Not really a surprise Microsoft doesn't really do exclusive anymore. Sony does timed exclusives mostly Nintendo the only one who does normal exclusives. The day Nintendo officially starts releasing their games on PC, I'll be a PC gamer. Given I don't think that's going to happen in my lifetime.
@@MyztikalForcezt hat’s why Nintendo is doing their best to make it harder for the switch 2 games to be so easily emulated. Pc players won’t have that luxury moving forward. But I get that many don’t have the same conscience.
Playa, you late. Nintendo has been emulated the most since its existence. PC is literally all consoles and then some. I mean the only reason to get Nintendo is to play online but I never viewed the device as a online device, more of like a more personal LAN type of device
I was tempted to get an Xbox for the exclusives when they started buying big IPs a year ago, but they are releasing on other platforms now, so I don’t need to. PS exclusives going to to PC is making reconsider getting a PS6. The only reason I have a PS now is for the physical copies. Same with the switch exclusives and physical copies. I think exclusives still matter, particularly for Nintendo, but not as much as they used to. The budgets of AAA games have skyrocketed and the development times has more than doubled from a few gens ago. However, the console market has only grown marginally. Still, I also think Sony giving away their exclusives will hurt them in the long run. Nintendo has the right idea in recognising the value of their exclusives.

Remember back in the day where games needed to get the Nintendo Seal of Quality/Approval. I guess that quality doesn't matter to Nintendo now, as long the money comes in and they get their cut, they're happy.
@@ryuno2097 the seal of quality was just a way to fight back against the skepticism over console video games after the 1983 crash. It was an illusion that Nintendo actively was screening games for quality. The fact is they did no such thing, they did screen for content a bit which is why some games were edited from the Japanese counterparts, but it was really just an emblem that the publisher of the game paid Nintendo and played by their rules. I guess it slightly worked though because they did limit the number of releases they could do, so they couldn’t just shovel any old crap like they did in the Atari days.
I also believe that Nintendo got into legal trouble with the Seal of Approval/Quality and that it was creating a kind of monopoly on the games. I am not sure of the specifics but I think that is why they dropped the seal of quality However the idea has some merit in trying to improve the eshop
EGG SQUEEZE ME? BAKING POWDER? You DO know the only thing a game with an official Nintendo seal means is that Nintendo approved this game can be sold on their system and that the game will work on the system, not that the game is good.

Imo Xbox should have started this multi platform push years ago, Xbox fans are angry they were told to "be patient, big things are coming" but now all those big things are for every platform 😂
3:37 I hope they don't do what they did with Symphonia. 30fps on the PC port is unforgivable when the original was 60 fps on the gamecube. They should do Tales of Phantasia and give it a FFVII like remake.
It's unfortunately impossible to have the PC port (or any other future port of the game) 60fps due to the original game's source code being completely lost. Each new release of Symphonia is an iteration of the Japanese only PS2 version that needed to be 30fps due the PS2's weaker hardware, but that version contained more content. Unfortunately, the animations were somehow tied directly to the framerate, and the efforts that modders have attempted to get it to 60fps completely broke the game. One of my favorite videos showcasing this is titled "Tales of Symphonia 60 FPS Test1" from the channel MrGencyExit64. If you watch it, you'll see exactly how 60fps breaks the game. It looks hilarious.
@Yuri-xx2gi Just talking about the quality of graphics. If they go for the original story (The one on the original manuscript) then they might as well release that as a alternative in a second game even with reused assets. But that's just a pipedream of mine.

