My final flight on Vistara ever.
It was only my second ever Vistara flight, but I'm already feeling nostalgic. In the last months of Vistara's operation before getting merged into Air India, I caught their beautiful A321NEO from Mumbai to Delhi in business class. This is a lie-flat seat flying India's busiest route. And it was my last domestic flight in India before heading home.
Watch to find out what I thought of the flight, and what my hopes are for how Air India might take some of the best of Vistara and keep it alive in the new, rebranded and rejuvenated flag carrier for the country. It's been an amazing trip India, and I can't wait to come back for more.
More of my India series!

Vistara is gone. I tried out their premium economy.
Просмотров 13 тыс.День назад
I took a Vistara flight just before they disappeared. Today's flight is in premium economy on Vistara's A320neo, flying the short domestic route from Bengaluru to Mumbai. That means I've got a dedicated cabin just behind business (which seemed overpriced), I've got a bit of extra legroom and a decent meal, but that's pretty much it for the perks. Oh and I took some time to check out Bengaluru's...

Join me again on the Air India Airbus A350-900, this time in the chic premium economy cabin! Spirits are flying high with Air India these days- passengers are excited to fly on these beautiful new aircraft, and cabin crew memb...

Flying the *gorgeous* Air India A350 | Delhi to Hyderabad

I’m finally flying Air India’s brand new, dare I say revolutionary A350, in business class on a domestic flight from Delhi to Hyderabad. While these A350s still have the Aeroflot seats with Air India finishes and branding, it’s a good indication of where Air India is headed, and wow is it a stark change from the 787 flight I just took a couple of days prior to Delhi. Putting Air India's 787 business class to the test

Is Air India as bad as they say? The Indian flag carrier has been privatized and is in the middle of a massive turnaround effort, with new planes joining the fleet, new seats and soft product being introduced, and an entire company culture in the midst of major change. Or so we're told. When I found an incredible business class fare from Copenhagen to Delhi (operated by their workhorse 787 Drea...

I understand the time constraints though, hopefully you'll be back soon to review them. Last night my wife and daughter had an Air Canada flight to Vienna. They upgraded from PE to BC at check in for $1,000pp. They went to the Signature Lounge. Now, our past experiences with the Signature Lounge were outstanding. It’s the only service AC provides that stood out from typical airline lounges and a real step up from their Maple Leaf lounge. When they arrived they were told that they were limited to 3 hours before departure but allowed them in. Later they were told that they had made a mistake and that they weren’t entitled to the Signature Lounge because they had not paid full BC fare. But they weren’t asked to leave. But AC wasn’t done attempting to live up to their motto. Our daughter needed to do some work but it seems they removed work stations so they went to the Maple Leaf lounge. Later when they tried to return to the Signature lounge they were denied entry. AC has again met its motto. “We’re not happy until you’re not happy”. Whoever is running marketing for AC’s Business Class is incompetent. The 3 hour limit is ridiculous with $6,000 plus fares. When someone upgrades to BC at the last moment, all be it for a discounted rate, it’s AC’s opportunity to convince the passenger that the service is worth the regular price. Instead they make the passenger feel they were cheating the system and don’t really belong in Business Class. A missed future sales opportunity.

Air Canada’s motto is “we’re not happy until you’re not happy”. On a recent business class flight from Tokyo to Toronto they ran out of business class dinners and later, breakfasts by the time they got to my wife’s seat. And all for a $8,000 pp airfare.

I will never set a foot on a wizzair flight. A little more than year ago i was in Hungary with my family on a holiday when the war broke out. Our flight was cancelled right away so as any other flight by wizzair to Israel at that time. I always was their loyal customer, untill i met their predatory refund policies. 1. You can only first refund your flight to wizzair credits and then transfer it into real money 2. Their website is actively deterring you from making a claim to refund your flight to your bank/credit card. The links from virtual assistant to make a claim will ask you to login once more into your account and then fail to authorize due to your password being incorrect, so you will have to navigate an hour on their website to find a transfer button 3. If you actually spend your credits and your other flight is cancelled you are not eligible to refund and there is no way to get your money back Do not fly with wizzair in general because of their service and flight quality, especially if you have a risk of your flight being cancelled. They manage to keep prices low only by charging you extra for every additional feature that was sneaked in and robbing people out of their money / making the refund process a complicated maze

In Europe and now in South East Asia, the airlines increasingly don't allow any checkin luggage even on 5 hr long International flights which is shocking to say the least since all Indian Airlines allow 15 Kg checkin luggage at very least in domestic flights and even more so on International flights.

Total ban on Hindi, Gujarathi, Punjabis and Bengali speaking countries to the west from Indian Union will eliminate all the rotting garbage. These are the areas where the worst type of people with no speaking skills, no assimilation motives, blunt human rights violations, notoriously far right Hindu cult nationalim(nothing different to Islam most people don't recogmize this) doesn't understand West and Christian values because it doesn't exist in their Countries at all and have been at the bottom of the scum economically and socially since ever. This is the REAL third world region in Indian Union. Original Ethnicities of Telugu, Marathi, Kannada & Tamil Nadu are generally first world with strong moral compass and solid integration of western lifestyle since over 200 years (but only those from big metro regions). The rest are just moderates but 1000 times better than above mentioned groups. There is no such thing called as Indian, it's a pseudonym, There are 30 odd countries in the Union. One is like Netherlands Another one is like Angola. You get the point now! The only reason India was charted as a country in 1948 because majority(90+% at the time) of the population had one religion in common and that's Hinduism and they were in bloody wars with Islam. Therefore, to avoid losing it was created as a Country a Union of Nation States and officially called as Sub-continent. FACTS!!! Spread the Truth!

