I haven't been to Saigon since March 2020 (pandemic) and I can see they have definitely increased their number of cafés. Imagine, before 2020 there were already many fabulous cafés. Love Saigon ❤❤❤

hi there, vietnam has the best coffee, seriously. i didnt know they are the second largest exporters.i travelled a lot in hanoi teaching before the pandemic in 18' i was so in awe fo the tet and my home stay there where i was the only white for miles around. i really loved watch music on tv, and holiday programs. i have a friend that work in one of the gov funded stations. hey Alex, i'd love to know more about venues in HCM that attracted local bands, or international concerts even if that happens ever. thanks!

No matter how beautiful and luxury a café look, we just have one single seat, one spot, and most of the time we glue our eyes onto laptop, mobile phone etc. My criteria of a good café is: 1) Affordable price (25,000 to 30,000VND) 2) Cool and green and 3) Not too crowded and noisy. There are plenty of them in Saigon, not in the central.

Looks great!!, Been in China for 5 years now as a musician and music teacher. But planning to visit Vietnam for the first. Thanks for the content, keep up the hard work. Would be great to meet up, if we are in the same area. Sure we got some great stories to share.

Hi Alex. I'd really appreciate it if you could answer this question: As a South African wanting to teach English abroad, which Asian countries have the most relaxed/lenient visa laws? In other words, which countries make it easiest for me to come teach there?
    Thanks in advance dude.

If you have a bachelor's degree, then you can technically teach in pretty much any country in Asia.

Hi Alex... as we Indians are non native speakers, can we still opt for ur Vietnam TEFL course?! I really wanna know because i visited ur website and found that under the requirements section 2nd point is : currently we are providing course for native speakers... etc. So iam really confused.

I will be completely honest with you, because I have not seen a response to your question as yet. Yes, you could possibly find the TEFL course useful, but it may be difficult if you have a heavy accent. What is not really spoken of openly, is that grammar is not necessarily the most important part in teaching in a TEFL environment. It is accent and cadence. So if you speak English very well with a UK, US or neutral accent you could find work easily. However, because you are non-native you may still have some difficulty. I hope this helps

Just a heads up. These videos make Saigon look decent. The reality is there is a lot of junk in between these cafes. The people arent very warm to you either. Eye contact scares them.
Pick,a different city in Vietnam to live

I'm in Saigon right now and I have had a completely opposite experience to you. I find the locals friendly and kind especially when you try using Vietnamese with them. Vietnamese people are busy and hardworking but also very friendly when you chat with them. I have had only positive experiences with Vietnamese people in Saigon.
