I agree with the quality but I don't think the price fits the truck. If it can outperform a TRX4 then maybe I would spend the cash but all the weight is in the middle of the truck and that will cause it to roll over easy. I fell it is a lack in design until I see how it really performs.
@@twain772 For that price not only does it need to out perform the TRX4 , but also be as reliable. My buddy has a TRX4 land rover and other that the steering servo it has been very reliable (slightly more than my Redcat Gen8 which only had top portal gear issues now replaced with hardened steel ones). We beat on these truck on a desert 2 mile loop once a week with 800-900 feet of elevation climb over rough rocks (not a smooth walking path). If this truck could make the same loop 10 times without breakage and only a servo upgrade then I would consider it comparable and a reasonable buy. I'd like to get one, but I have already set aside all my "toy" money for a Redcat Wendigo. Too many cool trucks and not enough time or money. It is golden era of RC right now.
I see a lot of comparisons to the TRX4... I’d suggest those comparing go and look at the Boom Racing BRX01, that’s the comparison. It’s about $650 just for the kit. This is no BRX01, but for $500 RTR it’s right on the money.
Happy to see some vendor picking up with the lockable differentials and two speed transmission. It's a terrific combo, I love my TRX-4 for that. When on the trail I'm constantly locking and unlocking based on the terrain. And with the two speed you can be as slow as a snail but also silly fast when you want to just take it not seriously. I like the look of the body in this one, screams for an interior and some lights, would look sick. Definitely a keeper.
One thing that immediately struck me is that the sliders look more like grabbers with those ribs. The small ribs on the skid look like they will also be a problem until they wear away. The diff locks and two speed don't use any special servo savers, perhaps the radio has end point adjustment. Take note Traxxas. I wish that the video had gone into a little more detail. What is the motor? 540 or 550? Turns? What's the reduction in the portals? What size is the stock pinion and spur? Maybe the next video will answer some of these. Overall a good effort and the rig looks like it would be quite usable with a few mods.
Also had arrived in many European shops the last week, customers seem to be very satisfied so far, is sold as Amewi AMXRock RX10B and RX10P here, in two versions with and without locking diffs (and some more small differences).
So, for all of you guys saying " I can get a trx4 for $500) good for you, go get one. It isn't any better quality, and I personally wouldn't drive a Traxxas. So it's nice he is showing us an alternative.

With traxxas in the USA traxxas dont even ask questions when you say something broke they just 3 day ship you the part for free. Take 2 seconds on the phone or a quick email.
Don’t get the portal hubs. You lift the truck you also lift the weight. If you want clearance use bigger tire need more bumper clearance use bigger tires or shorten the bumper. What do you guys think?