Hey, nice video. I found your video to be right on the mark - regarding your question if the whole premium economy class seating is worth the $. I find it not bad. (It's definitely better than being back with the cattle in economy. [I hope that doesn't get me in trouble, saying that.] I've only been flying recently in premium economy and find that it's worth that little bit extra $ from the straight up economy ticket.) I also didn't mind the recline angle of the premium economy seating and was able to get a good cat nap in during some recent flights (15+ hours). Upon a very recent flight I splurged for a business class seat. I found that this seat offered me less comfort when I tried to sleep on my long flight leg, but found the service exceptional, actually making that flight worth the $ spent. I just slept with the seat reclined rather than put fully down. Now, would I splurge for business class from now on? I think not. The carrier was also Air Canada.

Interesting that you found the business class seat less comfortable! I like to put it laying flat but then bring the headrest up a few degrees, that's the best angle for sleeping I think. But to each their own!

"LATIN AMERICAN TRADE IS DOMINATED BY CHINA" WSJ 11/14/2024 P. A-8). THE AXIS Conquest OF SOUTH AMERICA BEGINS WITH ECONOMIC POWER, THEN POLITICAL POWER (THE "PLAY BOOK" OF "STATE CAPTURE") THEN MILITARY POWER! China is now building a massive deep-water port in Peru along with an enormous network of tunnels and roads through the mountains to harvest the natural resources of South America. Initially this will be used for trade as China receives the South American natural resources that it needs, and sells its goods throughout South America. This new deep-water port will allow large ships to make the journey from China to Peru in only 10 days. In other words, the AXIS countries will soon be able to move an entire army to South America in less than 2 weeks. Although this force may be peacefully invited by one or more South American countries (note the joint military exercises of China and Belarus on the Polish border in July 2024), the AXIS armed forces can also be forcefully deployed in the future with the support from their combined navies, armies, and air force. Remember, China now has the largest navy on the planet and it is also the world’s largest shipbuilder receiving 49% of ship building orders in 2021. The US in comparison only produces less than 1% of new merchant ships. The last thing a totalitarian regime wants on its borders is a free country with democracy, freedom, and prosperity. For example, China cannot accept democracy in Hong Kong or Taiwan because its very existence is an existential threat- not a strategic threat- to totalitarianism. Red China believes that any spark of freedom could erupt into a torch of liberty threatening the communist party. Chinese suppression of freedom is backed up by sophisticated surveillance of its population with the constant threat of civil or criminal action by the state without due process of law. We need to remember the invasion and subjugation of the people in Tibet, the crushing of a peaceful student movement for democracy in Tiananmen Square, the destruction of democracy in Hong Kong, or the placement of 3.5 million Uyghurs in concentration/re-education camps where they are controlled by forced labor and the threat of violence and starvation. Western democracies should cast aside their indifference to events in Central and South America which are now falling victim to the spread of AXIS (Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran)totalitarianism. Dictators need an enemy to justify their repression of civil liberties and to maintain war economies requiring economic and human sacrifices. North Korea continues to threaten invasion and nuclear attacks against Koreans living in South Korea while using propaganda, misinformation and indoctrination to convince their repressed population that they have a mortal enemy in South Korea and the United States. One need only compare the standard of living of the people in North Korea with those in South Korea to realize that democracy has led to greater prosperity when the shackles of tyranny are removed. Because of malnutrition and poverty, the North Koreans are 1 to 3 inches shorter than the South Koreans. If you look at a nighttime satellite photo of the Korean peninsula you see the North in darkness and the South brightly lit up. The very existence of South Korea's success has to be kept from the people in North Korea who would naturally want their own freedom, democracy and prosperity. The Venezuelan people should not stand alone and unarmed against Maduro and his AXIS allies! In September 2024, the duly elected President of Venezuela Edmundo Gonzalez was forced into exile in Spain because the Maduro administration controlled most institutions including the Election Commission, Supreme Court, the military and police, the courts, the press and media, and repressed the political opposition before, during and after the election. We are seeing a repeat of the May 20, 2018 stolen election in which Juan Guaido was elected while the world’s democracies did nothing except for ineffective economic sanctions. The “Play Book” of “State Capture” in Venezuela has succeeded since 1998 when Chavez was first elected and then turned around to destroy the very democracy that gave him the power of the Presidency. The corrupt dictatorship Chavez created has continued for a quarter of a century. After Chávez died of cancer, Maduro continued the corrupt dictatorship with the economic, military, political support of the AXIS. At a time when Europe is being starved for energy, the AXIS "State Capture" of VENEZUELA WITH THE LARGEST OIL RESERVE ON PLANET EARTH was a tremendous victory for AXIS as they "weaponize" fuel and food in their struggle to destroy democracy, freedom and the rule of law. The AXIS countries and their allies are planning for decades into the future globally, while we in the west tend to look at the world in silos with a short-term horizon and attention span tied to election cycles. The AXIS countries and their allies are de-stabilizing fragile democracies while creating autocratic allies and proxies on every continent. Let us not forget the threat to democracy in the Western Hemisphere by the AXIS (Russia, North Korea, China and Iran) and their allies and proxies. David A. Mangs Ph.D.