Gamers in early switch when they blocked axiom verge: Nintendo ur being too strict be more lenient with your shop Gamers now: ur being too lenient be more strict
The seal of quality ended when Nintendo lost control of the market. They controlled the industry with cartridges made by them, so then developers had to adhere to Nintendo's standards. When Sony released the Playstation, the consumers and game developers turned away from Nintendo in favor of cheaper media and less high standards for games. Now, Nintendo only guarantees high quality and standards for their own developed games, and could not care less of the standards or quality of other games. That's what the people (and developers) voted for when they left Nintendo behind. Nintendo never stopped caring for high quality, they just stopped forcing others to care too.
The seal of quality was never a guarantee that it would be a good game. If you think that, explain how AVGN was successful reviewing bad NES/SNES/N64 games for the past 20 years?
When you’re talking about the Xbox situation with the games going everywhere I’m glad that you are using Microsoft as the pusher of this and not Xbox. I don’t think a lot of outlets or news articles are going to phrase it that way, but you specifying Microsoft over Xbox doing these things gives it a clearer picture.
If you are mad that Xbox isn't just a home console anymore, you probably should have bought one over the last decade like they asked. It's a business You can't spend a decade making fun of them for being in last place, and then get mad when they agree with you and try a different strategy
People did but they decided to do stupid shit id of bought an xbox 1 had don mattrick insulted me and gamers alike and made a shitty tv entertainment console that was still bad at the end of its lifecycle because of poor decisions in developing it. Xbox have done this to themselves not us they made bad decisions we didnt buy so rather than improving you and them are blaming us for their failures
That's not how business works. Microsoft has to earn consumer confidence. They did that with the Xbox 360, even with the RROD. They began destroying what they earned when they revealed the Xbox One. And other decisions after that pushed consumers away even more. What Phil could've done was learn from his mistakes and right the ship. But he didn't do that, even though he's always talking about learning. What he should've learned is that great, exclusive games sell consoles. And he also should've learned that just giving up and saying, "We lost the most important generation," doesn't inspire confidence in anyone. In case he missed it, Nintendo lost that generation too, with the Wii U, by a much bigger margin, but Nintendo learned and made adjustments and came roaring back with the Switch. Nintendo earned what they now have. Microsoft isn't earning anything anymore, except people being relieved that they finally released a good game in Indiana Jones.
@@G360LIVE For what it's worth, Phil never had a real chance to turn the Xbox One generation around. He took over in 2014/5, but it wasn't until 2018 when Microsoft actually started giving him the support he needed (aka, money to buy new studios again) to turn things around. And given that average AAA dev time is currently 6 years, even then it was too late to get things ready in time to come out swinging at the start of this gen. That's not to say he hasn't made mistakes, but has realistically done the most of what he could have with a losing situation. The damage was done at the end of the 360 gen when leadership tried to pivot away from making games by closing most of their studios and making the Xbox One more of a multimedia machine. At which point, Sony smartly doubled down on games and "won" over the player base, and now people are locked in on their digital libraries / trophies. Xbox COULD throw money at making things truely exclusive again, but even if they did everything right they're unlikely to truely claw back the market share to make it worth it. Much better to pivot to this new strategy, given PC is where the growth is anyway. While their Console sales seem to just keep chugging along slower than they'd like, but not actually bottoming out from the multiplatform push either.
I won't say it's real, but people need to reminded that Last of us 2 got delayed and someone posted the entire transcripts on 4chan, which went viral, where naughty dog suddenly released the game EARLY, and everything on it was true, and the funniest part? The Rushed release didn't have bugs. Until this "leak" is proven true or false, people will have recipients, and it will happen again regardless.
It's not Nintendo's place to do anything but take care of their own games. The indie developer needs to follow the DMCA. The DMCA has a process. You file a take down notice. They can challenge the take down notice at which point the filer has a number of days to either file a lawsuit against the offender or the platform holder must reinstate the content.
I do not see the this is an Xbox campaign as one to inspire hope, to be honest it makes me feel like the Xbox is either dead or dying, it feels like a very non-competitive state and for that reason I have very little hope in both the future of Xbox and the industry as a whole, I'm worried because this basically means that Sony is left uncontested.
@mikeuk666 that is more optimistic way of looking at it, however I see it as a platform slowly deteriorating, going from platform holder to publisher, doesn't sound like something that can compete with PlayStation to me.
I played far cry 3 & blood dragon back in the day and returned to the series to play far cry 6. I was so disappointed how familiar everything felt, to the point I thought it felt like a far cry 3 expansion of sorts.

PS exclusives going to to PC is making reconsider getting a PS6. The only reason I have a PS now is for the physical copies. Same with the switch exclusives and physical copies.

The budgets of AAA games have skyrocketed and the development times has more than doubled from a few gens ago. However, the console market has only grown marginally. Still, I also think Sony giving away their exclusives will hurt them in the long run. Nintendo has the right idea in recognising the value of their exclusives.

AVGN will tell you that that never mattered to them in the first place
All that seal of quality meant was that they paid Nintendo to make the cartridge rather than using a 3rd party cartridge such as Tengen made.
I am not sure of the specifics but I think that is why they dropped the seal of quality
However the idea has some merit in trying to improve the eshop

It's unfortunately impossible to have the PC port (or any other future port of the game) 60fps due to the original game's source code being completely lost. Each new release of Symphonia is an iteration of the Japanese only PS2 version that needed to be 30fps due the PS2's weaker hardware, but that version contained more content. Unfortunately, the animations were somehow tied directly to the framerate, and the efforts that modders have attempted to get it to 60fps completely broke the game.

Nintendo is turning into Atari. What ever happened to Nintendo's seal of quality?

It's a business
You can't spend a decade making fun of them for being in last place, and then get mad when they agree with you and try a different strategy
If Xbox wanted people to buy them, they should’ve made better games like an actual game company lol

Until this "leak" is proven true or false, people will have recipients, and it will happen again regardless.
Nintendo is too busy sleuthing out games that had a trademarked smell from one of their first party brands to worry about little Eshop issues.

If Xbox has no exclusives and Sony does… I’d just buy a PlayStation and get everything xD.
@dimbulb6443 exactly 😂
I think xboxs strategy right now is to be friendly with PlayStation by letting them have all their games and in turn playstions may down the line allow gamepass on PlayStation.
I believe Xbox when they said everything is an Xbox lol. I sold my series x in February and have been using a series x with gamepass here and there. Great deal fr
