Perfect guide, I almost beat him on my first try, I was literally one shot short. Beat him on the second attempt and then managed to get to third boss's on the same run.

Lol right as I turned the corner and saw that dude hanging by all that stuff I knew it was a boss so
I immediately paused the game and searched for a run through. Your vid helped me a lot and managed to get him first try… barely

Been stuck on ixion for way many runs.
Its the 3rd phase thats hard that melee has very fast telegraphing.

I agree, the 3 melee plus waves it’s often too much to dodge... Try to focus on keeping defensive parasites and spend your Obolites on health upgrades, that will allow you to fight Ixion with a bigger health bar backing you up, so you can pretty much just tank that madness at the end
Yea I'm the same. I can cruise easily through the first two phases, but the third phase that gets me

I had the funniest experience with this one, I was doing well with the tentpole gun that was doing damage-over-time until like a dumbass I accidentally jumped off the platform in the final phase - but since the stakes were still doing damage, I saw the achievement pop up as I was falling to my near death :D
I wish I can experience this game for the first time over and over and over like seline.

I beat him on the second go - found him a lot easier than the first boss. The first boss took so many attempts.
This is honestly the hardest boss in the game. I died about as many times against Ixion as all the other bosses combined.

For anyone who is initially scared of this boss, like I was lol, don't be. It will probably not take you multiple tries to beat him IF YOU PREPARE WELL. I was surprised but I was able to beat this guy on my first attempt taking minimal damage because I prepared well. I think I only took 5 hits. I watched this video multiple times until I had his phase patterns memorized. Nothing he did in the fight surprised me including the third phase. To be honest, I had a harder time with some of the other enemy types from this Biome like the stupid Severed. Those things took a huge portion of health each time. I THINK YOU SHOULD DO A VIDEO DISCUSSING THE ATTACK PATTERNS FOR EACH ENEMY TYPE IN EACH BIOME. That would help me a lot. Maybe not an individual video for every single enemy type like the bosses but do a video on each Biome elaborating on all the different enemies featured in that Biome. Its an idea but I think it would awesome.

Try and be patient! The more you play the better you get and the stronger Selene will be. Also, whenever you start running a little low on health just go back a room a head to Helios. When you rest in bed you restore some health!
@@ItHadToBeDan So I finally got to him but died. Then i noticed a portal to the summit on my next run. maybe im just lucky or hoping its permanent cuz its gonna take me a few tries to beat this guy

You can just dash THROUGH the blue wave, usually easier than jumping over it, especially in the second phase when he's strafing the platform.

this boss annoys me so much because i would always get him down to the last 1/4 of a health bar, and that melee combo + red projectiles wave would always be my downfall. I thought I had a good pattern, jump dashing forward over one wall, and jump dashing backward over the next. but you simplified it again, so i shouldn't take as many accidental hits in future. tracking Ixion when it flies off into the horizon looks like its going to be the harder part as i just like to know where my enemy is. thanks for these vids so far.
Thank you so much! I strongly recommend you wear headphones for this fight specifically because of that, you are able to hear that lovely screech and know where it will come from
i don't know if it's luck but I dispatched this boss for the first run with just 1 or 2 or maybe 3 hits, i really thought it's just a miniboss. i struggle more on phrike though

I guess with different play styles, some bosses will be much easier than for others.
I got lucky on this boss and killed him first time took me about 5 goes on the first boss haha, biome 3 is difficult to say the least haha
Sometimes it just works doesn’t it? And then it doesn’t! 3rd biome crushed my dreams
