About the dirty seat...I watch a lot of flight reviews and I think that is a trend that is starting to re-emerge. Some airlines are slowly slipping back to their pre-pandemic bad habits of not adequately cleaning their aircraft. Gone are the days of the virtue signaling announcements at the gate of how much they value your health and safety by providing a clean aircraft.
I agree. Things seems to be slipping away from the great standards set a few years ago
Once again, another great video, thanks Patrick for bringing us along! 😊😊

SAS's first Polar Flights from CPH were to Tokyo via Anchorage and they flew the route with the DC-7C. Since they could not board local passengers to Tokyo in those days, I got to fly them from ANC to CPH and we took off in a snow storm but once reaching cruising altitude I got served Breakfast since it was the middle of the night for the through passengers then I got a 2nd Breakfast when all the other passengers did. Later we were all served Lunch but due to fog in CPH we had to stop in Stavanger for refueling and after about a total 14 1/2 hrs. we landed in CPH. Sort of an exciting journey for an 18 yr old. Of course, when the jets were finally introduced, it was only about an 8 1/2 flight! Thanks for the memories! Merry Christmas!
They flew to Los Angeles via Greenland and Winnipeg in the 1950s using the DC-7 as well. There is a plaque commemorating this at the LAX museum in the old Imperial Terminal.
Great stories. Thanks!
Cool vlog! Nice Christmas decorations at Copenhagen. So nice to take a direct flight. Wow SAS has an interesting history … yummy meal !!! 30:16
Thanks man!
Merry Merry Christmas to you and Happy New Year!!!! Thank you for sharing you flight back home here!!😊😊😊
Thank you! I hope you had a good Christmas!
@@PatrickSheaAviation You are welcome. ☺
Iam Agree With you Me To I Like The Colors On Seats.Great Trip Report
Thanks!
The SAS A350s are beautiful! Saw one at LAX
Thanks for another great video Patrick. Wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas 🎄😉👍🏼
Thanks man! Same to you!
@@PatrickSheaAviation thanks! 🎅🏽🎄
SAS gives you lounge access for premium economy at their hub airports. That’s a win. Also Stockholm is nicely positioned to take advantage of flying over the North Pole to reach west coast cities faster.
I absolutely believe you have the best travel vids. It seems you are mostly doing international trips. I would love to see domestic trips to.
I got a few plans. Just trying to work it in to the schedule
I wish I had a Copenhagen stop for my upcoming SAS trip, but I'm still looking forward to Stockholm and that famous 747 hostel.
- Red
That still sounds like a win
Merry Christmas!
Thanks! Hope you too had a good Christmas!
I gotta say, disregarding the colors, those particular SAS Business Class seats look similar to Philippine Airlines' A350 Business Class as well as those acquired by Lufthansa from PAL and some of PAL's refurbished, non-high-density A330s.
Anyway, Merry Christmas to you and your family, Patrick! I'm glad I found your RUclips channel during the latter part of this year. 🎄 🎁
Interesting! Thanks! Hope you had a good holiday!
Merry Christmas, dude🎄what a trippy window segment on take off and free wi-fi! that fresh fig looked appetizing! so next Sunday will be NYE lol where did the year go(?)
Thanks man! Time flies when you’re having fun I guess 🤷♂️
Merry Christmas 🎉
Thanks bro! You too
Glædelig Jul! Merry Christmas, Patrick. 9.912
Thank you! Hope you had a good holiday!
Love the content brother ! Interesting to see how you’d cope 7 hours on Hisky a321 flights to Mombasa or Zanzibar from Bucharest.
Intriguing. I’ve done some wicked long narrow body flights in economy, but new places are always interesting
Nice video - I've never travelled SAS or been to the Nordics (wel,, apart from to Rovienimi to meet Father Christmas!) - looked a great trip and the fact you slept for hours means it was a great flight! That's the whole point of Business class - a lie flat bed - having done it, it's very difficult to back to the cheap seats especially on long haul (anything over 5 hours for me - I can't sit in economy for longer than that any more)
You pay $100/hour extra to lay down in business class. For $100/hour I would stand on one leg.
@@peterrisbergs7156 I've only got one leg Peter
I like SAS. That said, back in the days when smoking was permitted on airplanes, SAS had the absolutely WORST smoking configuration. Instead of dedicating the back 'x' number of rows being smoking seats, SAS dedicated the entire starboard side of the airplane for smoking, with the port side seats designated for non-smoking. There was nowhere to sit where you could avoid being enveloped in smoke. That was the reason I chose any other airline available for the route I needed to fly.
Dang man. Thats a crazy concept to roll with
all manila NAIA terminal 1, 2, & 3 have attractive Christmas decor with each terminal decorated differently on both arrival and departure halls
Interesting. Went there a lot this year. Maybe I’ll make it a Christmas time visit next year
24:57, Nice, I love that. Etihad, Airbus A330-300, Bamboo airways, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Aero Mexico, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, SAS, Airbus A330-300 on your flight and (Delta airlines, Airbus A220-100 which I flew for the 1st time in May of 2021 from San Francisco to Las Vegas (but it's operated on the Airbus A319) via Salt lake city and both flights is good) have window inside the lavatory. I wish all airlines and fleets have window inside the lavatory.
I hope SAS ventures with Heart Aerospace will prove beneficial. Heart, for those who not know, is Swedish so it’s close to home for the airline.
Another great video Patrick. It looked like when you put that seat into bed mode, you got a free stick of gum in that crack.😜 I can’t wait to see where you go next.
