A version of this seat (same look, some differences in tech) is being retrofitted onto a majority of the 388 and 77W fleet. Some 40+ aircraft already retrofitted. Re dimmers, EK elected not to. Passenger feedback, they said, and I agree. They’re too slow. Give me a blind any day.

Hey, I totally agree with you about the food and service! The slippers and eye mask were nice, but I wish there was a small bag of amenities. My only real complaint about the 8-hour trip was the wood accents everywhere. The wood around the window actually reminded me of something I’ll leave out here, but you did take a quick shot of it. Notwithstanding the predicted hate from many common taters, I appreciate your honest review. As an older guy, my travel days are behind me, but I still enjoy watching reviews, and I aggressively generate points/miles to help other people travel. I think lots of yewtoobers are unwilling to give honest reviews of airlines from third-world countries, and they review them based on a different standard. Skytrax actually rates ET at 4 stars, the same as Turkish, Swiss, Austrian, British, Air France, Qantas, and Lufthansa, and above SAS or Brussels Airlines. Seriously, aside from an Ethiopian, I don't think anybody would choose ET if they had the option of flying any of these other airlines. Of course, Skytrax is a pay-to-play service, so I give little credence to their ratings, but they are widely reported. I find it frustrating when an airline has such a hodge podge of seats and configurations. IME, I have not been able to find the seat configuration on ET until I actually book the flight. You simply never know which plane you are going to get. I support a US-based charity that is active in Africa, and I use my miles to send the director there every year. I was shocked when I learned that she was flying there every year in Economy. Nobody should have to endure 30+ hours of travel, each way, in cattle class for work. This year I am using United miles, and there is nearly unlimited availability in business class on ET. This tells me that very few people are actually buying business class seats on ET. Within Star Alliance, I would rather send my friend on Brussels or Turkish, but biz award seats on those airlines are hard to come by. Last year, I used AA miles to send her in QSuites, and I may have ruined her for all other airlines. The one time I flew QSuites, I could barely bring myself to leave the fantabulous lounge after my layover in Doha. I don't think anybody has ever said that about the Sheba Lounge at ADD. Lastly, I do not think ET is competitive on pricing. While I am using miles to send my friend to Africa, I always review cash prices. Roundtrip business class from DEN-EBB is $7,500 on ET, when you could fly Turkish or Qatar for just $4,800. No wonder they have so many award seats available!

I was hoping for haggis ... I think this is great they finally have an a 1-2-1 config but it might mean first class is on its way out. it have been special to fly first from ARN. QR are my favorite airline and they just now added a second flight. Don't have enough legs with EK to compare the service (Have 350k+ miles with QR) but on EK 380 in business it was not up to pair with QR.

The climb on the A350 is insane

The cabin is just so busy…..every inch has faux wood, shiny surfaces, decals…..it’s all just too much!

Seat still looks narrow to me but I'm a side sleeper so probably doesn't matter for me but will see next month when I get on this bird.

Hi Gabe, Great video, I'm still yet to try the EK A350 product, but it will probably be economy, would like to see if there's any change perhaps if a short flight from DXB to BAH in Economy, I would like to see, how it compares to the other EK Economy class, if possible, I know EK Premium Economy is also a nice product. Anyway I have got a rare chance to fly Business back in 2023 and 2024, work related trip of course, it was awesome, great service, I didn't mind the seat, however for someone who flies Business all the time people will say "What do I know?" Irrelevant to me anyway, to date all my Emirates trips be it work or mostly holiday, has been great, I did a flight in Economy class from SEZ via DXB to NCE, definitely had a great time onboard, superb ICE entertainment system, great attentive crew with great customer service, I can't complain. Emirates is a great airline and I will definitely fly them again.

Extremely beautiful cabin matching the level of China airlines that I consider the best in my humble taste , however seats are very narrow . You spoke lovely Arabic btw , so can we consider your first love to A350 is from Emirates and 2nd from Air India 🤓

did the wifi get faster over Europe?

I love the dimming windows ( i experienced it on my flight between LHR to Muscat with Oman air) but then there's a chance the crew will lock them which i hate. Nothing worse than the crew dimming & locking the windows during a daytime flight. The new decor looks great, i think Emirates have listened to feedback and made it less bling bling and less veneer and gold.

Hi Gabe, agree with your comments about the plane and service...can't wait for EK to get the A350 version with crew rest to fly long haul! I'm flying EK since the start of the airline and there's something about them others just don't have or can copy...how else could they get away for so long with the famous angled lay flat + middle seat in biz on their older 777...

The decor and materials are fantastic. Airbus incrementally improves its aircraft constantly, so I believe that newer batches of the same order will have slimmed cabin walls and electronic window shades. How it works is, when the planes come in for C or D maintenance, cabin fittings can be upgraded to the latest spec.

Cant wait to go on this, living in Edinburgh I had no clue the inaguration flight was coming here otherwise id have prob tried to go see it land only found out the next day once everyone started posting about it. The 350 is just wonderful in every aspect, hated having to fly in the 787 when Qatar had their issues and eve Emirates being expensive af didnt want to spend that on a 787 flight but now its an A350 its gonna be well worth it, shame its a red eye though. I remember flying the Boeing 787 when 1st introduced and believing it would rule the skies. However Airbus doubled down with the 350 and is producing what customers want and they are everywhere.

i went on the exact same flight from london to addis it was good and i personally had a good experience. I used to be a huge kenya airways over ethiopian fan but since KQ went downhill i went on ethiopian after years and i was happy about the new business class. overall had fun in MALAWI🇲🇼

You've got to keep ordering the fish to get improvements in dining. Some of the companies are good at transport, though there are other aspects like service and in-flight entertainment.

I've thought if I try Emirates, it would be on a. 5th freedom and hopefully in premium economy. May join your channel membership.

Dear Gabe ,you were amazed with the service on Emirates and very realistic in showing the level of your expectations meeting experience itself , but don't you think this only contributed to the fact that this is totally new aircraft and eventually the service will be back to normal which is not bad at all. The cabin looks extremely elegant and in my humble taste the only cabin that can match the cabin of China Airlines which I consider the best. Great review overall loved it. PS. Now Emirates A350 is your first love, second is Air India 🙈
