Love finesse fishing and LOVE MATT! Fantastic video & perfect timing. Great info. In my opinion, Matt actually is the best at explaining the what where when and why of all of the MTB “presenters”. He even tells us the knot to use, I mean come on who else is that frickin good.
There’s a rig called the Ned shot that replaces the dropshot weight with a ned rig. 2 hooks, perfectly legal, combines both techniques, targeting both the bottom and the suspending fish. Only issue might be the snaggy nature of the bed rig hook when fishign structure, but otherwise, a great option!
That Alberto knot (braid to leader) is the shit!!! (GOOD!) Also known as the RP knot or Royal Polaris knot. I use it Tuna fishing out of San Diego and Steelhead and Salmon fishing in the NW. That's my #1 knot for braid to mono. You do a great job with your video. Nice work. G
I really enjoyed watching you use both the Ned rig and the Drop shot! I learned a lot just from watching just how to fish both!!! Thanks, Jerry Surratt
The VMC spinshot hook makes drop shot rigging fool proof. No worrying about the hook position and it's easy to adjust the tag end for the weight with respect to length. Just wish they came in red.
Oh my... What a channel!! 😁 First video on it and I think I am going to like a lot. Many amazing and important details that others channels dont tell. I love this. Thank you.
Hey Matt, thank you for the explanation and difference of the two baits! MOST informative and good points to know. Appreciate the insight. God Bless Buddy!
@@John-nd7il the only things I know of nearby where we live are trout from creeks, and marron which are like a fresh water lobster. Saltwater fishing from rocks is what is big around here.
Friggin’ awesome video! Matt explains that Barney style! He keeps this type of vid just as interesting as his own fishing vids! Absolutely friggin’ awesome! Thanks for the tips & tricks for sure! And great job Matt!
Brett Barr I have never once had a problem with their jigheads but that's just me. The finesse shroom is perfect for the trd in my opinion and the power and mag shroomz are money for me as well with my bigger plastics
I do that, works well. You wouldn’t do it if you’re fishing somewhere where you’re at risk of losing your sinker, like rocks and heavy, heavy weeds. At that point it’s better to tie a knot that’ll slip on your sinker so you can pull your rig free and keep your lure. Also I’m in Australia. 3 hooks per line law; no problem. American might have 1 hook per rod laws.
Very in-lighting video just wondering about something. I live and fish in East Texas and theres lots of structure on the bottom have you ever tried to fish weedless with the drop shot?
I'm in the same situation, I usually fish small ponds that vary from 5 to 12 feet. The main one I hit up is 6' max and it doesn't have much on the bottom for em to hang to expect maybe a stick or two but I haven't had any luck with dropshot or ned rig in the few ponds I've tried em in
One of the ponds I fish is a friend of the family but the other ones I actually asked the owner if I could fish the pond and I let em know that I'll pick up my trash and that I catch and release. Several ppl did say no but 5 or 6 actually let me fish. I do understand why most ppl don't let ppl fish on their property bc ppl have probably left empty bait packs, several feet of line, and other trash or even worse is the ppl who want to sue bc they stepped in a hole that they probably saw and figured they could get some money. I'm not gonna sue even if I do get hurt
But, but, i have 4 lb. line on my ml rod set up for blue gill, crappie, and perch. What do i do? I think i need to get another ml rod. Great tips, thank you.
Since when did you need to do a semester of college to rig up a pole for fishing? I run 15# powerpro braided with no leader and catch bass all the time.
Do you have a timestamp for when he does it? He only used a ned rig for the last 4 minutes or so of the vid and I didnt hear him call it a dropshot once.
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A JIG AND A TEXAS RIG IS THE SKIRT. SO INSTEAD OF BUYING EXPENSSIVE JIGS, WHY NOT JUST BY AN ASORTMENT PACK OF JIG SKIRTS???
I had got the larger exo swim from my MTB and I hadn’t used it yet. I thought I would just use it as a swim bait or something. However I am pretty new to bass fishing I’ve always been a cat fisherman.
If you can only pick one finesse technique to use for the rest of your life, what will it be? I've gotta stick with the dropshot
Mystery Tackle Box wacky rig
Wacky rig
Free falling nightcrawler on a size 6 hook
I like them all
It would have to be the Ned rig for me.
The tag end through the eye of the hook trick just totally blew my mind. I always wondered why my drop shots weren't at the right angle!
Game changer for sure. More consistency.
ever thought of tying the hook on the opposite way from the start?
Love finesse fishing and LOVE MATT!