Ha! Thanks man
Blimey! flying on Christmas Eve, or at least that what it reads: "posted about five hours ago" according to my time zone; I fancied the seats a lot, except for that bit of little rubbish; food seemed very fancy a good; the salmon tartar is typical from the Scandinavian "cuisine" also ...once again your review is (was) so accurately described as all of your videos; and yet...again you're such a lucky bloke Patrick flying from "Danmark", I fancied it very much..so "så hilsner og glædelig jul med afgang fra københavn Patrick"...i.e.: merry christmas...cheers and Saludos
Thanks a ton man! Happy holidays! Flying on December 23rd was definitely a crazy experience
not a crazy experience at all, a good one SALUDOS@@PatrickSheaAviation
Nice video. Wonder if there were any extra security checks/measures on the flight?
Not sure if you heard about the man that managed to sneak aboard an SAS flight in November without a passport and went unnoticed until CBP in LAX... if you read the indictment online... what a bizarre incident
I did hear about that. Totally crazy. Didn’t notice anything extra though
2:30 wrong statement, past immigration to the C Gates you Can get access to the Eventyr lounge with panoramic view over the terminal and runaway 😉
SAS used to fly to Brazil, Argentina, India, Hong Kong, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Pakistan, Phillipines, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Uruguay. Sadly no longer
In June, SAS will be flying to a new US destination, Atlanta GA!
Yep. I’m sure we see them at other skyteam destinations as well with their alliance shift
I’ve never vibed so much with a anything more than the Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon comment 😂😂😂😂
What a shame SAS stopped providing mattress pads in business class, they were provided Cph - SFO earlier this year.
Really?! Bummer! I've only ever flown their economy class until this flight
I really like SAS business class too. It has been ten years since i have flown them - the connections in Copenhagen and Stockholm usually don't work well for me. Back then, the A340s had angle flat seats but the service was excellent and I really liked their approach to the meal service and use of iconic Scandinavian brands in the cabin. Everyone has their own opinion and I try to avoid some of the top rated business class products because I don't like them as well as say SAS or Swiss.
That’s fair enough. They have gone through plenty of aircraft and cabin products but it does seem like their soft product and meals have remained on a similar tier
@PatrickSheaAviation I wanted to be an architect (I'm in Financial Services) so I am into design. Royal Copenhagen china, Orrefors glassware, Georg Jensen silver and Hastens bedding... I mean, really? And the meal service was a bit of theatrical cheesiness but picking my breakfast off of the cart... I could choose my fruit mixture and what and how much of what I wanted. Honestly, the meal service on SAS was my favorite of any airline. Maybe even better than Lufthansa First or Concorde.
Philippine Airlines A330-300 also use this kind of design for business class and i personally like it. SAS and phil air for me for this business class. ❤
Awesome! I do know that it’s a fairly common A330 business class
23:58, You sleep well on your flight for 6 or 7 hours? I hope you enjoy your business class flat bed, even though there is no air vent.
I see Air France-KLM has offered to buy part of SAS and thereby take it out of bankruptcy. That may explain why the cabin was not in good condition with noticeable scratches and dirt and litter on the floor and seat. It also seems that Star Alliance flights coming into Europe are primarily focused on Frankfurt and Munich as hubs rather than the SAS hubs for flights to other parts of Europe and Asia or Africa.
I wonder how much of the airline will change after the move to SkyTeam. I will also add that FRA and MUC definitely have a high amount of Star Alliance transiting passengers, but it seems as if this specific route has a good amount of point to point travelers, so unless prices rise significantly, we may see it outlive the merger
I did the exact same flight 2 months ago in business class😂
I'd prefer if they stayed in SA but personally would love if switching to Skyteam means serving MSP.
Yea… as an SFO native, Star Alliance is obviously my go to, but if it keeps SAS out of bankruptcy, I guess I’ll accept it
The SAS Lounge before immigration is really a Big Letdown for travellers...
Thank you for this awesome flight report.
Yea it was tough to have to time out the immigration step after the lounge. You never really know how crowded it’s going to be unfortunately
I suspect MSP will be added as well as LAX. It would not surprise me if SAS abandons SFO and adds ATL.
I thought that too, but it sounds like they have a good amount of point to point SFO traffic so losing the UA connections may not hurt them too bad. I do see MSP and SEA getting service though. But I guess time will tell
@@PatrickSheaAviation New year, new routes - SAS will be starting services to Atlanta from Copenhagen
I’m understanding your time was limited at the airport but you made it .
Took a good bit of running, but we made it work
Quite sure the cleaning crews didn't vacuum your seat well enough unless they reclined it.
Yea idk 🤷♂️ guess they gotta check the cracks
how come SAS doesnt have separate check in for business class?
I think I saw some for business and star alliance gold, but I was in a hurry and the main section didn’t have too long of a line
SAS does have business class check in.
20:48, Really? Wow, your lucky to have a free Wifi in business class. But in economy class, they have to pay for free wifi.
CPH is a dump unless you only look downwards. Once airside it's worse.
Idk I enjoyed it there in the time I had at least
I really enjoy your videos but with respect the non stop narration is gruelling. Some succinct sub titles could replace at least half of it and make less work for you.
You sound cute in this video.
WTF is your preview title talking about
🤨
SAS is not even in the Top 5 best European business class products
What would you say is ahead of it?? The seat, design, lounge, and food were all top tier for me
@@PatrickSheaAviation Finnair, Air France, Virgin Atlantic, BA new business class I would all rate better
You are talking too much and film people without permission. Dislike.
I like the amount of talking. Go touch grass
You might as well watch Japanese or Korean youtube channels. They don't talk much in their videos. North Americans tend to talk a lot in their videos.
