That was my pool. You did an excellent job. Thanks Eric! Best pool company hands down!
Thanks Scott I appreciate it. I'm glad you were happy!
@Brownbeartmb that is literally the most childish comment in this entire video. i mean if you're going to insult someone at least say why they're an asshole.
But hurt brown 😂😂😂
@Brownbeartmb uhhhhh?
S Harrison What a long and painful process! Was it 7-9 days? My clients are happy when I do it in 2-3 days. Day-1 shock it good to kill all algae. Day-2 add chemical which will drop everything visible to the bottom. Day-3 Water is crystal clear with all the filth at the bottom. Vacuum to waste and within 1 hour ready to swim. No need to run client pump for days and wash filters etc.
Excellent explanations on how to correct your pool. Very helpful.
Good job man. I've been a pool guy for 2 years and you cleared the pool up perfectly. I love small pools. Way less chemicals. I might have drained it. Its just easier sometimes. But saving water is good too.
I appreciate the kind words Bsizzle! Yes there are many ways to clear up the pools! Read the comments, a lot of people have better ways I guess haha.
Been struggling with mine and you explained everything very well. I feel like these chemical companies all have different orders to the process just so I waste a bunch, but your explanation of why you’re doing each step made perfect sense.
Thank you Russell. You are absolutely right. If you read the comments you'll see tons of different suggestions and that people can do it faster, etc etc. There are faster ways but the point of this video was to teach the Lehman how to do it without special equipment and with a system that is not ideal for doing the quicker ways. Thanks for watching and I'm glad it helped!
Excellent tutorial and refresher course for all pool owners and techs, new and old alike. A shout out to you for that shark scare! Quite the testimony for the clarity of the water. That is what every pool owner should strive for. 🏊🏻♀️~~~ Great upload. 👍🏻 Thanks
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the kind words. A lot of haters on this video so glad to see someone enjoyed it :)
Great video. I started a pool service cleaning and this really helps a lot. I just recently got a customer that has a green pool. But I left the cartridge in and cleaned it afterwards. I will sort of start over remove the cartridge and let it run for 24 hours without it with the shock and liquid chlorine. It is a 18000 gallon pool
Thanks Luis! I'm glad you liked it and it helped. Congrats on starting a pool business. If you need help I am creating a consultation packages that allow people reach out when they need me and a few other professionals that are in the group. Please let me know if you're interested. I'd love to have you on board. Have a great day.
Eric you are awesome. I'm on day 3 of my first green to clean and the pool is just gorgeous Thank you!
I’m glad it helped. Thank you for watching.
Very nice walk through. You hit all the major points.
Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
Pool Control Rules!!! hahaha sweet video man. How bout videos on how to properly clean pools
Thank you so much! Never heard to remove the filter grids.. That should make a huge difference! So thankful!
You’re very welcome. Good luck in getting your pool squared away.
Great advice. If you are doing this to your own pool and you want it done faster you can keep the filter running from the start and backwash/clean the filter when the pressure increases 10% over a clean filter. Secondly I wouldn't add calcium to my pool as I don't like the scaling as a result so I just use bleach (Home Depot brand has 50% more active chlorine vs. chlorox as of today- around 10%) I use the trouble free pool method and I can clean it up to sparkling in two days but this does require many many backwashes and chemical (pH and chlorine adds) treatments.
Thanks so much for this great detailed video. I couldn't get the green out of my pool because my DE filter kept getting clogged up with gunk reducing water circulation. Running without the filter solved this problem. I didn't even know I could do this so I really appreciate the tip!
Daniel M you’re welcome. I’m glad to help. The problem you experienced is why I recommend this step. Take care and good luck!
Chlorine King Pool Service what is the best thing to do with the cartridge filter in the meantime?
Clean it immediately and let it dry?
I’ve never left mine out for too long.
But I am going to definitely try this.
Thanks!
Damn dude...u did ur thing...like a master Jedi u handled the situation like a pro! Thank u for sharing!
Makes me wish I could afford a pool! 😁 Awesomeness!!!!!! 👍👋
I bought a foreclosure in January. The pool isnt even green, its brown. Neighbors said it's been neglected for 2 years now. I can not wait to revisit this video once I research pump/filter revival and make sure that still works. Great work.
