    Hi Gabe, I wanted to tell you how great your videos are, both on this channel and on the FR24 channel. I always thought that an aviation video had to be without music, less cuts, etc. but you showed me how comfortable and cozy you can feel when watching aviation videos. The Style of Music + The pictures are pure Enjoyment - Thank you very much, greetings from Nuremberg, Daniel (PS Nuremberg has a very, very nice little airport - come by sometime)

    Wonderful video again, Middle East carriers took over the customers from India when Air India went down with their services when it was a government entity. Moreover those under performed crews are about to retire or air India is to deploy them for ground services and recently they have acquired around 5000 young crews for replacement. Again at the end there will be a room for every airline companies, all will be growing eventually.

      Thanks for your review. $850 round trip? Wow for business class that’s a bargain and I would probably overlook a few shortcomings for that fare. The Gulf carriers would charge up to 3 times that amount. I’m a regular flyer on Air France and find their cost is competitive considering the high standard of the product however Air India sounds like a steal. 😊😊. Point to make about your video, you talked about the lounge but didn’t show us anything there?

    It's puzzling how a relatively new plane, the 787 is looking like a beat-up 747. Maintenance and care is clearly the issue, I hope they look after their products when it's fully rolled out

    I think Air India's biggest competitor will be IndiGo. They have a huge order for the Airbus A350, part of an overall order for 450 planes. Blimey.

    • @karlp8484
      @karlp8484 2 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, the A350 is the arch nemesis of the 787. Passengers and airlines both prefer it.

    • @airedition
      @airedition  2 месяца назад +1

      This will be interesting to see. Right now, I'm not completely convinced since their new business class seems sort of like "business lite", but that said I do understand that they are early on in their expansion plans and it will probably take some time to get it all sorted.

  • @mfflyer6576

    The 787 were already a mess in 2017 after a very short time in the sky. Things were falling apart then and pretty disgusting throughout the plane with stains and dirt everywhere you looked. The interior looked 15 years out of date then when freshly installed. I can't imagine how much grime is worn into them by now. Really hope the majority of passengers will be more considerate with the new planes and will they be cleaned to premium standards?

    • @airedition
      @airedition  22 дня назад

      I honestly think the 787s show wear & tear much more quickly because their interiors were built with cheaper materials. I don't have proof that this is true, but I've always felt as if the materials inside were very plasticky and flimsy, and it makes sense that they would also be more susceptible to grime and decay if so. That seems to be true of the 787 exterior too in some cases - have you seen some of the wings with all the delamination and speed tape covering them up? Makes 10 year old airframes look 40 years old. Kinda sad.

    • @mfflyer6576
      @mfflyer6576 21 день назад

      Certainly the Dreamliner feeling soon wore off after A350 came out but the mentioned issues I found with AI only and never noticed anything close with 10+ other airlines where I recall flying 787. Hopefully they continue to make better choices, the refits are done well and they dump the red carpets etc. After also some really bad domestic flights and seeing the mess so many of their planes were in then I lost confidence that they take care of safety related maintenance to high enough standards so I put them in the no fly list. The takeover will still mean 1000s of people remain who could take some time to end the old ways. They should have decided a date and done a full brand restart and a new name. No one has memories long enough to remember the good old days of AI.

    What makes an airline a global one is the consistency in service, tasty and well presented food , punctuality and good maintenance to their aircraft interiors and mechanics. Gabe your were soft in your judgment as always but for sure it shows you didn’t like the food 🫣

    • @airedition
      @airedition  2 месяца назад

      True! But even good airlines can have bad days so I like to give the benefit of the doubt as long as they weren’t outright hostile to me. What I like about Air India is that they are trying very hard to improve, so I’m maybe a little more accepting of flaws in the service. Some other airlines out there are bad and simply don’t care! Thanks for your comment, and for watching!

AFAIR, the distribution was Airbus: 140 A320neo, 70 A321neo, 20 A350-1000, and 20 A350-900, Boeing: 190 737 MAX, 20 787-9, and 10 777-9).

      The 777 retrofit may be in 2026, but at least they are going to replace some tapestry in the 777 like curtains and seat cushions as a stop gap solution early next year. Those jets are in dire need of a deep clean, and the Tatas are finally taking action.

      I'll give you another insight: Indians are generally not very worldly. They want familiarity. They want their Indian food and so many are first time travellers so they want a crew who can speak the language and guide/help them through the process. Countries where large Indian diaspora exist like UK, US,Canada : AI is most preferred by Indians for these reasons. Therefore, they have a sort of monopoly on those sectors leading up to complacency. Hope I'm making sense.

    Gabe I think air India is not at fault because they’re trying to improve as soon as possible but our first PM Jawaharlal Nehru’s airline act destroyed it and delayed privatisation attempts led to it’s worst performance with corruption ripping off though if you think why was it famous in 1970s and 1990s it was because of JRD Tata who led this airline even after Nationalisation and he was the first pilot to get license in India at that time but after his death the company went down and Middle East carrier took all it’s elite customers and corrupt people destroyed it though for food you should complain because food should be improved immediately along with amenities. Though this plane may be less than 10 years old also but thanks to them this plane became one of the worst 787 especially in full service airline. Though Gabe please try air India back in 2 years they will be ahead of middle eastern airlines because tata has a lot of technical expertise & hospitality experience they even own taj hotels.