Matts the man. Doing bait reviews and how too videos, check it out on FLC.
Hey! What about the other kvd?!?
Ned is the only thing that has consistently caught me numbers anywhere this year
Have always used swivels and never successfully tied braid and mono together till I watched your Pablo knot. Works great and nice and sleek

I have to get better at both of these techniques. This inspires me to try. Thanks much.
ive been wondering how to fish these two types. thank you for the great tutorial bro you earned a sub
Really appreciate you showing how to rig and tie on and details on the presentation. That helps a lot.
I'm new to both techniques, thanks alot!!! Be safe out there!!

Great vid !!! Just started fishing Ned rig this year, loving it so far!
Should I start useing one?
Great to have you back. Great you tuber. Nice video.
This was a very well done video. You got to the points and keep it entertaining. Very good information.
An we get Matt to do more videos on this channel. He is really informative.
He'll be back for many more videos in the future!
👍
I hope some of those baits are in this month's MTB because mine just shipped
Hey Matt, thank you for the explanation and difference of the two baits! MOST informative and good points to know. Appreciate the insight. God Bless Buddy!
Weightless senko wacky rig if that was the only bait I could use for the rest of my life!
SB fan for life. I would love to hang out and fish someday.
I love that Alberto!!!!
Watching from Australia. No bass here, but I like learning new techniques.
Joey Taylor what type of fresh water fish do you have?

SBFISHINGTV in the house!
I found that the ned rig works best for me since I fish a lot of ponds. Occasionally I'll get some weeds if I drop it right in them unintentionally.
Cool little boat!!!
Z Man are the only Ned rigs I'll throw 😤
Max Schaffer Z man trd baits are money the ned heads are absolutely garbage

@@walkingbucket4796 I've had the head literally come off of Ned but baits are 💣💣💣
I think the heads are as crap as the hardhat ones that MTB and Googans sell ,way to much for so little
I got 5 different colors last week and the first bag I opened caught at least 8. A single Z Man plastic bait. Great bait.
Super let me
Know wich paint you used on bait ? If got link to buy thanks
You guys should make a finesse mtb
Why not use a ned rig underneath your drop shop bait? instead of a weight?

Rawnfella that’s a genius idea, tying a knot on the weight. I never thunk of that.
Nine Inch Rails some knots slip easier than others.
Thank you for the instructional video! Much appreciated.

Very in-lighting video just wondering about something. I live and fish in East Texas and theres lots of structure on the bottom have you ever tried to fish weedless with the drop shot?
Now I have an idea about that unused french tickler in the nightstand....after all its kinda already a fishing lure.
5:40 you said dropshot twice
same time different camera
This confuses me. I dont hear him say it twice at 5:40.
@@cornlips7247 he describes the Ned as dropshot at 5:40, fishing it on the bottom with a jighead, then at 5:50, he describes the real dropshot.
Love the boxes and i love the vids
I'm really new to fishing. Just wondering what the purpose behind using a different type and test of line for your leader is?
Great video guys!❤💯👌
great video dude. where did you buy the hat ?
great video, very helpful.
Nice video bud. What was that yellow spray?
Ever tried tying both on at the same time?
I wanna catch fish like that in August BUT I can only fish off the bank
where it is shallow in most places i go
I'm in the same situation, I usually fish small ponds that vary from 5 to 12 feet. The main one I hit up is 6' max and it doesn't have much on the bottom for em to hang to expect maybe a stick or two but I haven't had any luck with dropshot or ned rig in the few ponds I've tried em in
Geoffrey Rogers I cant find small ponds in Lexington NC because ponds are on people properties