Thanks Patrick! Keep me posted along the way I look forward to hearing all about it. You can join our forum too at www.chlorinekingpools.com/forum to post in there!
I recommend doing a drain and clean if its a possibility. Reason is, sometimes you can have a lot of objects at the bottom that can get sucked in and mess up your pump. I once did a drain on a neglected pool that had nuts and bolts, silverware, broken plants, dead frogs, tree branches and even some rebar at the bottom. Since then, if its a long time neglected pool I only do a drain and clean.
Great job, excellent video. That's the way it should be done.
Thank you sir. I appreciate you watching!
Thanks you've really helped me understand things a bit more
You're welcome. I'm glad it helped.
Nice job on this video.. I like your idea of removing the filter and making sure that the ph level is low so the cal hypo has a full potential for killing the algae.. Great video and explanations
Thanks Dave! I've found that by doing that it guarantees that I will have the best chance of killing all of the algae on the first dose. Take care and thanks for watching!
What about the alkalinity? I thought this should be checked when the ph is that high.
Yes sir you are a master at cleaning that mess up, thank you I learned a lot
Thanks for watching
I don’t have a pool. This is just satisfying
You should get one. They're a lot of fun!
Don't get one. A hot tub is plenty and much more relaxing.
@Steve Klemetti, It's worth it, although my husband would dissagree with me. Beats sitting in the house on a hot day or burning up outside. It's a little vacation in your back yard.
Steve Klemetti not if you can do it all yourself!
Steve Klemetti it’s so easy
Excellent tutorial! Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
I like watching this stuff even thou I work for apartment maintenance and already pool certified at age 20. Just to see how others do it differently
I'm the same way. Always trying to learn! Thanks for watching.
really great video! Super helpful!
You're very welcome. I'm glad it helped you!
Probably best video on the issue I've seen. Nice tip on removing cartridges!
Thanks I really appreciate it!
Amazing Video! Thank for the tip to run on "recirculate" bypassing the DE Filter
Thanks Carlos. You're welcome! Good luck!
Great information.
I have 3, 3-foot cartridges. Not a sand or salt pool - just water and shock. I was wondering if you think it is ok to remove these types of cartridges at first?
Great video thanks I just purchased a home with a pool that's been sitting awhile and it's full of algae .
Thank you Donnell. Please comment if you need help with your pool. Congrats on the home purchase and good luck :)
I learned so much from this video. You're awesome!!!
I do have a question. I've got a above ground pool & had it for 5 years, how do I know when I need to replace or add more sand? I've never added or replaced the sand & just had concerns if the sand is cleaning my pool correctly.
I'm glad it helped Lisa. The sand filter should have a sand change once every 4-5 years, so it's probably due. It's very possible if you are noticing a constant cloudiness that it's possible the sand needs to be changed. Personally, I'd forgo that and put in a cartridge filter. Much easier and better filtration to boot. Have a great weekend.
Great explanation of the process.
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it and I’m glad it helped you!
Wonderful video. Thank you for taking the time for all of us DIYers.
You said that you scooped out the junk at the bottom of the pool, I was wondering if you just took the net and scooped the stuff out or if you used something else.
Did you use any flocculent or is that just not necessary. I have some natural chemistry stuff, and then just a clarifier. if I need to use some.
Finally, when you vacuumed did it fill up the new filter and raise the pressure?
Thanks again
Thanks Richard. Yes I just took my Red Baron (course net) and scooped out the bottom of the pool the best I could. The less stuff down there the better the chlorine will work at killing the algae! Have a great day and good luck!
Yo !!! Think about the PH sensors in the salt cell before you add a chemical with high/low PH to the skimmer.
When do you start putting the stabilizer in if you don’t mind me asking?
Thanks for the video, it certainly was helpful. It may be helpful to say where you’re located since weather will affect the recovery time. I’m in Houston, it rains every other day, this seems to delay getting a crystal clear pool after algae growth has taken hold. Thanks again for you time and effort!
You're welcome. I should start mentioning where I'm at but figured it's easy enough to find out. Thanks for your post and good luck over there in Houston!
Chlorine King Pool Service so where are You at lol
so how long between acid treatment before you neutralize it with caustic?
Cool video I'm getting a pool today yeah yay
Awesome David. Check out my other vids to help learn about it! Thanks for the comment.
