He makes it look easy, but it does take some nerves. I too plow snow, about 2 miles on single lane roads on a hillside, not as steep as this, but close and if I got the wheels off of the pavement, well I wouldn't be here talking about it.
I started watching your videos last year and they are great! It’s so relaxing to lie on the sofa after getting home from get off work and watch the beautiful snow scenery and the healing process of shoveling snow! ! But could the snow shoveling video be longer? 😆😆Thank you
Driving past Mount Shasta a few years ago, I wondered about the road reflectors that were 8 and 10 foot tall. I then realized it was August and they get a LOT of snow come winter.
The correct equipment is the key. I live in Switzerland and in the Alps, it looks just like in this video. With good Snow tires, it‘s no problem to drive on such roads. As long as there is dry snow, you have good grip. Wet, slushy snow is really slippery, you have to drive accordingly. Also, ice can be dangerous. But then there are still snow chains and spiked tires.
You definitely need a 4wd. I was stupid enough to try to drive such a road in winter with my rwd BMW to reach the starting point of a hiking trail. I learned something that day😬
I'm not sure if you still liked the job, when getting a phone call in the middle of the night and you have to get out of your warm bed to immediately clear the roads at minus 10° C because of heavy snow falls.
The first time I went to the Rocky Mountain National Park I saw the snow markers and I was amazed at how tall the were. I have been on roads in Colorado that remind me of these. Of course the mountains aren’t quite as high but close. One time my son who was probably 10 at the time said while we were driving in the mountains “we are above the clouds” and we were! 😄
You need to come to Japan, then you will know what seriously deep snow is. Some parts here get 10+metres of snow fall per winter with snow walls 3-5 metres high, completely burying houses. The entrances are on the second floor as the first floor is totally buried in snow.
Excellent driving skills! They should really give you some more guideposts out there. I supposed you don't need them. The people that live up there are counting on you! What a fun job. Great video!!
I can’t imagine how you get past a vehicle coming toward you on roads like this. Even without snow the road is not wide enough….i don’t know what kind of vehicle is being used but something like that would be my go to if I lived there…seems it’s very confidence inspiring and it seems impossible to get it stuck.

Fascinating but I am not sure from this angle where the snow is going? It doesn't appear to be tumbling off to the left down the mountainside. What am I missing?
Whoa! That is amazing! I'm on the southwestern tip of Nova Scotia and our snowfalls are usually mild although the northeastern part of the province just got hit hard. Watching this gave me the heebejebeees for sure! So beautiful though. Don't folks that live at that height worry about avalanches?

Houses are so close to the road. In BC, Canada, they use massive snow blowers and the graders which push snow go so fast that the snow flies so hard into the ditch that it often takes out traffic signage. The Coquihalla Pass is a very active highway with heavy equipment required to clear it daily in winter.

I'm a little surprised you aren't using a snowblower but, then again, the wind rows make good bumpers to keep the cars on the road. Nice equipment!

The snow is falling down the slope.
The road is only 3 meters wide in some places.
An occasional rear-view cam would be interesting.
Hi, is there any chance to work as a tractor driver shoveling snow during the winter season?
This driverknows the road very well, you can hardly see were the road is and there is not much room for any error !

The avalanches are often small and usually only occur where there are no houses.
@@mr.snowplow3855 Good!
How do you make more room for snow on the shoulders of the road?
I push it further and further out with the plow.
We very rarely have so much snow so it's not a problem.
2:00 would be freakin AWESOME to walk down that part!
post-storm or a normal winter plow. incredable TY
Very cool. I’m curious, what type of occupation the people from the Alps hold.. ?

Isolation? There's literally millions of tourists in that area.
I'd like to see a screen in screen video with the smaller one showing the difference behind you as you go. Just a suggestion.
How much weight is that plow and how much horse power does it have?
The plow and tractor together weigh 9 tons and 240 hp.

you don't have those snow sticks that shows where the road is, in Austria?`

It’s between two Austrian flags.
