CLOSEST THING we’ve seen so far of the Switch 2!!! No blurry images, no silicone cases, but an actual, physical prototype model in your hands! This video is gonna be your biggest video yet! 🎉
If thats the Switch 2 I love it already due to the way the joycons connect and the USB C port being on top. The MAIN thing I really like though is I play with the joycons in my hands like you do and love playing that way as well. The fact that you say the bigger joycons are even more comfortable to hold in ur hands is what I'm excited for. Hell yeah. Nintendo show this next month for the world to see! 😃
I've been saying for months that the little button on the back was a lock release. So many people have said that it was just another button and I shook my head.
Man if the tops light sensor would be replaced by a camera that would open up so many more abilities! For example it could act as a real good light sensor. Also on the back there could be a mini mirror that slides up diagonally to the camera so that it can record your face. It can be used for online and for face tracking and without the mirror it could act as a buttonless motion controller like we saw with the infra red camera rock paper scissors game in 1-2-Switch. With the ai chip from nvidia it could also give you immersive AR capabilities as we saw with the 3DS with no modern AI technology (it was a decade ago). So yeah.
Two of the holes on the top seem evenly spaced away from the outer edge of the tablet. I believe they are meant for mounting attachments to the console, and the USB-C port on top would be the I/O for said attachments. That would explain why there are now four mounting points on the bottom. Two closest to the USB-C port are for the dock, and the outer and larger two are more mounting attachments in tandem with the top two. Here are some ideas off the top of my head: - Camera Attachment for AR/VR Games: A camera module could turn the Switch into an augmented reality device, enabling AR games similar to Pokémon Go - Stylus Dock: A specialized mount for a stylus or drawing pen on top, with a selection of interactive paint/drawing tools on the bottom that can be activated by touching the stylus to them. - Battery packs - Specialized streaming gear like front facing cameras and lights - Vehicle mounting - Keyboard and mouse mounts for educational apps or productivity software and possibly Interactive learning attachments, such as microscopes or experiment kits for STEM-focused games. - Modular Controller Enhancements like full-sized arcade fighting stick or racing wheel that the console can attach into and finally for those that read this far: R.O.B. 2.0
The top USB C could be just for charging. But also, could be used for peripherals. We know Nintendo loves its gimmicky gadgets. Imagine an AR Camera that plugs in... A "Motion+" type of accessory... USB C Hi-Fi headphones/earbuds. That could be a port that opens up a wide arrange of possibilities.
Something i'm noticing is the kickstand is different than the leaks. The leaks show a U shaped kickstand and its pretty prominent. Its likely that the dummy isnt meant to be 1/1 but still its interesting
This is amazing to see! 8" is definitely the sweetspot. Big enough to get a solid experience without being too big. Hopefully the battery and performance will be enough.
I never expect Nintendo to be a leader in hardware. I expect them to be a leader in quality games. And most of the time, I'm not disappointed. I am getting a bit sore with not having Metroid prime 2 and 3 ports/remastered already though.
The release button on the joycon doesn't stick out that much, it conforms better to the natural curve of the shell. Model from september's leaks was a recreation based on information the leaker had
C button may not be a new button, but the capture button relocated. The the new big button on back to big to be a lock/release button. Could be a extra button for when playing two player games with one set on joy cons.
With the joycons being larger, are the more comfortable than the smaller ones? Also, I think the C button will be for chat to go along with the microphone on the top left side of the console
It could just be for charging but the second port is also on the side that the steamdeck USB-C port is on so it could be so that its compatible with other pc handheld docks as well.
I know this is a print and not the actual system itself but are the magnets located inside of the buttons on the part of the joycon that is inaccessible when in the system? Essentially there was a leaker on my subreddit that said that is where the magnets are on the actual system.
I want it on launch but I think I’m going to wait a bit for hopefully an OLED model since it’s the primary way I play and I’m also going to wait for a new skull &co case I love the grips so much helps me from cramping
I know people are different and everybody has their own preferences, but for me the Switch Joycons are emergency controllers at best. After long playsessions my hands just start to hurt and I don't know if these new Joycons will fix that for me. I am really glad the PC Handheld space is doing great, because I may skip the Switch 2 if they don't get me with the games at launch.
You're right that everyone is different. The OG Joy-Con with the straps attached in split mode is the most comfortable way to play. It makes traditional controllers seem uncomfortable for me. Handheld isn't nearly as great, but it's good enough for me.