I just found you and subscribed. For the first time ever I will be running the filter without a cartridge as you demonstrated. Why is my starting psi at 20?
If it’s not normally that high then it could be an old element. Even after cleaning there’s only so much that will come out. If you replace it you should see the pressure come down.
Why are these videos so satisfying
Hey Casey! I think, for me anyways, is seeing the massive change from nasty water to perfectly viable swimming water. Thanks for watching!
Watching anything go from messy or dirty to clean and spotless is always saisfying for us humans. We inadvertedly enjoy conquering chaos. I think that's why
Great hat and advice.
Thanks Joe. You should see the new hats. They are awesome. Take care.
You make some good videos!
Thanks! I appreciate it.
I use some pool cleaning nets from The lazy sharks (loved the name)... and their deal is pretty good.
Hey Mark thanks for the comment. I've heard of them but have never used them. I'd be interested in hearing more about it. Have a great day.
Interested in knowing if you still do the same process today or changed it up some. Thank you !
I haven’t really done green pools since that video but I’d keep the process the same. The only thing I’d consider doing differently is introduce floc if the conditions are right. It will make for a much quicker clean up.
Very helpful
Thank you
You're very welcome! I'm glad it could help you.
Chlorine King,
Tis the season in Arizona for Green pools and I am getting a bunch of calls for green to cleans. One question I have when you're adding chlorine at every visit are you just adding liquid?
Thanks,
Roger
Haha Roger same here in Florida :). I seem to have a great reaction of using a combination of liquid and Cal Hypo. I treated a friends pool was had a light, but stubborn, green to it. First day I added cal-hypo only and didn't see much of a change. The next day I added a little more cal hypo and liquid. Next day it was perfect. Could I have not added enough the first day? Possibly. I've always added liquid and CH on the really bad pools and have had great results. Have a good day.
Help! Got pool balanced, ph, a little low on alkalinity, blasted it with algaecide and chlorine, ran the pump without filter for about 16 hours....pool still dark green! No change in color! What am I doing wrong?
I've found sometimes that my methods change, or at least evolve, in some areas over time. Do you find this to be true in regards to green pools? Is your process the same now as it was in 2017?
For example, I use a flocculant to settle everything (after the algae is dead, of course) and then vacuum all the garbage to waste. It's been a real time saver for me. And the time I save more than offsets the cost of the floc. Or have you tried the flocculant approach and then abandoned it for the method presented? Just curious.
Great question Mooky. Yes my processes are always evolving. I would probably do some things a little different today, but that as actually my last real green pool that I took on. I’ve done some half hearted ones where it wasn’t really a green pool, just a couple of shock treatments.
I used floc before and had success with it. I found that the conditions need to be right and to make sure to not add too much when dosing they pool. The floc method is awesome for covered pools where you don’t have to worry about a bunch of debris stirring it up.
Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Is there a reason you didn’t flock it after killing the algae? Just curious. This was satisfying to watch. Good job! 😊
The main reason is there was not a solid vac to waste line on this equipment. All this pad had was a ball valve which would let some water pass through into the filter. So either you destroy the filter or treat it chemically. This pool was one reason I built a secondary cart system just so I can vac to waste.
I have a question, I just pressure washed my pool after draining it when it was black, And I just wanted to know if it was normal to have it a bit cloudy after? and also if I should clean my sand filter.
How long was the pool sitting for? It's possible when you pressure washed the pool you pulled some surface off with it so when you filled it the water got cloudy. Did you rebalance the pool? Just backwash the sand filter, add some clarifier, and it should clear up. You could also flock it and vac to waste to get rid of the cloudiness.
good and helpful video
Thanks Douglas. I'm glad it was helpful to you. Good luck!
coool i loved it
You're very welcome Oswald. I'm glad you liked it. Stay tuned for more videos. Have a great day!
Should I remove the DE filter if there’s no recirculate setting? It’s a single speed pump hooked up to old de filter
Is there a pool/spa boost setting?
Is that a 100% nylon brush your using or the 50/50 . Looking to pick one up for weekly brushing
I use 100% nylon 99% of the time. The only exception is a concrete start up.
Do you charge per visit or do a package rate for algae removal? I’m sure curious about how you would price it
I do a range based on how many visits I think it's going to be. That way the client has a best and worst case scenario. However, if I'm wrong and go past the worst case I'll eat that in hopes to acquire the client afterwards.
