    In addition, consider who was learning karate when karate was introduced to Japan. Many of the early senior students were high ranking jujutsu practitioners, example Konishi soke of ryobu kai or Otsuka of wado ryu. Because Funakushi focused on university clubs many of his junior students were already black belts in judo.

    For me i do okinawan karate and i could say it has a lot of grappling ik i sound corny but I think its very cool

    Master, you nailed it again. I’m impressed with how vast your knowledge of history is. Many systems have become irrelevant to actual fighting or combat and have become more focused on the competitions that they engage in. That’s fine if one is focused on the sporting aspects. The more well rounded and adaptive a fighter is the better he or she will do in any engagement. One of the things I respect most about you and your school is how relevant this is. Having an instructor that develops all of the aspects of fighting is truly offering a great service and excellent content-

    Love the series. How is your approach different teaching children vs adults? In terms of what you emphasize as important, what you expect of the student, etc.
