This final was a piece of history: first championship for Jordan, last game in a final for Magic, end of showtime in LA, the beginning of a dinasty for Bulls, Phil Jackson becoming a legend as a coach, and the last final in the Forum
All of this is correct but I think Showtime officially ended the year before when Pat Riley resigned as HC after the Lakers were upset in the 2nd round by Phoenix. The 90-91 Lakers under 1st year HC Mike Dunleavy, brought in a different, slower paced style of play. They had a really good season and honestly OVER-achieved to get to the finals after upsetting the best record in the league Portland Trailblazers. This marked the end of the Magic era altogether (Even though he made the brief comeback in 96 for the 2nd half of that season, where LA went on to lose in 1st round of playoffs and Magic eventually retired for good)
Cant believe 30 yrs ago! Crazy. I remember in grade school how crazy it was. People lived , breathed, talked MJ. U wake up.. read the morning paper and big photo of MJ. Mj, we talked about him driving to the basket or sick fade aways
Yup.....I remember how everyone in Chicagoland lived and breathed the Bears and the Super Bowl Shuffle in '85, and then Jordan and the Bulls.....good times
And I, as a french student at Ohio State University was there in front of my TV set and it was just BRILLIANT !!! :-D Thank you AMERICA for those MAGIC MOMENTS !!!
yes he did, but very noticeably fatigued as he was in prior games 2, 3 and 4. He pretty much left Paxson unguarded at the end. I'm a big Magic fan and he had incredible stamina for a 6'9" guy. I suspect he already had HIV taking it's effects as it wouldn't be diagnosed until October that year.
Did you see Jordan cradle before the dunk at like 1:55. I thank God I was born in the right era to see him. He was so gifted and special. #THEBESTTOEVERDOIT
I lived the Chicago when they won the 1st title. The city went crazy! Ppl flipping over cars and buses. I went driving around with my friend and we saw all this. Throwing beer bottles at the police. It was a blast! There was nothing they can do. Ahh memories.

I was 9 and remember watching this series. I was always a basketball fan, but watching this series really stuck with me. It made me understand and realize what true greatness is.
Jordan and Pippen at their finest, Magic looking ridiculous with some of his passes and moves, and John Paxton being clutch as all hell. It doesn't get better than this!
Still one of the greatest venues on the planet. The forum is absolutely fantastic. Would love for the Lakers & Clippers to play each other at least once there.
With Pippen's and Jordan's ability to get to the rim at will, you had no choice but to leave Pax with open looks. That offense was nearly impossible to defend.
Juegazo fue toma y daca los líderes haciéndolo lo suyo moria una leyenda nacia el mas grande de la historia felicidad de repetir esos momentos de la niñez.
I agree until you said Cartwright 😂 that nigga was weak as shit 😂 can you imagine if they had Dennis Rodman instead of Cartwright 👀 yooooo...who's to say they would've pulled off 10 rings if Jordan hadn't retired after his first 3 rings 🤔
Fun fact: This is the 2nd most assist in an NBA finals game. (Magic with 20 assist, who also has the most with 21 6/3/84.) It was also his 8th triple double which Magic is 2nd with most triple doubles in the finals.
It's definitely true. 90's Bulls players were undersized in general than other teams but this made them incredibly athletic and energetic and their defense indefatigable in all the playoff games.
Yeah. Paxson was a hell of a shooter. While the dumbass people today talking like jordan had a bunch of scrubs teamates. The fqct that the bulla were the super team on that era.
@@rushrush1209 bcoz he got other shooter. Kerr and kokuc. Clearly Jordan isnt a one man team. He got more help other than any team in his era. Thats why they have dynasty. There is no team in NBA on dynasty with one man army. Its stupid.
As a Lakers fan, it would've been great if the Lakers were at full strength for this series. I think Worthy and Scott were injured, those were 2 starters. They still might lose as the Bulls were younger and hungrier, but it might've went to 6 or 7 games instead of 5.
I love how the dumbass agenda like trying to make it seem like Pippen guarded Magic this whole series, when in fact Pippen only guarded him in game 2 as a way of keeping him off Worthy who was torching Pippen in game 1.
Only idiots say that lol. Jordan in the beginning of the series is locking magic down lol. Ofcourse magic scored on him some possessions but I mean magic is a legend and that’s basketball Ofcourse he’s gonna get buckets still.

The Lakers mistake was not putting Rambis on MJ. The one man the could’ve shut Jordan down and Reilly fails to make the call
@@Censored4UViaGoogle Rambis couldn't shut down Jordan. No one could.
Pax was killing it in the 4th quarter
win or loss Magic Johnson is really a wizard at his own game.
Loved watching Magic's passes in this game. He kept the Lakers in as much as he could.
Great game by Paxson. I would rather watch 90's replays than anything the NBA has today.
Paxon was on 🔥🔥🔥. I remember this like it was yesterday. Jordan 🐐 forever
LeBron James exceeds that

Horace was a beast. and Pippin demonstrated why Jordan needed it him.
And this was passing of the touch from Magic to Jordan.
Pippen & Paxon delivered!

Bulls were lightning quick and swarming on defense. Could instantly turn defense into easy offense.