Only question I have is...isn't adding shock directly through the skimmer dangerous if they have a chlorinator/tablet feeder? I've heard of explosions happening due to this. Just curious....
Hey bud, yes in extreme and rare occurrences it can be. This system didn’t have one. There are a couple of things you can do to mitigate it.
1) Remove the tabs from feeder. 2) Open the tab feeder to max circulation. 3) After removing the tablets close the feeder knob off (or as low as possible) and then flush the feeder tube with a hose until it overflows. Let that run for a few minutes. 4) Remove the plastic tubing and let the cal hypo run through the system and back into the pool before reinstalling. That will limit cal hypo into the feeder.
Keeping the system running 24/7 also helps migrate the issue. Use at your own risk or course. Those are just some ideas to help.
Wish ya'll did above ground pools. I have tried everything except draining it
I just want to say thank you!
Thank you so much for mentioning the filter. We have a problem with pump not flowing correctly. Because of that my pool is green since we though pump jad to be replaced but after taking the filter out as you advise we realized maybe our filter was clogged. Our pump is running strom without filter and that gives me hope. After 3 hours it turned cloudy blue. I used muriacid acid LOTS of it since it was super DARK green. And lots lots of chlorine 10 gallons! tomorrow I'll check and see what ill have to do next but for now i want to say THANK YOU!
You’re very welcome and I’m glad the tips helped. Circulation is key in algae prevention and even more important when you’re trying to kill it. Good luck and keep me posted. Have a great day.
@@ChlorineKingPoolService great it's clear today. Yesterday i checked ph and added more acid and chlorine and today its clear. I just have a question in something i need help with. Sometime ago i used from green to blue and ever since then i have this gray thin layer on bottom of pool. I know it happened because i was suposed to back wash the pool but at the time i did not know and i dont have the back wash option on my pump. The particles are too small for the filter to catch it. How can i get rid of it? What can i put so they come up to surface and i can clean it or they become thicker so the filter can catch it. I have over 20k g pool i cant afford to drain it. If you can advise on what to do ill be super grateful.
Thanks
by chlorine are you meaning add more of the shock..please help the person in the back row..I'm on day 2..I left the filter out for 24 hours..cleaned filter(barely new) now put filter back in brushed but what chemical do I use now..please ty
Shock is a process not a product. But yes, powdered chlorine or liquid would be great if needed. If the chlorine goes under a 10 I generally would add more to keep it killing the algae. Once you have the blueish/clioudy look then you can let it lower to normal levels. At that point the algae is gone.
I have a sand pump pool, so the 1st day i just set to recirculate , right? How long after I put the acid in, can i shock it for the first time? I have been battling this all summer and I have not had a clean pool all summer,, green- and the pool store had me buying everything under the sun,, not happy about that,, but going to try this now-
Yes, recirculate for the first day.
Pool was green mutt & stinky yesterday. I’m doing the BBB method. My chlorine was reading 1.0, my PH was surprisingly on target. I had to bring alkalinity up 30 ppm. I puts a lot of chlorine & baking soda yesterday & got it to a milky white this morning. I haven’t tested it yet since I went to look at pool @ 5 a.m... It took forever yesterday to figure calculations on how much of the BBB ingredients I needed. I thought I was in chemistry again. I’ve got above ground, 13,600 gallon pool. Is there a calculator that I can enter my readings & it tell me how much of the chemicals I need to add?
Orenda has a nice app that will allow you to enter your readings and then it tells you how much to add based on the targets you enter. Good luck with that!
How do you measure the acids for the portion to the water . What kind acid your put in the water
You can use the orenda app to get exact measurements. The acid used in the video is muriatic acid.
Great job and great video. Just a quick question. My pool is concrete with rubber paint. Would that withstand a treatment like this or do you suggest a lower chemical amount because of the paint ?
Dave Davids thank you for the kind words. Definitely take it easier with the paint. You still need to keep the chlorine high but keep it away from the “nuke” level lol.
Thanks for the quick reply. Here in the Caribbean algae are a big problem. Grow at an incredible rate.
No problem. Good luck.
Great job man! I pretty much follow the same routine. What did you charge for that job though? Asking for a friend. Lol
That's a great question
Authority Pools You can ask the homeowner, He’s the first comment! 😊
How much do you normally charge for this process 10000 gallon pool?
