO
One question we're not asking ourselves is what YG will look like once Blackpink leaves for good. As previously announced, both G-Dragon and Blackpink will maintain their sales figures, so I can't wait to see what happens. Because honestly, if YG keeps going the way it is, it's going to lose the Big 3 symbol and Hybe will take its place.
YG will never stop being Big 3. It's about history nor money, power or size.
Big 3 is because THEY MADE KPOP I fear that WON'T CHANGE IT
Hybe is already considered a whole different thing, it's as successful as the big three (probably even more) but the big three will just stay as it is, even if one of them falls

And if we loose our legends we won't stan k-pop anymore, they are our sunshine, our day, our night our whole world relay on them ❤. Please keep them together in YG BLACKPINK and send them with new comebacks. We beg you give them happiness with the company by providing them new songs and albums. Blinks will be great full to you if you do so and we will pray for them to stay the biggest girl group in kpop which would be in every single person's heart forever. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤WITH A LOTS OF LOVE BY ALL THE BLINKS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤. BLINKS I THE WHOLE WORLD PLEASE LIKE THIS COMMENT IF U AGREE❤❤❤
Thank goodness
this reminds me of the era of 2ne1 and blackpink but it's different if blackpink's agency took them as a group because they wanted to focus on babymonster considering their concept is the same so blackpink members have to leave to start their own activities😢
If company was failing financially then sending those girls into fashion World was such amazing strategy by yg cux fashion industry is much much profitable than music industry so it was obvious they were sent to more fashion shows than having a comebacks..😅
But now let the girls shine more.
Jennie OA
Lisa Lloud
Jisoo Blisoo

It honestly sucks that with this new arrangement we’ll probably get less group content since the group is still managed by YG…BUT at least we get more content of the members themselves because individually the lacks a lot of content so either way I feel like it’s a win win situation.
i believe they renewed their group contract for blinks it was obvious that they were tired of yg s management i feel bad how yg wasted their talents i hope they will do best things in future although iam abit nervous for them but i hope everything goes well 💖
they are escaping 🎉
Everyone is behaving like all their biases or favorite groups all take part in writing songs. As much as this would piss people off, not every idol or group writes their own songs. Even if they take part in writing, sometimes, they don't get credit. As a company, YG has failed many of its artists. I wish they had maintained 2NE1, Bigbang and many of their groups. Look at Shinee even till date, they are active.
People be going around saying how Blackpink is not grateful to YG. I feel, for them to grow more, they needed to be YG. The company is well known for mismanagement so I really hope they don't repeat their mistakes with Treasure or Babymonster because they would be wasting talent
guess how bad yg is if all their idols are leaving the moment they get to
It's starting to look like YG is more like something you graduate from as an artist. Like being at a university, an artist at YG should do everything they can to become successful during their first contract period...and then leave...as though they had received their diploma and were ready to go into the next phase. The artists who stick with YG for a second contract period usually end up getting sidelined and only used from time to time to help promote the younger groups.
😭😭😭 please debut BLACKPINK and do not open DASH BY MDK😭😭😭😭😭
The only thing im afraid of is if they never make music together again
I hope they will have their own hobbies but I hope they will be as Blackpink 🥺🙂
The drought strategy worked out for the first 4/5 years but it was just a bubble that popped in yg's face
Thats why i feel bad for babymonster 😭
Me too. I haven't listened to their songs but I'm sure they're good.❤
@@candy_yayy u can tell that " Batter up " is a mix of Blackpink and 2ne1 songs 100% but their ׁׅvoclas are amazing I thought I was going to be disappointed but no I was surprised u should 100% look at their songs
I'm so happy for them and will always support them!!!
People are so worried of yg losing things more than yg themselves😂😂
😂😂 point 😂

YG has failed BP from the start.
The chances are small she has come out with three new songs and two are on the way. She has opened her own company to.😂❤ 7:40
Its already 2024 and de girls are still K-pop idols
I wish OA can have ChungHa as an artist. Imagine Chungha x Jennie🔥
Leaving YG is a good decision for BlackPink.
They still under YG but just for group activities... their individual stuff is managed by their own.
I know for group activities they're still in YG exclusive contracts, but for their Individual activities they are not, like JENNIE has her owned company right now OA Entertainment and JISOO also for BLISSOO. I'm sorry for not clearing of what I mean on my first comment..
I'm so sad but it's ok i love blackpink forever
When YG's ex-CEO/producer leaves jail, he can focus only on BabyFlopsters...
He actually got probation. The chances of him seeing the inside of a prison cell was always slim to nil.
He's not in jail. He got a "suspended sentence"...meaning that if he is caught breaking any laws or conditions of the suspended sentence...THEN he has to go to prison. But if he keeps his nose clean and stays out of trouble he can continue managing his company, which is what he is currently doing.
@@TEAM__POSEID0N Aah, OK. Thanks for the correction. So still not seen the inside of a prison cell.
Meanwhile Billie with only FIVE songs becoming the most streamed female artist...
Tbh I genuinely thought the girls don't want to do music anymore but now I can clearly see the actual problem was THAT company....
Jennie's full album is coming this year something that was impossible to happen if she was under YG, going to kbs to perform that was prohibited to do bcz yg have problems with kbs
Rosé also expressed she wants to have a full album
All I can say freedom looks good on them
But as a group they exist 😢