My speculation is that the back button is a joy-con release button, but that it might also double as an extra trigger button when holding the joy-con sideways. The way it’s shaped in relation to the top of the joy-con makes me think it might be used in this way.
you should look into joy-con grip shells. little plastic cases you can insert joy-cons into to give them a bump on the back/bottom like "pro" controllers, while still letting you attach them to a switch. you get the grip of a proper controller on a handheld switch that way.
Easiest thing to do with the Switch to improve comfort is replace the joycons with ones that have an actual dpad. My preference is for all-in-one so it was Nexigo with the Gripcon attachment that works better than regular joycons. Then Hori and HYXI have various joy con alternatives with a dpad and most tend to be thicker to help with comfort. I'm guessing something like that will exist for the Switch 2 at some point.
I’m asking myself the same question. However, if they didn’t get the device from Nintendo with an NDA they haven’t broken any law. Given this still is fully spectulations this still might be a fake so if Nintendo sues they’ll compromise themselves by basically admitting that everything is true.
My theory is that an embargo is lifted, and the console was meant to be revealed sooner. Unfortunately, Nintendo can't really do much if that's the case. These companies did hold up their end.
I believe it’s marketing. What better way to market something without actually having to do the marketing. Everyone is talking about it. Marketing successful.
@@Soulstealer000 Yeah, if the console was revealed in september or october then that puts us at the right time for the 3rd party companies to reveal their peripherals for the upcoming Ninendo console. Let's hope this doesn't mean the console wasn't pushed back from its original planned release
For me personally as someone who has games on consoles only, I've looked into a Steam Deck but what has turned me off is that certain games wouldn't run right, I've watched several videos where people have to download launchers and then go into graphics settings on games. To me I would hate to do that kind of stuff, where Nintendo kind of takes the cake with that is the simplicity of popping in a game card and enjoying the experience. I'll take a watered down triple A game if it means that I can play it on the go and I don't have to jump through hoops to get it running smoothly. And battery life, I've heard that steam deck gets about three hours running games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk if those two ports come to switch two, the games would be optimized to get the most out of them. Battery would be better I would assume, these are just my thoughts, I'm an idiot when it comes to anything PC so for me the switch two is the clear winner for simplicity, if AAA games even come to it.
I think the grips on the new rog x, is more thick and comfortable to hold i assume. Nintendo should make there joycons abit thicker, so there comfortable to hold better?
It's either going to be a capture button or a custom button that can be used for other functions in a game. Regardless is it going to be a secondary thought of a button just like a home or select button . Just like the joy-cons when you have the joycon separately which is the main function of the switch in the first place you can't capture footage and share it with the other controller unless you have the other one in your hand at all times.. then again the other can be said about the home button for the left side so it makes me think if it is a capture button why not just put a home button on the other side as well and make it a function button that could act as a home button when you have only one joy-con so the theory is possible but it's kind of weird if it is just to capture button that's why I say it could possibly be a multi-functional button.. that can be used with any game to do a certain function to act as an extra button when using separate joy-con
@@grimmick9446 just to be clear the physical cartridges can be put/fit in the game slot to play games on the switch two? Sorry I don’t really follow this soft of stuff well

I think they've been putting more work into the T239 after the "Pro" model was tossed out. 2017 - Switch launch hardware 2019 - Switch V2 and Lite 2021 - Switch OLED; "rumored Pro" 2024 - Switch 2

I bet the NDAs went out with the assumption they would announce in October. Then everyone started talking about it being announced and Nintendo decided against it but the NDAs were already expiring. Or maybe they were ready to present, but the new Mario needed more work because the game looked like the first movie version of Sonic, so they needed time to clean it up.
I wish Nintendo would go back and make a high performance console to compete with the others. They need to drop the gimmicks and make a powerful console. They had it right during the N64 era.
So.... Because thats a dummy model without guts those extra holes on top may just be screw holes that are there and blank for skin development. As for the top usb c, that is my biggest complaint with my switch oled is that the only charging port is on the bottom and not only am i always worried about borking either the cable or port when im playing it in my lap, but that cord totally borks the kickstand, or bends it in a way im uncomfortable with. I dont see a lot of plugin accessories for it, but i like that it has two now
Okay, rapid-fire. The C button I think is C for capture. It's almost in the same spot as the regular switch to take a photograph. And it may also be used for video. I think you're wrong Bill that the larger screen and larger body will also hold a larger battery. It won't be thicker like the Ally X, but it might be longer to help give it a better battery life.