I have had a little Black Algae. About 3 instances in the last 3 weeks. I have a small 7500 gallon, white plaster salt pool. What is the best way to get rid of black algae for good?
Is it in small spots or heavy amounts?
1) You need to scrub the gelatinous coating protecting the black algae spore with a metal brush. You can reach down and feel that it's "slimy". The brush will remove this and expose it.
2) Then depending on the amount you could either sprinkle some dichlor on it, or rub it with a trichlor tablet. If you rub it with a tablet you should see it disappear almost immediately.
3) Give the pool a good shock afterwards to finish them off.
Good luck!
great channel
Thank you very much. A lot more to come as well. Thanks for watching 👍
once pool is clear, what do you like to set the timer for how long to run each day?
An old school train of thought is 1 hour for every 10 degrees hot it is. I like to aim for 10-12 in summertime and 7-10 in winter. Here in floeida anyways. I hope this helps.
So u ever use liquid chlorine bleach instead of the pool shock? Is it effective,, Ive spent so much money on shock , my husband is not happy,, But i havent tried the acid first,, going to do it exactly as u have shown but was wondering about the chlorine bleach
Hello. I like to use both actually. It seems to do a better job versus just one product by itself. Yes, bring the pH down because chlorine is 50% less effective at 7.8 than it is at 7.2 so it's a must to bring it down. Thanks for watching.
After you flock, do you put the phosphate chemical in before a clarifier?? Great videos by the way! Been following your steps.
Hey Kimberly. I’m glad it’s helping. If I’m dealing with phosphates I try to take care of that first. If I decide to use clarifier I don’t put it in until the pool looks a cloudy white. That way I know the algae is dead and it’ll help the filter catch the cloudy particulates. I hope this helps.
My pool looks exactly the same, a mix of algae and pollen, plus my phosphates are over 2500. Would I have to use Phosfree in this process, and at what stage would I add the phosfree? Before the acid?.....
Thanks
Thanks for the question. I've never used phosphate remover during a green cleanup. Once the pool is clear I'd consider adding a treatment just to catch any left over from the cleanup. Just be cautious some variants of phosphate remover have been known to clog the filter. Good luck!
it"s interesting that you don't use a pool vacuum. This is a good way to combat algae for people that don't have a pool vacuum.
Leah Farber right You would think he had one being a pool cleaning company
Hi eric, i shocked my pool with 4.5 lb of cal hypo. It a cloudy green color and has been for a few days. Chlorines at 10, ph at 7, ALK at 90.
How do i clear it up? Is it.ok to run the pump continuously for days at a time. Im worried itll burn up, it gets quite hot.
I ran the pump on filter for 8 hrs a day for 2 days so far.
Thanks.😊
If it’s cloudy green you need more chlorine. What type of filter do you have? Do you see circulation in the pool?
Keep the pump running and filter clean if you have it filtering. The water will help keep the motor cool.
The more you run the pump and the cleaner you have the filter the quicker it will clear up. But you really want the cloudy blue look. If it’s cloudy green the algae still isn’t dead. ☠️
I have a de filter but I don't seem to have a setting for recirculate. I only have the regular setting and the backwash setting. Any suggestions for getting my pool cleaned? It clogs up the filter pretty bad after only a few hours.
One thing you can do for the first chemical circulation period is to backwash the filter and then don't put DE back into it. If you don't have DE a lot of stuff will pass through that would normally clog up. I would then install a diverter valve before the filter (or upgrade your multi port valve that has a waste and recirculate mode) and vac out as much as you can to waste. Then put it back into filter mode and catch all the small stuff. I hope this helps.
cute little pool great company
Thanks Thomas! I appreciate the kind words!
I assume that by treating the pool, the pipes leading into and out of the filter will be cleaned as well?
Hey Jon, yes that's correct!
Thanks, Great job by the way.
The deck looks like it needs pressure washing .Do you offer that as well if the customer were to request it?
Pierre Lo yes we do offer that but we don’t advertise publicly. I’ll send an email to all my clients saying that we can take care of pool decks if they need it.
Ok awesome !Im in the process of starting my own pool business in Florida as well.Your videos are very informative and there giving me the confidence to push forward and start my business.Im hoping it takes off I'm tired of working for people.
