All the commenters saying the road looks worse have obviously never lived or driven in Minnesota during the winter. Looks can be deceiving people. That road was infinitely safer with salt spread and shoulders/break down lanes open and available. Minnesota road crews are top notch! Give it 20 mins and that road will look as if it hasn't seen a single snowflake. And all that while keeping traffic moving.

Minnesota snowplow drivers are insanely skilled. They can do this in a total whiteout. First plow touches the guardrail with the edge of its plow, the second touches the end of the first plow with it's plow and so on. We tried to automate this in the early 2000s. No machine could perform better then humans. Respect!

Stay blessed

The issue is you guys don't get much weather like this. Same thing in Oklahoma. I talked to a plow driver yesterday and they were all tired and overworked. They never drop salt only sand so when they try to plow if they do happen to get all of the snow off of the road it just leaves a sheet of ice behind. Hard to do your job when you don't have the basic necessities lol. They were doing more harm then good and not even getting a break for rest.

Depends what you consider a hero. They are just doing their job. Take home a paycheck. If they didn't want to do it, someone else will. They know what they are getting into. The word hero is thrown around to lightly nowadays. You will never know a true hero, A hero does selfless acts of kindness because it's good, not for the glory. A thank you is a form of payment, it makes you feel good. That's selfish not selfless.

It’s scary how close ppl follow in snow on the highway. In ideal conditions, it’s still recommended to give 3 car lengths at highway speeds, but these ppl are 1 car away in snowing conditions. I know they’re probably seasoned drivers in snow but all it takes is one person to mess up or spin out and you got a pileup situation.

You guys have never plowed and have no idea how it works and little common sense, but plenty of uneducated, stupid comments lol… look at the other side of the highway which they’ve already done. Those trucks are removing the snow fell the inside lane off the barrier wall (which will turn to ice if cold enough and turn into a ramp basically). Think damage/crashes/death. They’re also putting down salt/brine which takes time activate and melt the snow) in less than 1 hour that road will look great. I’ve done this for years, it’s stressful, dangerous and tiring. The cars so close behind them makes it worse, and the people who have no common sense or understanding of how this works complaining with rude, uneducated comments make the job even more thankless.