But there's already a capture button on the left joycon. Why would they add a second one? I guess maybe if there are two separate players and you split the joycons. But otherwise it doesn't make sense why there would be a second capture button.
It would be really dumb to put the microphone right next to the exhaust. Nintendo isn’t known for giant fumbles like that. Fumbling the main idea of interaction?? Yeah that’s happened before… lookin at you Virtua-Boy… I’m thinking that small hole over by the cartridge port could be the mic if it has one.
I agree that the new triggers/buttons are probably for releasing the electromagnetic Joycons. In the past, before dual analog stick implementation was really a thing, Nintendo had the “c stick” or “c buttons” for camera control, but since there are dual analog sticks, I don’t know.🤷♂️ Some of the other comments regarding the top usb-c port got me thinking that maybe the new “c” button is related. Perhaps there are accessories (some sort of camera maybe) that connect via usb-c, and the new “c” button activates/controls it. I’m sure whatever it is, it’ll be something kinda funky, but in a cool way. After all, it is Nintendo. I also wouldn’t be completely shocked if Nintendo was just pulling a fast one on all the leakers and spectators out there, and it’s gonna be something totally different.
Okay maybe a stretch, buuuuut... We all know about RUclips leaking the name Switch Attach (which is likely a codename) But like- What if, yes, you could charge the console using that top port, but also relay video through it? Maybe whatever screen accessories or whatever may "attach" to it would have ports for the USB-C port and headphone jack, and maybe that second hole way to the left is more a spot for a peg on some accessories to go for stability? So that all that weight isn't solely put on the USB-C port and the headphone jack? (But maybe also to keep it from turning to the side) I'unno Dumb idea that came to mind when watching about ten minutes in
Thanks Bill! I appreciate you making it. What you showed here just had slight improvements and changes which is very Nintendo so I think it has to be legitimate.
honestly, it's on Nintendo for taking wayyyyyy too long to reveal this thing. They should expect it to get leaked, especially when it's something everyone wants and the Switch having the longest life span for a Nintendo console ever.
I'm really worried that this is a Wii U situation. I've also said this for a VERY long time now. It's just too damn similar to the original. The average consumer and the non-average consumer might just see this and think it's a regular Switch. Despite the fact that I think it's maybe a fun idea, I also think it's a bad idea, but I have this weird feeling that they will call this the "NEW" Nintendo Switch. Much like they branded the "NEW 3DS. If this is the final design, then they will have to have a "Switch" moniker of some extent. This is the same as they did with the Wii and Wii U. It creates confusion because they're too damn similar. One would have thought they would have learned from their mistakes!!
I’ll wait till Nintendo confirms the switch 2, this is just speculation. I also doubt they woundnt make the screen damn near bezzleless like they did on the oled at this point.

Didn’t realize how much bigger the Switch 2 was than the original.
I've been saying for months that the little button on the back was a lock release. So many people have said that it was just another button and I shook my head.
one of those holes on top is for the sync button, for syncing your switch controllers to the console.
Here are some ideas off the top of my head:
- Camera Attachment for AR/VR Games: A camera module could turn the Switch into an augmented reality device, enabling AR games similar to Pokémon Go
- Stylus Dock: A specialized mount for a stylus or drawing pen on top, with a selection of interactive paint/drawing tools on the bottom that can be activated by touching the stylus to them.
- Battery packs
- Specialized streaming gear like front facing cameras and lights
- Vehicle mounting
- Keyboard and mouse mounts for educational apps or productivity software and possibly Interactive learning attachments, such as microscopes or experiment kits for STEM-focused games.
- Modular Controller Enhancements like full-sized arcade fighting stick or racing wheel that the console can attach into
and finally for those that read this far:
A social application of some sort with an attachable camera seems pretty likely to me.
Something i'm noticing is the kickstand is different than the leaks. The leaks show a U shaped kickstand and its pretty prominent. Its likely that the dummy isnt meant to be 1/1 but still its interesting
A neat idea for the extra usb c port would be to make it into a Nintendo DS(S) Dual Screen Switch.
