Kurt seriously wrote some of the sickest riffs, and his progressions were fucking perfectly put together and on top of that his vocal harmonies fit those riffs perfectly. He really was an amazing song writer. I don't care if some of his riffs are "easy to play" which, in my opinion every single band of ever has riffs that are easy to play. Some are more technical for sure but every song has a root and those are usually fairly easy to play. It's writing them that's hard and then doing it over and over again. Massive respect to Kurt and Nirvana. Krist is really a very very good bassist. He came up with some amazing lines to Kurt's songs. Lithium and lounge act are my personal favorites by Krist.
So in love with this era of Nirvana. They were so amazing. This energy, makes me want to pick up my guitar and also sing and play. It drives me. It drives me so crazy. Fuels me to finish my songs. The rage and anger, anger is such a gift. 89 and early 90 Nirvana was the best. Nothing compares to it later on.
I love all of Nirvanas eras. I can't even pick a "favorite" Nirvana record because it just depends on my mood at any particular time. Same with their eras. I think they were fantastic all throughout 1989-1994 all in different ways. I will say that I think In Utero was their most evolved album but I tend to listen to Nevermind the most. Era wise I'd say Reading Festival 1991 was pretty damn great. Right before they blew up and Kurt was truly on fire.

@@MrJvnorth I don’t find it that hard to believe myself. His life went in a different direction completely. But he can always say he was in Nirvana and played with Cobain. No one can ever take that away from him! Also, I heard that he paid for the recording of Bleach $600! If that’s true then he even financed the beginning of the band. And I don’t think paid him back ever either. They were too broke at the time to do that. Now it would cool if someone paid him back and even added some interest to it. Don’t you think that would be fair? I know life isn’t fair but sometimes it’s good to see some Poetic Justice done. Like Pete Best, who was kicked out of the Beatles, was finally paid a piece of the Beatles fortune for his drumming on Anthology 1. At least $250 Grand, if not more. Which is a good chunk of money anytime. I like to see people get paid, especially musicians, because they usually get ripped off. What’s your view? 👏🏻🎸😎
One of the best early shows and featuring Jason Everman. Never forget he paid $600 to Produce Bleach. You think they ever paid him back? I doubt it. But he helped Bleach get recorded so that’s important. Great Early Show! Thanks for making it available! It’s like a time capsule looking back. Amazing!

It's funny how life goes by, I remember being on the bus to high-school when it was announced on the radio he was gone. His music spoke to us in way that is indescribable back then. It's still indescribable, now I'm on a journey to being an old man but I find myself listening to Nirvana on the RUclips and re living old memories.
I was on the bus heading home from school and the radio was playing. I could just make out the announcement over all the noise but I heard correctly. I will never forget that moment. I still feel like life stopped for many of our generation from that moment. I came from a logging town like Kurt did and can identify with some similar childhood struggles as well. 43 now, been listening to Nirvana more than ever recently. Man I miss those guys
5:57 i feel bad for krist you could tell he was trying to handle the situation lightly you can see it in his face "come on man don't touch my bass" then kurt comes flying in faster than a bird hitting a windshield
I think he grew as a guitarist, but in a 3 piece you gotta play your ass off to fill up the space. Way more enjoyable performance for Kurt, i suppose, if he is not so distracted. And Pat knows how to frame a song. Much respect.
@another pizza Would love to know the full story on this one. Jason was sadly kicked out...of the whole band, he put the most effort into kicking that drunk dude's ass!
Playing New York was a big deal for these guys at the time I am sure. If you have ever been to Aberdeen you would know, this is as big as it gets. 2 years from this show, they will be the biggest band in the world.

I know the audio is available, and the Breeders and Shonen Knife video's are out, so surely, hopefully,....... Please help! This has been a struggle and a journey.
I was at the UNO Lakefront show too. I'm from the Northshore. That still ranks as my all time favorite concert- they were SO ON!!! And they played damn near EVERYTHING! Someone used to have the audio from that show up on RUclips a few years ago because I listened to it. I've not been able to find it lately either but it's out there. Cheers P[>