Any idea how much chlorine to add to 26 foot 52 inch index pool with sand filter
Orenda has an app that allows you to punch in your readings and targets, then tells you exactly what to add. Good luck!
No algaecide/yellow treat? Steve in Spring Hill
I didn't see a need. It needed to be nuked so just used chlorine. Thanks for watching!
Should the chemicals be added at night so they don't burn up in the sun?
That would be ideal especially in a pool with lower stabilizer like this one had. However, I was doing a few of them at the same time and it's inevitable that you'll have to add them during the morning/daytime depending on your schedule. For that particular pool I was doing 2 visits per day so that helped as well.
I believe I’ve heard not to add liquid chlorine and cal hypo on the same day? Is this wrong? I’ve always used liquid chlorine but I do have some cal hypo on hand
There's nothing wrong with adding liquid and cal hypo on the same day. What I wouldn't add is cal hypo and bicarb. That will create a chemical reaction that causes a cloudy "sidewalk chalk" to be created and takes forever to get out of the pool.
I have a. Vinyl pool. At look green. We already took samples to the store. They say the water is good. But in the pool looks green .I already scrubbed it. Still look green..any suggestions?
ggg's fan you should see if they have testing kits to rent or to buy and they will have instructions on how to start and also go somewhere else
Bravo! I’d rather use cal-hypo then liquid too.
Thanks Kyle. I love using a combo of both in all honesty! Have a great day!
Is a robotic pool cleaner better than a suction side please let me know what the difference is
Each has their pros and cons. The suction side cleaners are great for screened in pools but not so great for uncaged pools with large trees over it. That's where it would be beneficial for a robotic cleaner. IMHO a robotic cleaner is overkill for a screened in pool. Hope this helps!
I have high hard water de filter 33,000 gal pool I need help it’s green so I add what first and how long to wait to add the other stuff etc please help
I'd add the acid to knock down the pH. Wait an hour or so then annihilate with with chlorine. Keep the pump moving. Put the filter in recirculate for the first 24 hours, then once the algae is dead start filtering. Good luck!
Hello, so when u open up a pool after being full of green, if we circulate water, not filter. We wont b wasting so much time, right???
Well, if the pool is green I always like to bypass the filter for the first day so I can guarantee the chemicals will get mixed in the best possible. If the filter bogs down in the first 20 minutes of run time, and the pool doesn't circulate well, then you can lose time having to add more chemicals on your next visit to kill all of the algae. Once the pool is a whiteish blue (algae dead) then I start filtering it all out. You could also, at that point, add some First Aid and it'll start clearing up the cloudy water.
Chlorine King Pool Service thank u sooo Mich. I did do this. & after about 3 days. I have clean blue water, with a bit on bottom to vacuum. Thank u again
ok..I'm at day 2..looks cloudy..ok..but what chemical did u add at day 2..please..like WHAT CHEMICAL S..IM FOLLOWING DAY BY DAY PLEASE HELP..I cleaned filter brushed pool really good but what chemical do I use now..ty ty
You want to dose the pool to keep the pH around 7.2 to keep the chlorine as effective as possible and then keep the chlorine around a 10. This will help keep killing the algae. I think on day 2 all I added was liquid because the ph was good from the first day of dosing. I hope this helps.
so will you have to vacuum at some point or will it just totally clear up..thank you..I'm desperately asking..I drained my intire pool..filled it..about 3 weeks later pool was blue but cloudy..turned everything off vacuum..then it rained for 3 days now my pool looks similar to this one..gonna add muriatic acid..scrub..leave filter out..but please help..thank you!!!
I also have new filter and pump(motor)..2.0 ..I wanted an 3.0 but money ..but when I start pump it goes straight to 20 psi???..thank you thank you
What are your chemical readings. The pool cleared out with a vacuuming but there wasn’t a lot of debris in the pool with it being screened in. It sounds like you don’t have stabilizer and low chlorine because of the rain and lack of stabilizer.
It all depends on the size of the filter, pump, how it’s plumbed, how many lines are opened, etc. it’s all about hydraulics for what causes the starting psi of the filter to be where it is. Given the pool is clear, filter is new/clean and lines are clear among other variables.
Is your process still the same, or has it changed? Any quicker ways of getting the pool clear?