This is amazing to see! 8" is definitely the sweetspot. Big enough to get a solid experience without being too big. Hopefully the battery and performance will be enough.
I think top USBC port is so you can charge while its on the stand :)
Digital triggers in 2025 is crazy to me. Not a deal breaker but kind of close
@@notafantbh Hoping they'll be pressure sensitive like the PS2/3's face buttons, but that's a pipe dream
Especially if third-party racing games are to be potted.
I didn’t have this on my Switch 2 bingo card. Holy cow
Il believe it when Nintendo announces it themselve
This brings me back to the good old days of Switchcraft! It was always exciting to hear your take on Nintendo news and speculation Bill.
The one on the right side is the headphone jack, based on a 3D scan of the system that was leaked a few days ago. Looks blue in the images
The top charger is likely just to charge when using the kickstand, nothing complicated.
Nintendo lawyers are on their way probably lol
My speculation is that the back button is a joy-con release button, but that it might also double as an extra trigger button when holding the joy-con sideways. The way it’s shaped in relation to the top of the joy-con makes me think it might be used in this way.
I wish they could put out a switch 2 lite on day one. It’s my favorite version of the current switch.
They almost certainly will, but only after switch 2 sales slow down. Gotta milk as much of the audience first before they offer a budget option
I think they are going to sell the dock separately and that’s why there’s 2usbc, the bottom one is probably 4k60 and the top one is charge only
you should look into joy-con grip shells.
little plastic cases you can insert joy-cons into to give them a bump on the back/bottom like "pro" controllers, while still letting you attach them to a switch.
you get the grip of a proper controller on a handheld switch that way.
Aren’t those companies afraid of being sued by Nintendo?
I’m asking myself the same question. However, if they didn’t get the device from Nintendo with an NDA they haven’t broken any law. Given this still is fully spectulations this still might be a fake so if Nintendo sues they’ll compromise themselves by basically admitting that everything is true.
My theory is that an embargo is lifted, and the console was meant to be revealed sooner. Unfortunately, Nintendo can't really do much if that's the case. These companies did hold up their end.
Nintendo always let Nintendo leak information.
I honestly I think the “C” is to “center” Gyro….kinda the one thing that would really improve on the Gyro.
@@BeatsAndGuitars that seems like a really inconvenient spot for a recenter button
They should give us a light bar instead like Wii! But ya, good speculation
Top usb-c charge while in kickstand mode?
Does the og Nintendo switch cartridges fit in this new model one????
Lets hope! Nintendo does backcombat for 1 previous gen console more often than not
Nintendo confirmed Backwards compatibility on Twitter.
@@YogiTheBearManyes! They've already confirmed on Twitter of all places lol. Nintendo Japan official
^ :)
@@grimmick9446 just to be clear the physical cartridges can be put/fit in the game slot to play games on the switch two? Sorry I don’t really follow this soft of stuff well
With products like the Steam Deck and Ally X, Im not really interested in Switch 2. I might get it for the first party titles, but for anything crossplatform, Im gonna be playing them on something else.
@@chriskim5535 yeah, the market is much different than it was when the switch released. It’s normal than proper handhelds that cost 3x as much than what a switch 2 will be better. However Nintendo has the experiences they sell. Mario Kart 9 as a launch title is going to attract many players.
@Sumire9287 Well I got my 256gb LCD Steamdeck for US$250. If they expect to charge $400~, they gotta do something more than just a bigger screen. They have to show me "their own thing" is worth the money for me to buy anything other than first party titles.
Id never buy nintendo systems if it was off system. So many great games I want to play, but they are just stuck on the switch...
Ever since the steam deck came out if a game comes out on switch and deck I get it on deck.
so many people comment things like this and i have to wonder, why? specifically, who asked? like why do you think anyone cares? cool that that's your preference and all but... no one really asked? you arent the target customer demographic wow
So for all we know this could potentially be nothing like the switch successor at all
Thank god someone else made one of these because the other guy forgot to have light in his video. So damn dark I couldn't see anything.
I wonder if the C button is for a social system. Nintendo Central or something like that.
Edit: Oh god, I just realized it might be for "Click" if they name the system Nintendo Click because of how the joy-con magnets click into place...
Top usb-c port will be for charging as well as video out to a tv or monitor for dual screen gaming similar to the wii U. Thats my guess.
If this is real Nintendo are really playing it safe.