kurt said he always imagined Nirvana as a four piece; it's why he hired Pat to play with them
Correction. They started as a 3 piece from 87 to 89....hired everman so he would pay for bleach, did one tour with everman, booted him at the end of tour, remaind a 3 piece until the inutero tour in late 93 when they hired pat
Your right. He was hired to play live like pat smear.
Hard to believe Everman would become a decorated special forces operator in the Army.
👏🏻🎸😎
School is one of my favorite songs from Nirvana. I'm not sure why. It's a very plain song with like 5 words, but it melts my face every time.
Definitely for me too
One of the best early shows and featuring Jason Everman. Never forget he paid $600 to Produce Bleach. You think they ever paid him back? I doubt it. But he helped Bleach get recorded so that’s important.
Great Early Show! Thanks for making it available! It’s like a time capsule looking back. Amazing!
Yeah, and I much prefer seeing him over there headbanging and being into it than later lineups. The more I see of these old videos the more I straight up prefer this era to any other.
@@DamageInc86 Its the only video I’ve seen of him playing in Nirvana. I didn’t think any video existed. Then he went into the military and a completely different direction.
@@dynjarren8355 I feel like ive seen another one. But yeah, probably pretty rare since he left soon after.
@@dynjarren8355he was in several others including the record store ones also he was in soundgarden after this before military.
He got to tour with sound grade too that's pretty sweet
You could tell Everman was a badass...the way he reacted with the drunk....future special forces and war veteran!
2020 ain't that bad..year of Nirvana comeback..interviews hd shows damn yeah
Well, I recently discovered this group, so yeah, not that bad: ruclips.net/video/0B4Nn9_9YHg/видео.html&start_radio=1
Nirvana is the last biggest band !
@@retrospiel You’d like Angus and Julia Stone.
Best concert ever wish i was there.
I've always loved this rock version of Polly! Amazing concert.
It's not the rock version, it's the song, Polly. Anything else is a version of this.
@@bobbymariani2839 BORINGGGGGGGGG
True
@@bobbymariani2839it’s called polly(new wave ) the normal Polly is in never mind Polly (new wave) is in insecticide
A very “bleachified” early version of Polly that I’d never heard before. The one on “muddy banks” is similar but this one is awesome too. Killer footage Thanks for uploading this. Proof that Nirvana were very punk rock in their beginnings….
"big wave" Polly.. definitely my favorite
This version of Polly is absolutely amazing.
All I can say is FUCK YEAH over and over again watching this
The delay in Kurt's vocals mic is sick as hell!!!
They sound so much better live with 2 guitars
I think he grew as a guitarist, but in a 3 piece you gotta play your ass off to fill up the space. Way more enjoyable performance for Kurt, i suppose, if he is not so distracted. And Pat knows how to frame a song. Much respect.
I disagree, but we all have out prefrence.
I was so happy when Pat joined them!!
They should've never fired Jason Everman.. I think he was a better fit than Pat
I disagree. I found it too noisy
Man, I wish I would have been in this crowd.
I wasn’t even born tell ‘09!
This is what I call "work of art".
A special moment in time!kurt we miss ya!
We do
Love how they fight some one in the middle of the song and kept playing and finished nice
@another pizza Would love to know the full story on this one. Jason was sadly kicked out...of the whole band, he put the most effort into kicking that drunk dude's ass!
@@awolsurf-TC it is very rare , you can tell he is having a lot of fun
5:11 Nice little cameo from a drunk Eddie Vedder there!
Playing New York was a big deal for these guys at the time I am sure. If you have ever been to Aberdeen you would know, this is as big as it gets. 2 years from this show, they will be the biggest band in the world.
And 5 years from this show, Kurt would do what he did.
I lived in Aberdeen. If you spent anytime there you'd be like "Oh yeah, it all makes sense now."
@@AgentXaos You mean courtney love Did what she did
This is fucking amazing, thanks for sharing and upgrading this video!!!
Loved seeing Krist using his ass to get that guy off stage....then Kurt's finally like "fuck it"....then Jason jumping off the stage after him...Rock and fucking Roll!!!!!!!!
Jason was the one that got fed up 😂 he would've been great live with Nirvana as a 2nd guitarist and security, he joined that military later
@@scarykurapika100yago2not just military, but special forces I believe,(seals)? and played with soundgarden
He came from backstage so that "stage manager" was aware of him, if not knew him or were friends.
@@benjaminfowler4513Army Ranger & Green Beret aka a fuckin legendary badass..Who can say they played in 2 legendary bands like Nirvana & Soundgarden, and went on to be a member of not one but two elite special forces units 😂
This performance is absolutely golden! The emotion, the energy, it's just perfect!
Great concert. Nice to see this is available to watch for generations to come.
@another pizza when have times changed?
Jason Everman was so good playing with them
Ema Heiwa agree, really like him!
He added something, didn't he? This is a pretty different band from the one that recorded Nevermind. But it has it's own brutal charm. Looser, but incredibly powerful at times too.
they were kinda asshole with him
@@TheEvaBalazs they were always assholes it’s just their style lol
@@mr.chocolatehazelnutspread8317 do you know them as a person?I justt read Come as you are and according to that theey were preetty asssholes sometimes.
Each LP was perfect. Bleach was the prefect sound of the time, Nevermind was new, the future, and In Utero was an amalgam, but with hints of what would have been soon to come when he and Stipe got together, or at least that’s how I hear it.
the only good thing about his death is he didnt taint his legacy with horrible rem bs....
That intensity man 🔥🔥🔥
unbeatable!
One of the best versions of Dive I've ever heard. I fucking love that song
The person who recorded this is a time machine, thanks
This brings back some epic memories. Great time to be a young music fan.
As a teenager I can just agree with you, its been a year since I discovered Nirvana and God I wish I could see them live...
@@peppapsyg But at least you Discovered Nirvana better late than never...😵
Dive is such an underrated song
Jason rockin' a Prong t-shirt
HOLY MOLY! What a lovely time to be an old fan.
Right!?!
The reckless freedom of early Nirvana is so special. Kinda like punk with better musicianship and much better vocals...Man that voice was raw and powerful ⚡
Here in 2021on mine(38th)and Kurt’ birthday 02-20-83 and 02-20-67- I have been a fan since I was 8 in 1991 - wow 30 years gone by fast- I had the fender Cobain signature jag stang guitar(blue)and started playing because of Nirvana. I spent my high school days locked away perfecting all things nirvana and oasis. I can play every Nirvana song still to this day.
6:24 what is he saying?
School's live version here is almost indistinguishable from the studio version considering it takes a lot of screaming. Amazin'!
Simply fucking awesome
Not just this vid but GOD BLESS any of you mofos for taking these vids back in the day of NIRVANA like this!!! I can't thank u enough.
I'm still looking for for the Dec 4th 1993 Uno Lakefront recording.
Its the Holy Grail to me, because my dad took me to the show for my 13th birthday.
Cheers P[>
@@patrickfoster4586, The Breeders and Shonen Knife video is available on RUclips, sadly, no Nirvana.
This time of history seems insane to me, I can’t even imagine what daily life was like, seing Kurt just living on that video coming out of a completely different time is so wird (I don’t have words)
Thanks for remastering this concert. It was unwatchable with the original source.
Btw could anyone understand what Krist mumbled in the mic at the end of the show?
it's the master ! it's not a remaster.
He had a tendency to imbibe a good bit
Bless you to whoever captured this video! Bless you man!
I would pay to travel in time only to go to that concert :(
Now that is what I'm talking about. Traveling through time and back as much as you like I reckon unless there's rules of the universe that forbid you to.repeatly visit your own pass. Something like one could cause a great Paradox and alter everybody and every everyone's own reality destiny and Fate would be completely altered Yikes. Gosh I would really hate to be that Guy. You dig?
RUclips = closest thing to time traveling. I feel like I'm there back in 89' watching this. I physical could have been there ... but I was 2 years old at the time. It would have been hard to understand just what I was seeing ... too where now I know
Its makes me very happy when I see Nirvana again..
Always exciting to watch NIRVANA on Stage. Nirvana filled our days during High School 1997-2000. Thank you for this beautiful Live Video. Amazing

