    The amount of baskets MJ scored on multiple defenders, sometimes the whole damn defense, going at him at the same time is beyond absurd. I must have counted 6 hoops on two, another 5 on three and there were at least 2 hoops scored on 4 players from this game ALONE.

  • @lookinforthe70s

    He was like a spider. Side to side, back and forward, while dribbling a basketball, quick as hell. Then off the ground and in the air in a millisecond. He could look so much like a robot, how quick he could move, it was not human. But then at the same time, he was so smooth and creative, especially in the air, so very human. He was something else.
    80s Jordan was not of this world.

    This is the reason why I do believe Michael can beat everyone from any era. He has played against Kareem, Bird, Magic, Barkley, Drexler, The Bad Boys, Moses, Dr. J, Malone, Stockton, Ewing, Olajuwon, David Robinson, Timmy, Shaq, Penny, Alonzo, Reggie, Payton, Garnett, Iverson, Kobe, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, T-Mac, everyone!
    In terms of personal stats and performance, MJ was able to beat them all. And if he could beat Kareem, Hakeem, Shaq, or Ewing, there's no reason that he can't beat Wilt and Bill Russell.
    That's why he is the GOAT.

    During this time, Magic was all around better than MJ. MJ didn't know quite yet how to make others around him better. He therefore couldn't win/close games yet like the Lakers or Celtics..he got there though in the 90's of course. Magic was already there as a rookie..let alone in college and high school. From rookie to retirement, win or loose, Magic would make it to The Finals

    • @purplemonkeydishwasher4241
      @purplemonkeydishwasher4241 8 лет назад +7

      +TiltBrook Everything you said is b.s. Jordan was easily the better all around player at this time, considering he's so vastly superior defensively. Didn't know how to make his teammates better? That's just bullshit. Jordan carried a very young, not that talented team to 50 wins in a superior conference. In 1988 Jordan's best teammates were a young Charles Oakley, who was a good player, never a great player and an incredibly raw Pippen and Grant. Both guys had very little skill on offense at this point. Jordan was definitely making his teammates better, to say that he wasn't is just incorrect. From day 1 Jordan was pushing Pippen very hard in practice, helping make him a more complete player. Magic Johnson was very fortunate to be drafted by the best organization in basketball where he was consistently surrounded by great talent his entire career. Jordan didn't have that same luxury. He was drafted by a struggling Bulls franchise that had very little talent. To say Jordan couldn't close out games at this point is also bullshit, he was consistently winning games in the 4th quarter. And to your comment "Magic was already there as a rookie" well having perhaps the greatest center of all time still in his prime on your team may have helped, as well as all the other talented players he was surrounded with. Seriously, does context mean anything at all to people like you?

    • @TiltBrook
      @TiltBrook 8 лет назад

      Nope. MJ didn't win titles till he got better talent around him. Yes, Magic was drafted by the Lakers, but they only began winning titles once he came on board. Prior to drafting Magic, the Lakers weren't winning titles with just Kareem and company. You are right that MJ was a better one on one defender, but Magic was a better team defender.
      The Lakers needed Magic more than the Bulls needed MJ... once Magic left, the Lakers wouldn't win again till the Kobe/Shaq years. When MJ went off to play baseball, The Bulls still made the East Finals and almost knocked off NY

    • @TiltBrook
      @TiltBrook 8 лет назад

      Bottom line...if he was better than Magic at this point (in the 80's) of his career, then why wasn't he playing against Magic in the Finals at all? It took him 7 YEARS to get to the Finals. Magic was there (and won it) as a rookie. MJ has even stated that Magic was easily the man in the 80's

    • @TiltBrook
      @TiltBrook 8 лет назад

      No. It was Magic that was the reason they got to, and won, The Finals in his rookie year. Let’s remember, the Lakers hadn’t won a championship since 71-72. Then Magic came in, and the rest (of the 80’s) is history. Not denying that the Lakers had talent when Magic was drafted, but they weren’t a championship caliber team until he arrived. And they stayed that way all the way to his retirement

    • @TiltBrook
      @TiltBrook 8 лет назад

      Like I said, I know they had talent, point I'm making is those teams never won, let alone, made it to The Finals without Magic. From rookie to retirement, win or lose, he was always in The Finals
