    hey man I did this job for years with nobody showing any love or appreciation so I'm going to subscribe just because I understand your struggle.
    ... ever cleaned a pool with furniture and appliances in it?
    I've done a few pretty nice turn around. One for a home where they did all the rock/tile work and dropped all of the debris inside the pool it was probably about full ton or more of tile, rock and plaster chunks removed by shovel/bucket. The returns were never glued and the main drain had no grate. Every step and the skimmer had a leak. The corpse of something stuck inside the drain pipe. All other startups and turnarounds are easy af compared to this one. I was grinding hard af so no video regretfully.

    • @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV
      @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV  4 года назад +11

      Expect the unexpected, to be Wow’d, and to struggle & work hard. Tips: go work for a pool company for 2-4 yrs, in yr 1 get your CPO License, in year two learn the pool business from your current employer, yr 3-4 study & take test for the CPC license. Then apply for license and seek to either advertise for pool service or buy a route. If you go about it any other way, you’ll lengthen the time frame of success and your road will be harder.

    How do you prevent pool pop out if the pool is super green and you can't check the hydrostatic valve. I want to start providing this service (10 years in pool business) but I'm deathly afraid of the pop out. Any insight? I also am in Florida.

    • @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV
      @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV  Год назад +1

      Pop outs usually happen when the water table is extremely high and a pool is left empty for a long period of time (how much time?, I don’t know and difficult to gage.). Theses jobs we typically drain ‘em, clean ‘em, and fill them back up the same day or within a 24-30hr time period. I start the filling process as soon as the clean out is completed. Job typically takes 6-8hrs start to finish and then fill commences. Try 1 and good luck

    Thank you for the video! My pool is doin ok but pitted in places and has not been touched cosmetically in 20 years (said previous homeowner) just chemically maintained. Should I get it replastered or resurfaced or is that the same process? I don't want to spend a ton of money but I need smoother less rough walls.

    • @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV
      @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV  4 года назад +2

      Yes, if your surface is pitted and rough all over then it’s time to have a new plastering job done. The most economical pool plaster are the Quartz finishes. Brands such as Quartzscapes, DiamondBrite, & Florida Gem. Each have similar color schemes but their own unique shades of those color schemes. DiamondBrite & Florida Gem are both a pre-mixed bagged material, while Quartzscapes is a separated plaster that all parts that make up the plaster is mixed together on the job site. Within all three plasters, the darker the shade colored quartz finishes (meaning the dyed bases, ex. Tahoe Blue, Midnight Blue) are higher in price. More economical choices are the white base plasters with the colored quartz.

    • @theblissster
      @theblissster 4 года назад

      Another pool guy here, make sure you're knowledgeable on pool maintenance and water chemistry/common water problems. I'm mainly on the retail side with equipment and chemicals but reading up online to get real familiar with what goes into sanitization, how the plumbing works, solving common problems, etc. helps a bunch.

    • @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV
      @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV  4 года назад +4

      If you have never don’t this type of Jon before, I would highly recommend you finding someone who’s done this before. There is a lot of precautions you have to ensure is done prior to any pool drain and clean out. You wouldn’t want to make what could potentially be a 30K-150k+ issue on your hands. Not sure where job is located, but all I’ll say is Pool POP OUT! Major problem. Technically this job should be done by a Certified State Licensed Pool Contractor that has business insurance.

    • @cathiwim
      @cathiwim 3 года назад +1

      Sounds like the owners are trying to cheap out the job. If not done properly it could get you injured or killed. Please do something else or work with a certified poolcleaner. Just saying.

    • @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV

    • @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV
      @EliteSwimmingPoolsTV  3 года назад +1

      There are paint products specifically made for pools, but I highly Do Not Recommend pools to be painted. The mere lack of durability to pool chemicals over the duration period from when it is painted, pool will need to have a new paint coating done about every 2-3 years on average, the filtration and equipment issues that will occur with a painted pool just to name a few. Oh and if you ever decide to get the pool renovated with a plaster material, you will have to incur the cost of stripping every inch of paint from the surface because the plaster will NOT bond to a painted surface.