But, but, i have 4 lb. line on my ml rod set up for blue gill, crappie, and perch. What do i do? I think i need to get another ml rod. Great tips, thank you.
I’ve also got a video on my channel about some other tips you could try with drop shotting. Also do seven wraps on the Alberto not five.
Good stuff man 👍
Great info and tips!
Just getting into finesse fishing. I noticed many people rig with bright colored braid. Is that a must or can I use any color?
Hiya what was the spray you used for the lure ?? Thanks in advance
What’s your rod and reel combo?
What spray was that he used on the drop shot bait?
Crazy as it is never tryed either
How come you don't mount the trolling motor off the front ?
Are you fizzing those deep fish?
Wow! Tough decision. I’m gonna say drop shot! Ive got a lot of bass lately on it.
What is it that you used to spray the tip of the bait?
Can use dropshot techniques at saltwater?
What size is the boat you are on length and width if you don't mind me asking?
Occoquan huh?
They always smack the sukoshi bug for me!!!!
Where did you fish in Rhode Island?
What's the spray substance that was applied?
At 5:40 you confused me. Which one puts the lure directly on the bottom?
David Green Ned Rig. The plastic bait on the drop shot is suspended 6”-18” off the bottom.
Hey what kind of bass attractant did matt use? To spray the tail
Pretty sure it's spike it dip n glo spray. But you should try JJ's Magic !
Nice
Love the Ned rig but don’t like the fact that most off the time they get it deep before you detect the bit especially in deep water .
hey guys what did you spray it with?
Since when did you need to do a semester of college to rig up a pole for fishing? I run 15# powerpro braided with no leader and catch bass all the time.
8:55 what are you spraying on it?
I seem to do better vertical fishing the dropshot.
Wait for the drop shot, how did you put the bait on the hook? I don’t think you ever showed that...
Vic Su Best to bring the hook up through the “nose” of the bait.
Muskietime Thanks!
Mistake at 5:43 mark
Cuando las cajas misteriosas para Colombia ?
Don't u guys use landing nets in the us?
Can you tell me your rod and reel please?
5:42 he said drop shot instead of ned rig
I noticed that to. But he’s also saying “Ned rig” & “drop shot” so much that it’d be impressive if he didn’t get em mixed up once or twice. Lol
He also said “to go along with that drop shot” when showing Ned rig baits at 1:30
What was the weight on the drop shot?
Where is your hat from?
What is the size of your boat?
Is that a steez ags rod ?
That bait stores lures are ridiculous.
I’ve only been a bass for a couple months and I know they’re gourmet
Wen is my mystery tackle box going to be here
When he called the ned rig a drop shot like 20million times lol
Do you have a timestamp for when he does it? He only used a ned rig for the last 4 minutes or so of the vid and I didnt hear him call it a dropshot once.
@@cornlips7247 start listening at 5:40.
I wasn’t to try fishing seen your video and do not have a clue what your saying I have no boat too
Nice video. Drop shot is my choice, but please don't make me choose one finesse technique for the rest of my life. lol
Is that a 1448 jon boat?
Am i the only one who combines them and uses the ned rig as my weight on the drop shot
Ever catch two fish at once like that?
@@MysteryTackleBox a lot😂 but i never get 2 bass at once its always like a bass and a crappie or 2 perch something like that never 2 bass
Literally just got back from a weekend at a lake with tons of smallies and couldn't decide between the dropshot or ned 🤦🏼♂️. Guess I know now 😂
We've all been there before 😂
Nice but kind of slow for me but anyway 👍💯
only baits i use🤫
I have got at-lest 10 of each mtb
Is that a flat bottom
Ah sleeping on the rattlin ned and the drag n drop

Try it on a 1/16-1/4 ounce jig head, slow steady retreive
