I learned a lot of winter skills driving in the inclement weather but the best was staying as alert as possible and aware of your surroundings and how your truck reacts. I did all this without anti lock brakes where you didn’t apply your foot brake until you applied your trailer brakes first all in a short nose White 9000
I've driven in quite a few blizzards, freezing rain, on Rhodes packed with a foot of snow that stayed there all winter etc and it is a scale.. Or group of skills. You really learn to feel the road and how to handle losing traction. Anti-lock brakes don't really help though in my experience. Play if you are using the brakes at all it is very lightly. @@OTRBandit oh ok yeah I live in a veryly small in grants pass Oregon and they have signs saying unmuffled engine braking is prohibited on interstate 5 in both directions there's almost 40,000 people living in this semi small town that's why I thought it was illegal 2 use your J-breaks especially if you're not from our state the troopers love pulling outta of state people over constantly just please be safe coming through the state of Oregon I'd hate 2 c u guys get a ticket
How do stay cool in the summer if you don't idle?!
I use harbor freight generator and I plug in portable AC. Freezing cold.
Sounds healthy driver pre 08 ? Hammerdown
Thank you. Truck is 2016 but engine is 1998
I did this shit for 12 years, worst job i ever had
I would have to agree with you buddy
I did this shit for 45 years. Best job I ever loved.

@@thomasnorman4221 go away dude. Don’t care.
You need a green apu 😂
I would like one but they are too much money and when it breaks down I have to take the whole truck to the shop and lose money sitting.
All truck stops will milk you for your hard earned money just like those revenue collectors OTR Bandit. 🤬👍 I don’t want to curse on your videos
They are huge crooks that’s for sure. Everything is way overpriced at those truck stops.
That drop cord looked like a heavy duty drop cord so that’s not really too awful of a high price for a heavy duty cord!!
@@dougevans6389It is heavy duty for sure. After checking out prices at other stores, I think this price was ok.
Stop all that cussin or I'm changing the channel. Thank You 😊.

Way too much coffee I would have to agree

That’s a good idea.

Dude whatsup? Are you just gonna just talk and show senary ?
I have other videos where I talk about other stuff. What you want me to talk about? Got any suggestions?
Can you lighten up on the "yeah buddy" stuff ...and all the cussing isnt coming iff as being to professional ...

Mudwtr operator once u take it you’ll thk me seriously
I’ll have to order some to try it out
This individual is angry. Shouldn't be operating. Machinery when easily manipulated & controlled
I’m angry because I don’t get enough sleep at night. Your mom keeps me awake.
H the dude needs to watch his language
How about no
You are the type of driver that gives us a bad name. Chill out on the road rage bullshit Mr. Super trucker
I am the type of driver that gives you a bad name? Buddy I don’t even freaking know you. I am not the one giving everybody bad name out here. It is drivers like you who take shit in the bag and throw it out their window window in the middle of freaking parking lot.
I like the content and long drives, you should of bought a extension cord at Walmart when u stopped
Definitely should have but I totally forgot.
Just found your channel, love it! I’m just a local northeast Iowa grain hauler, but I felt your pain following that damn pickup 😂
He was doing 50 and the speed limit was 75. Very dangerous for him and everyone else. Had like 8 trucks behind me thinking I’m holding up traffic. Appreciate you watching brother 🙏🏼
Your swearing is not cool!!
I’m working on it. I’m trying to change but it’s hard. But I think I’ll get it under control eventually.
You dont have to apologize. If this person doesn't like it she can mute or just not watch you. You have a right to speak. J/s@@OTRBandit

This is very lonely job, ex trucker here over 30 years of being my own boss? Right! All drivers are is a means to an end.companies don't care, but need a economic way of distribution they goods ,truckers are still cheaper and safer after all these years. Had 2 great step dad's spend most of their life delivering goods across the United States, I mainly ran Southern states, my kidneys told me about 15 years ago I had to stop or die,so I stopped, guess what don't miss anything about it. Prayers for all truckers safety as you deliver America!
I’ll be honest with you my friend. There are good days and there bad days out here. But I wish I never stepped foot in one of those things.
A lot of drivers act like it's a threat to their manhood to drive safe in snow
I used to be one of those. I drove upstate New York through Ohio and Indiana turnpike with lake effect snow coming down like you wouldn’t believe. But not anymore. I’m too smart to do that now.
But sometimes u got drivers that are driving to slow making it more dangerous and not keeping momentum
Comrade, you saved $130.05.
Don’t forget about the 5 xtra cents in coffee!
Yes sir. Every penny counts.
Yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy yeah buddy.
I hate driving in that stuff. I ran into a bad winter snowstorm in Wisconsin last winter. It was -2 degrees gusting to 50 mph. I was very scared. I finally made it to abbyland travel center in Curtiss Wisconsin. I was praying to Jesus to keep me safe and warm. Be safe guy. And oh I agree with you about one giant California
I’m not a fan of snow driving at all. As soon as it starts snowing, I’m looking for a place to park. Better safe than sorry.
Beautiful rig now if we could just get you too drink real man’s coffee instead of the warm milk that you put in your cup
I need to stop drinking coffee all together. What coffee you suggest?
@@OTRBandit I drink Maxwell but any brand will work as long as you drink it black. I wouldn’t drink milk from the day I was born so I have been drinking coffee my whole life and when I was little my mom would put milk and sugar in it so she could get me too drink some milk anyway and I drank it that way until I got my first full time job after graduating high school and my boss was a former soldier from WW2 and he made the same comment to me as I did too you just drink it black but just enjoy it how ever you like it. also did you have a different channel a few years ago while driving for Prime or some other company I seem too recognize your voice I think one time you were driving east through a snow and ice storm and a truck in front of you had the wind blowing his trailer sideways I think you were headed to Roundy’s new distribution center west of Milwaukee WI
@@mikebonnett7730 Appreciate the tip. I definitely like black coffee but sometimes I can use some sweetener in it. I wasn’t driving for Amazon before. I’ve been independent operator driving for myself since 2008.
Semi Truck tires pack ice and turn to ice 😢 . No tires in the world can help you!
That’s why I always pull over and go to sleep. It’s not worth risking your life for a load.
Great looking Truck
I'm new to Your Channel.
Happy Shifting/Take Care!
Thank you very much 🙏🏼
i ran out of salt lake city for 45 years within a 500 mile radius driving a tanker--sometimes i was in wyoming everyday--i always came back empty--30 of those years was a rocky mtn doubles,105 ft,up to 129,000 lbs--always empty on the way back--never once did i chain up--i could pick my own schedule most the time--been out of it for nearly 5 years--the average driver today is a nit wit clown--only got shut down by weather a few times--glad i am done, clown show-the states used to let you do your own thing,no more.....
God’s word says he didn’t really die. He just went to live somewhere else. The word of God says we are all going to live forever somewhere. Our feelings won’t change that. I have no reason to believe that I will see my brother again.
if you borh believe in the Lord God Jesus Christ, you will see each other again. in heaven...but thats the main first step..

I drove from August 2012 to October 2020. Fixing come back out on the road. I have seen alot when I was trucking due to people not paying attention. It's better to shut down and stay safe then be sorry and keep running then end up in the ditch or worse. Stay safe driver and maybe we will meet once I'm back to trucking. God Bless From Oklahoma.
Better safe than sorry 100%
Do you know who you gonna be running for when you get back out here?
