Regarding dollar boxes, I'd like to suggest a segment for the show where you challenge multiple people 1-4 hours to find the highest-value card in a dollar box, then see who wins (based on MarketMovers data).

Awesome idea! Might not get that done this show, but certainly in the future.
Also would be great to have a "wanted list" kind of app for rare (numered at least) cards to vendors. I put my wanted card up which vendors could see and let me know if any of them has it. This amount of cards can not be browsed or checked out even if the National would go on for months.

So cool, but intimidating at the same time. The cards that someone new to collecting is looking for are usually under $100, maybe even under $50. To feel pressured to pull something huge that's worth thousands of dollars sometimes sucks the fun away from breaking wax.

Exactly, it’s not a judgment on his situation one way or the other. It’s just that there are so many other good players that you know will have jobs. It’s not worth the stress.

I honestly think in a year or two The Deshaun Watson situation will be over with and no one will care/remember. I don't condone anything he has done, i just think it will blow over and when he gets back on the field his prices will get back to normal. I bought a few for basically nothing

the non-auto'ed gem mint 10 goes for $600-$700 alone... so the gem mint 10 auto psa certified is probably like a $3000 card

Straight up hustling that old man with that $11k trade value on the Patrick Mahomes Orange Prizm BGS 9.5. With a recent comp of $14,800 for a PSA 10 generally a BGS 9.5 is about 30-40% of a PSA 10. So $7k max!
About 75% according to card ladder on base prizm (6.25/8.25=0.75). So 14.8x0.75=11.1k or basically bang on. You should try some basic math before accusing someone off ripping off an old man…
@@michaelgeddes3924 2017 Patrick Mahomes Silver Prizm BGS 9.5 recent average comps are around $3-3.2k (not that random $6250 best offer sale you are using, which is suspious). PSA 10 recent comps are about $8.5k. Yep my basic math is telling me that is about 37%. Look up the "average" recent comps on eBay or 130points, check it out yourself. It is well known in the collectible hobby that a BGS 9.5 is about 1/3 of a PSA 10 price and gets a little bit closer to the 40-45% range for True 9.5+ sub grades. Also a BGS 9.5 is about 30% more then a PSA 9. You can compare this with any other high end cards, the data points will always add up. There is a small exception for super lower population cards such as Jordan Fleers.
@@michaelgeddes3924 Here's another example with a lot more data points / recent comps. 2003 Topps Chrome LeBron James PSA 10 recent comps are around $17-18k. The Beckett 9.5's recent comps around $5.5-6k. My basic math skills are kicking again, yep that is about 33%??? Interesting?! Shocking right? Oh look a PSA 9 recent comps are around $4.5k, YEP about 25% less then a BGS 9.5. I will be waiting for a reply...

I don’t know about investing the kind of money you throw around but I just bought (yesterday)!a Deshaun Watson Select XRC PSA 9 , what kind of price would you have paid ? I went to school with a Geoff Wilson, played college football at Stanford under Bill Walsh ( him not me )

To me, Deshaun Watson is a buy. So long as he's still in the league, he'll continue to put up numbers when others can't. He outperformed former starter, Schaubb, as a rookie and Schaubb was, by no means, a bad QB. His stats would definitely improve on a better team or with the Texans as long as he's got the support on offense. It was ridiculous last year when they opted to pass for 3 downs because they didn't have a running game besides him. Plus, all of the media attention he's getting will keep him fresh in everyone's minds. The athletes most popular are those that people love or the ones you love to hate. Any media attention is good for popularity. I don't know if his numbers will jump off the page this year but in my opinion, he's definitely a card to pick up at a low. Good buy for a longer investment!!!

On Watson. I avoid any players with allegations of physical violence toward women and children. Innocent until proven guilty, yes, but plenty of other players to focus on.

I would stay away from D Watson cards. He just got 5 more criminal cases recently, not civil cases so this probably won't go away soon.
When it comes to Watson imo when a "message therapist" goes to a sports facility she already knows what's up. So you'll never see me shed a tear in these situations. The only problem I see,and this can be said to a certain pitcher on the Dodgers roster (for now) you gotta use your head more.
