Was about to post I've never seen such wellbehaved and content kids going traveling. Kudos. But then you're complaining about maybe 30bucks extra for a few sodas for the kids considering you paid less than 299usd per head. But I get it. Totally. SAS is supposed to act as a legacy carrier and give at least Lufthansa kinda service in economy. Drinks wise at least. Be glad though, that you didn't go via Frankfurt and took LH in Y class. I've never ever had one satisfying meal on hansa. My pasta in economy to Mexico was so crap I didn't get any food going there. Sas has room for improvement but overall their food usually doesn't fail unless ur vegan. And that cabin looked fresh 😮
The footage from Miami BTW with all those flowers and birds almost made it feel like watching something produced by National Geographic. Top notch quality and editing!
Adorable family. This video made me very happy to watch, not only because I am Swedish but the amazing images from the flight and the great review he gave even his daughters review at the lounge before the flight was great, the food apparently wasn't great there haha. This family seems like the perfect family. An awesome dad and 3 beautiful children. I will subscribe this video was great to watch.
OMG Gabe! You are doomed! First, your kids are an 11 out of 10. Such great travelers with great attitudes and disposition. Your oldest is funny. Next your Player 2 deserves a medal and a Nobel Prize! I stopped traveling when my girls were this age as the mayhem at home would have led to jail-time for someone. Hope you had a great winter break. Was hoping to run into you at ARN two weeks ago. Fly safely!
Lovely family you have Gabe and a great video. SAS looks pretty much like those 14-15 y old finnairs 330 i take every month to Doha from Cph. Old planes yes but the interior is really fresh and clean.
Excellent report. Thank you for that. You have really cool kids. And kudos to the mother as she is probably well occupied with them when you are on your different travels.
Once again a nice review, thanks Gabe! We fly quite a lot of long haul in economy class and it is only with SAS we get the low cost airline vibes having to pay for everything. As you said , I think it cost more (in bad will) than it saves. All other airlines we have flown long haul recently have included premeal drink plus wine and beer with your meals. We also often had the possibility to get extra drinks and snacks for free. Usually we get two choices of meals in economy but not with SAS, here one dish fits all But besides this the SAS crews usually are service minded and do nice a job Airlines flown are LOT, Suisse, United, Thai, Asiana, Lufthansa, Air India.
Hi Gabe, I enjoyed the flight, and the bonus FL highlights. And it was cool seeing your kids, nice that you could travel as a family at such a low cost per person. RogerC 4/6/24
Thank you gabe for introducing your family. Now SAS get yourself together and provide decent catering to your customers. Love your videos. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
12:54 More of a car question than aviation but I like both. That looked like a hybrid Jeep Wrangler 4xE. What were your main opinions on this Jeep if you don’t mind answering? Thanks Gabe! Great price on those economy seats 👍
Yeah that’s correct! I loved that it was a plug-in because those Wranglers usually get terrible gas mileage and this meant we could mostly cruise around on electric only (30 miles range). Also the electric motor was nothing special but still much better and smoother than the usual dinky engines you get in the Wrangler. I would never buy one, but it was a fun choice for vacation.
@@airedition that’s good to hear 👍 They have a Wrangler 392 V8 but mostly unattainable by price and rarity. Definitely agree they are better on vacation but even that small EV range makes it intriguing. Thank you! I really do enjoy the vacation clips at the end of the flight reviews 😎
Great video as always and nice to see your family again even when it's evident your kids are more interested in being on camera than Mrs 😉 You said you used to live in Miami and I really struggle to understand how one would be willing to leave that for Sweden 😅 Have a great weekend Gabe!
Thanks! Yeah that’s worthy of a whole conversation re Miami versus Sweden but for us Sweden is a far better place with small kids, even if I miss the weather!
Wow what a fare?! sub-300 per person for a cross continental is truly amazing! What you paid for 5 is often paid for single economy tickets on similar routes! Out of curiousity, assuming you're an American that moved to Sweden, how are you enjoying the Scandinavian lifestyle? Don't you miss the miami beaches and weather at times? 😅
There’s lots that’s great in Scandinavia especially if you have small kids. The weather is not one of them 😁, and yes I do miss the Miami weather and beaches but its drawbacks (for us) outweigh its attractiveness!
From Stuttgart to Tallahassee via Atlanta we flow over Greenland and had an fantastic view of Greenland, i did make pic of it, it was realy realy wonderfull.
i wish SAS was not leaving Star Alliance! Their basic economy sales are pretty nuts. Hopefully they're able to get the finances sorted so that they can operate more A350s again.
SAS long-haul catering in Economy absolutely sucks. No other airline I've flown on does the drinks service for the entire cabin, then starts again with the meals. By the time you get your meal (no choice, one meat-based dish for everyone), your one soda is gone.
Already back in the eighties and nineties when I flew long haul on Lufthansa and KLM they did it like this. It was a new experience around 2000 when I made several flights with Asian carriers that they came along with two trolleys, one for the food and one for the drinks. Sad to see that there are still carriers around which follow that old habit.
@@airedition Nice jag trodde du baraq kunde engeska eftersom att du pratade engeska med svenska piloter. You are best!😀 I also have gold flightradar 24 pass!
Well, to be fair, you got the “bulkhead” road right after Economy Plus, and row 30 definitely doesn’t have “standard” economy seat pitch. Maybe should have been made clearer to the average flyer who now thinks standard SAS economy has this amazing seat pitch.
How was that not made clear? I state it right at the outset that row 30 is going to be a very different experience from the rest of economy. And other times in the video too. Literally could not have been clearer!
@@aireditionFor a frequent flyer like myself it is crystal clear, I know aerolopa or seatmaestro and able to check out what’s so special about row 30, but IMO not for the average Joe who is on a longhaul flight maybe every 3 or 4 years and is already overwhelmed with different aircraft types.
Flew with SAS once to Europe and back and the experience was far from positive. I wouldn’t do it again. Service is wack compared to other European airlines and the staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. The only positive thing all the flights were on time.
@@airedition it was Spring 2023. They didn’t even want to check in my carry-on suitcase while literally every other airline has no issue with that. 😂 They charged my partner like $12 for a single glass of wine on board on a transcontinental flight which is unlimited complimentary everywhere else. Basically it felt like overpriced Ryanair to me.
I'm not complaining, I'm pointing out that it feels cheap. Also who said I was looking for the cheapest possible flight? I choose based on quality and schedule in addition to price. If I feel an airline is being needlessly cheap with me, I'll spend my money elsewhere. That said on SAS, it's not a dealbreaker, just unfortunate.
Also, you can express an opinion here without attacking me. "What's wrong with you?" is an especially confusing choice. There you're just another person spreading mild hate online. Do you feel good about that?
Your kids are a joy. Every parents dream when travelling is to have well mannered children. Precious moments seeing a child light up. Bless you all
Thank you!

Is the paying for softdrink thing new? I think we drank about 3-4 sprite's on our trip to japan last year without paying
