As a BTS fan I didn't mind that much about them not getting the award. Honestly I would prefer them to get the award with a record that really resembles with their signature.
Agreed it was just the explicit manipulation of Army and the using of BTS for me. The hardest part to question is, will BTS ever get nominated for the recognition of their hard work and record that resembles them (one that will most definitely be in Korean) or will they keep getting nominated to exploit them for views?
THANK. YOU. I am sorry but give a Grammy to a Persona, Tear or such jut not the last albums c'mon... It was so much mainstream and felt like they tried to stay themselves AND sell out mainstream watered down music at the same time (which disappointed me even if I liked some songs). I hope they release a full-on Bangtan signature pure songs without the need for flat mainstream music to appeal to everyone. (No offense, it's just that their pure BTS sound is what makes them so interesting and they pride themselves for it even. It's disappointing to see the slow selling out to get more).
Oh my God so true. I like Dynamite but it’s not them. I hope they grow out of it and forget about a Grammy, honestly. I believe the grammys look down on them or what the academy see on the surface. Hysterical girls, sensual dance moves, boys in make up, pop tunes, non english singers and that is all they see. I know i know they are so much more but I honestly do not see it happening.
This was Taylor’s first Grammy attendance/performance/win since 2016. Personally I think folklore was worthy of its win. Other albums were too, obviously, but of these nominees I’m happy with it. ROTY on the other hand...
People should learn new jokes, because saying she got the prize because she always win is lazy. She truly doesn't win every time. She actually won 1 in each decade (09,15,20)
I mean RED is an amazing album but RAM was way better. Plus she wasn't robbed, another really good record won the album. Not like the whole 1989/TPAB thing anyways.
I think the Grammy not giving BTS the award for best perfomance with dynamite yet putting their perfomance of dynamite last was so explicitly using them to keep their viewership, and so shameless of them it's actually funny I get not giving them the award, dynamite was not the most elaborate nor their best song, but at least try to act as if you didn't milk the shit out of them and their popularity bruh
Giving them one nomination in a category where they’re the only actual group, using them to advertise the show, and then not giving them the Grammy plus putting their performance 2nd to last was the most shameless I’ve ever seen someone use them for clout lmao. Dynamite is what it is, a bright disco pop song w/ basic lyrics, but it still had the best sales and relevancy out of all the songs. Just overall weird.
The only part of this grammy awards I enjoyed were when BTS didn't win and half the viewers of the livestream left. Not to mention that their 13 minutes unannounced Vlive gain just a million less viewers than the grammy tv event or the "main event"...
And this was why 99% of their fans were mad. BTS stayed up from 2am and had no idea when the performance was going to be. The song was cut short. The producers kept milking them end ended up not even giving them a decent time slot.
I refuse to watch the Grammys because they only recognize rock bands like Coldplay, Green Day, Maroon 5. Weak! Too much focus on hip hop, r&b, and pop. Yes I know I sound like a Boomer.