This has to be the switch pro from years ago, just super delayed. Half step of a generation.
What's the point then
They don’t want another Wii U, I’m thinking.
@@mattcy6591Basically yes the hardware in it is from 2020. Nvidia Ampere architecture.
@@ZackSNetwork not so sure Ampere was in development for the rumored Switch Pro. Since it was never announced by Nintendo, it didn't exist, but the rumors speculated a custom Nvidia chip. I think Ampere was always on the roadmap for the successor upgrade, but would've been out this year rather than next if we kept the old hardware cycle. I think they've been putting more work into the T239 after the "Pro" model was tossed out.
2017 - Switch launch hardware
2019 - Switch V2 and Lite
2021 - Switch OLED; "rumored Pro"
2024 - Switch 2
Hands on with Super Switch Model - Let's talk about this...thing
*Fixed that for you
C button for Streamers as well as the second USB C- Capture Cards and more input for higher quality attachments. I have a power pack from I believe one of their 3rd party license manufacturers that gives me longer play time. I can see them doing something similar for the battery and heat issue for those that want to play more adult *and thus heavier graphic intensive games.
Thanks for the content❤
I must admit, if this really is switch 2, im not that impressed, Surely Nintendo is hiding something!?
I bet the NDAs went out with the assumption they would announce in October. Then everyone started talking about it being announced and Nintendo decided against it but the NDAs were already expiring.
Or maybe they were ready to present, but the new Mario needed more work because the game looked like the first movie version of Sonic, so they needed time to clean it up.
I wish Nintendo would go back and make a high performance console to compete with the others. They need to drop the gimmicks and make a powerful console. They had it right during the N64 era.
I'm hoping i can use my gamesir g8 plus with the switch 2 until other 3rd party controllers are available
Switch 2 is like a jumbo size 😂
Switch XL.
I dont see a lot of plugin accessories for it, but i like that it has two now
The fan output is on the bottom on both consoles. Its those big holes, the original Switch had it too
arent those just speakers
Wonder how much better switch 2 will run switch games been enjoying DQM3 since the the week after thanksgiving.
C buttons were on n64 controller, I’m guessing it’s a modifier button ie. hold C and press d pad for secondary controls. But idk.
@@michaelmcclintick9541 C could maybe stand for „Chat“. Also looks like it has mic on top
Watch out, the ninjas are behind you!
I really hope they make a lite version
btw usb c for headphones was a genius observation and I think you might be right
These joycons are too large for the hands of children.
It would be really dumb to put the microphone right next to the exhaust. Nintendo isn’t known for giant fumbles like that. Fumbling the main idea of interaction?? Yeah that’s happened before… lookin at you Virtua-Boy…
I’m thinking that small hole over by the cartridge port could be the mic if it has one.
I can’t lie, I kinda wish they would’ve called it the Switch XL
Your forgetting the power of DSSL and framegen, both of which it willhave
I hope the Juycons are more ergonomic on release
We all know about RUclips leaking the name Switch Attach (which is likely a codename)
But like-
What if, yes, you could charge the console using that top port, but also relay video through it?
Maybe whatever screen accessories or whatever may "attach" to it would have ports for the USB-C port and headphone jack, and maybe that second hole way to the left is more a spot for a peg on some accessories to go for stability? So that all that weight isn't solely put on the USB-C port and the headphone jack? (But maybe also to keep it from turning to the side)
I'unno
Dumb idea that came to mind when watching about ten minutes in
Thanks Bill!
Nintendo said Switch would be their platform for a full decade. Decade isn't up yet.
Well that's the last time that company is ever getting anything from Nintendo
Im just hoping it can run some 3rd party games well. I’d murder to see the re4 remake on it running smoothly or Elden ring (it’s a pipe dream)
This reminds me of Etika, he had a very realistic switch mockup model too before the console was out
RIP 🙏
I hope that the screen is a placeholder, and that those bezels are not accurate to the original. I want them to be smaller.
So…about those bezels…
You missed one of the most interesting features the dynamic joystick stiffness that they recently patented.
Looks more like a Nintendo switch pro then a actual successor or a number 2
the ergonomics of the switch in handheld mode is some of the worst in the history of gaming
I wonder if performance will be better
I’ll wait till Nintendo confirms the switch 2, this is just speculation. I also doubt they woundnt make the screen damn near bezzleless like they did on the oled at this point.