Wow! , Cool! Nirvana kicking some ass from the stage.
What a great gig! The band in a amazing moment before they explode to world. Kickin off the drunk guy! this video just make my day, thank you!
i love this era of nirvana, they have a lot of energy compared to the in utero era, that second guitar feels powerful and makes them sound even better.
I love "scoff" and i aways wish to see they playing this Song live.♥️
Bleach's song is so much better when performed in live.
3 albums is all we got. And from what 92 on they will forever be remembered . 3 albums changed music. Immagine if kurt was here today.
this quality is super impressive
They were just so f****n fantastic. I feel sorry for the kids today. Nothing as real as this.
how is it humanly possible to scream like this for an hour without losing voice, man what a gift! I wish I could scream like this for 30 seconds ahhhh what a show!!
He's not screaming he is distorting his voice. It's a trick with your voice and breath control. If he was screaming he wouldn't get through a full set.
This is so rad to see. I live a few blocks down from the Pyramid Club. RIP :(
Omg this is great thank you to whoever worked on restoring this footage and audio
One of my fav nirvana shows
oh boy, it's finally here. i had a chance to go to this show and turned it down! i've been kicking myself ever since. in my defense, i had only heard love buzz and about a girl at that point and love buzz IMO is a lousy tune lol! my two best friends were in attendance though and i was 3 or 4 blocks away in my apartment...
Weren't interested in About a Girl?
Can't you feel my loooove BUZZZZ!!!
the way krist tried to bump the dude off the stage at 5:31 LMAOOO
It's like every song was Helter Skelter kicked up up a notch or any other great Beatles song. Which is why this band despite it's short life touched so many. They had that "magic".
Cool Kurt with TAD t-shirt.. X__x
Seeing music before the internet.. wish I could’ve been there
I remember the sad choices at the time. I say this not knowing at the time that the choices were sad. Plasticky pop music, over produced hair metal, top heavy and pretentious Metallica and megadeth. GNR had been a revelation, but they were spun out too. Then came this raw, tender and perfectly written music. Simple in delivery and profound with feeling.
wow. Just great. What else can we say? Thank you again Kurt, for this and for all.