Yes, rain on me is great, but I think most BTS fans (myself included) are more upset that the Grammy’s blatantly exploited BTS and then didn’t give them the win. Having them as one of two performances in the main show not nominated for a major award is already kind of exploitive but they really just bring in BTS for the numbers without any plans to recognize their music. Dynamite is one of my least fave BTS songs and they should have been recognized for anything MOTS7 related.
I agree that Dynamite is not the best BTS song, however, the category name was PERFORMANCE. Maybe Dynamite isn't as good musically as the others, but performance wise it is the best by far.
@@BandedMetagrossMeteorMash Dynamite is by far BTS's worst single. The only reason it got nominated is because the Grammys are a bunch of old white men who are way too closed minded to nominate something that isn't English or Spanish.
@dolma Dynamite was written by thier American record distributor, specifically to be a number 1 hit for BTS. Probably in the hope that a Grammy nomination would follow. @dalan n isn't wrong. A truly BTS song for staying cheerful through the pandemic, would've been like Telepathy or Anpanman, which are great songs. Not like Dynamite which is okay at best. I wish they had written their own song, and worked with a good writer to translate it to English.
BTS stans on Twitter are so mad and it’s honestly sad to see. Some of them are literally sending death threats. I generally like BTS’ discography, but come on. Dynamite was mid. It did numbers sure, but this isn’t the BBMAs. That aside, these stans really need to go outside.
Some fans are annoying for sure but many I know are more mad at the fact the Grammy’s used the fans viewership for both the pre ceremony live stream (1.1 mil live viewers, less than 400k after the category of duo/group passed) and the main show having 5 pre commercial announcements stating “10 minutes until BTS” or “BTS performing next” and then actually having them perform 2nd to last. That’s what annoyed many of the fans the most, they lost oh well next time they may be nominated for one of their non English songs (highly doubt it but...).
Good for them for being nominated, their music is fine without being outstanding but they work hard. Their fans, on another hand, are so pity tho it’s insane. They went to compare the sales of Dynamite with the other nominees to justify the fact they should have won... They don’t seem to be understanding or care about the purpose of these awards, they just DEMAND that they win, no matter the reason, the context, the eligibility. Their career and music is a competition to have with other fandoms and the industry in general, they’re just mad they lost at something.
@@c_md I agree partially what you wrote, especially with the fans and the need to give data comparisons to both songs, but ultimately all the eligibility criteria they have for the entirety of the show is at the fault of the Grammys and the recording academy itself. We all know it’s based mainly upon being favored by the 12k+ voting members they have and it’s widely known that this award show is highly both unpredictable and predictable on who gets nominated and awarded. I can’t speak for the 10mil+ fans that BTS has since obviously I don’t interact with all of them, but the few I do, we are just as annoyed by the hot heads that frequent Twitter wars online and such and we level headed ones can’t do anything about that and our annoyance differs depending on who you ask within the fandom. The same way we can’t all wrangle the attitudes of everyone we interact with in person or online. My annoyance and anger is mainly for the blatant use of the over marketing the show did with the group as one of the focus points in the advertising for this show and their previous shows from 2018 and 2019 and the actual results they gave.
@depressed cockroach 10k likes on a tweet doesn’t compare to the tens of millions of fans they have on practically all forms of social media. And as a fan of them, it’s not like I can or any other fan in the fandom can do much to wrangle those hot heads and tell them to stop being stupid. It’s impossible to do so. I don’t agree nor condone what those idiots do in the name of the fandom but the most I can do is at least give my reasoning on why I was annoyed/mad and it has nothing to do with the winners more so the Academy, the producers of the show, and the unpredictability of the criteria for nominees and winners every year.
ARMYs are not mad simply because dynamite lost. it's because of the extreme build up and obvious manipulation of the fan base & BTS themselves. a grammy doesn't mean shit and we all realize that, but they constantly milked BTS' name being on their set to get views and ratings. ending with BTS pushed to the very end of the show, no vcr introduction before the performance which all the other performers had, and they cut the performance short. it's okay to disagree on who should've won which Grammy, but at some point you have to recognize that BTS are more than shiny objects and a "crazy fanbase"
Seeing Killer Mike during Lil Baby's "The Bigger Picture" performance got me all hyped and excited until I remembered that RTJ4 wasn't nominated for anything. Then I just got pissed again.

Wish they had nominated Point the Finger instead of bum-rush though, was honestly a much better track and would’ve been a great tribute to Riley Gale
@@evanhancock4657 for what it’s worth, the record was intended to sound cold, empty, and barren. That was the clear aesthetic they were going for. Sounds like they pulled it off in your eyes. Why do people think Taylor is like some grammy darling? She hasn’t won a Grammy in 6 years until now and a few of her albums were not even nominated for Grammys at all and some not even nominated for album of the year. She deserved this win for folklore, it was extremely album of the year worthy and had the most critical acclaim and was the most loved album of the year. People are acting as if every single year she’s taking home 3 Grammys or something. Her last two albums weren’t even nominated at all. She’s the only artist these days that shows lots of growth and is constantly reinventing herself every album, the Grammys seem to like that. She deserved this.
I'm sorry but the album after Folklore is better. Everyone I know agrees. And also Taylor already has a bazillion awards. This year was the top of the Weeknd's career. I feel like there’s a long list of bands that contributed to the styles that CO and poppy pull from who were much more creative and never got within a mile of a Grammy. Also, the recording academy loves to give awards to music with relevant political themes. Who’s to say whether that is a more or less valid definition of “deserving” recognition than any other?

I hope they release a full-on Bangtan signature pure songs without the need for flat mainstream music to appeal to everyone. (No offense, it's just that their pure BTS sound is what makes them so interesting and they pride themselves for it even. It's disappointing to see the slow selling out to get more).
Oh my God so true. I like Dynamite but it’s not them. I hope they grow out of it and forget about a Grammy, honestly. I believe the grammys look down on them or what the academy see on the surface.