It really depends on the pool. Chemically treating it has stayed the same. If possible floc or alum can bring very fast changes as long as the system is set up to Vac to waste. I hope this helps.
I have a sand filter, I didn’t run it on recirculating, did I break my pump?
As long as it turns on and is circulating water I’d say you’re ok. Did you backwash your filter?
Help me please. I have a vinyl pool that will not clear. Shocked multiple times and when I attempt to vacuum I am fighting a mud like substance at the bottom. I have a sand filter and a 40k gallon pool. I am currently draining the pool so I can refill it with clean water, then start the shocking/cleaning process again. When i vacuum it seems like i am mixing that mud with any water with little to no results..what should I do?
Hey Daniel,
I'd be careful draining a vinyl pool. I've been told they can come off the tracks if you aren't careful and the liner may wrinkle. The sand filters delays clean outs because the filtration isn't as strong as a cartridge or DE. What I would do is kill the algae, flock it to the bottom, and then vacuum to waste. That way you're not draining your pool and risking damaging it while not waiting on a sand filter to clean the water.
What do you charge for that
9 Visits? Wow. How much does a green to clean pool cost ?
Being that I live in Australia every second house has a pool I've noticed that's the same in Florida but I'm curious as to why everyone has a patio enclosing the pool is it to stop alligators
Natalie Luders it looks good and gives You something to lay or sit on
@@amber_Forever16 youve misconstrued what i was saying majority of Floridian pool owners have big enclosed mosquitos covers ,patios house over there pools whats it for ?
@@natalieluders378 I have lived in Florida 37 years and I'd be happy to explain.. Screened in porch or patio is a must in Florida. We have lots of trees/leaves that would wreak havoc on open pools., summer time= mosquitoes, lovebugs, gators, iguanas in south Florida. Screens protect u from the elements, plus people have grilles, bars, patio furniture, Tvs etc on their patios. So screen protects all that stuff.

Hey Tamara! I’m so glad the video helped. I’d there’s a topic you want covered please let me know. Have a great holiday!
Silly question, but how do you lower the Ph if its to high?
Just use some muriatic acid. That’ll lower it.
I rarely see someone that knows what they are doing. You got it. My only diff. Would have been to floc it and turn pump off before leaving. This way on the second trip i can vac. To waste and be done. Good info tho.
Thanks for the kind words. When I filmed it, it was cold out and floc doesn't do all that well when it's cold. That is sure enough the quickest way. Thanks for watching.
Hey Eric, I am currently working on a pool that was black, it’s at about 7-8 days now. The pool is still very cloudy and seems like a lot of dead algae still hanging out on the bottom. Do you have any tips for me?
What type of filter do you have and do you have a vac to waste option?
Chlorine King Pool Service WOW! Thanks for the quick reply. I did see your video with the vac to waste pump. I was considering picking up a pump to have a waste pump set up. It is a pentair clean &clear 100 cartridge.
How big of a pool?
Chlorine King Pool Service The pool is 16-18,000gal
Isnt it better to vacuum the algae off of the walls and floor before u brush it??
Brush it to get it suspended in the water so the chlorine can kill it. Then you can vacuum the dead algae off the bottom once the water is clear.
hello wondering if your still doing it the same way ?
Hey Nowhere, I would if I was still doing green pools. I really haven't done but 1 or 2 green pools since this video. I just pass them along now. If you check my website, chlorinekingpools.com/why-us/our-work/, you'll see dozens I've done using this method. Big or small, all different filter types, has worked beautifully. Not as quick as the floc method but some equipment pads aren't set up to do that effectively either. Good luck!
I have alot of dirt that fell in my pool from backyard dirt project. Alot. What tool do you suggest to get this out.
There are a couple of options. First, you could vac to waste if you have that option on your equipment. If not, then you can get a portable pump and attach a vacuum to that. Do you have a sand or DE filter by chance?
@@ChlorineKingPoolService DE filter
Put the filter in waste mode and then vacuum it out of the pool. Keep in mind you’ll lose water as you do this. So, top the pool off before you start.
probably won't see this, but I'm curious how you charge for this kind of work. Interested in getting into the pool industry
@precision cutz I charged around $600 for that back then. Today I’d charge probably $750 or so. Green pools aren’t a great money maker but are a gateway to things like repairs and weekly service. I hope this helps.
