Ppl dogged this band as sellouts/ posers but this is about as perfect example of how invigorating,, chaotic and fun punk rock can be when done right. The whole thing with punk is the lack of separation between performer/ audience. Here with massive crowd/ huge stage/ giant security barriers they STILL make the audience part of the show. No other big band of this era would’ve tolerated this let alone encouraged it
This performance is with no in ear monitors, and they're so locked in. That's a testament to their musicianship in particular Tré Cool. He's such a solid drummer man. Amazing!
Green day, Primus, Metallica, NIN, RHCP, Cypress Hill, Blind Melon, The Cranberries, Rollins Band, were the best performances of the festival as I can recall. The 90s was an amazing time to be young.
You can then see a bunch of other security guards jumping in (because they recognized mike). They pull the guy who did the tackle off of Mike. Then you can see him getting up with a person consoling him before he walks off shaking his head in anger. Anyone else seeing this?

I remember when Nirvana pulled out of Woodstock in early 94 and I was so upset with it I didn't even want to watch the show. Then a few months later Kurt took his life and it put a huge dark cloud over the show not knowing if the show would turn out or not. Then hearing Green Day was booked in Nirvana's spot I was sceptic to say the least. Then once I seen Green Day perform at Woodstock 94 I knew this band was destined for greatness! They put on an amazing performance and just put alternative rock back in everyone's mind for that day. It was an amazing show!
